I just got the Gnex yesterday and I'm always experiences a couple of random reboots while playing music. The other thing is why does it takes like about a second or two before the phone move into landscape mode while turning the phone sideways?

What kind of music? I know mine has had a few random reboots and crashes with Slacker radio... but then again Slacker crashes on every phone I've tried...
No problems with google music app though....
Is your USB plugged in when this happens?

the delay in turning your screen is intentional. and it would help if you told us what music player you were using.
the google music app and dood music app both crashed on me. I have Cdma version

What is your notifications ring tone set to? Might be the ringtone that actually sounds like static/interference.

Only when the screen is off?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I have the same issue (4.0.3, matri1x 1.5), but only affects sound when the screen is off. Pulling out and then reinserting headphone jack works for me, but would like a permanent fix.

Cpu is clocking down too much when the screen is off.

yeah.. when the screen is off.... messed up thing is.. it only happens to some songs.. not all
I looked just about everywhere, but couldn't find anything.
While listening to music on my phone (flac and mp3, on phone not the cloud) I get skips and pops when I multitasking. Does anyone else have this problem? This doesn't happen all the time, but enough for me to put the question on here.
Nonrooted locked and stock (yes yes I will do it this next week.)

Phone speaker, wired, or Bluetooth?
I'm asking because I've seen an issue with music skipping over Bluetooth while the wifi was scanning.
I haven't noticed skips wired or through the speaker, however.

While using Google Music, streaming, I get skips and pops on longer songs (Hour long mixes).
This is on cell data w/ headphone jack.
Issue goes away for a few seconds when you pause the track and press play again, only to return.
Wired.. Always resolves itself, but annoying.

Okay.. I replicated it if someone can check...
Open music and play. Then go into the browser, and select a bookmark. Does it nearly every time.

Start playing a song and hit the three dot settings tab in the upper left select sound effects and turn on the EQ. You can change the EQ to to the flat setting if you want the music to sound as it did before. This fixes a lot of the music player sound issues.

Actually it does. People have reported before that turning on the EQ stops the skipping/crashing problem.

If you have a clue than you would know that it does fixing skipping issues so keep your "not trying to be rude" comments to your self if you are unaware of a fix.

Nope
Let me just add that you should read the first post.... Not downloading from cloud, and so that doesn't work....
I had the question so I know what I was asking.. This is why rootz is better, and less self involved asses.

I was able to use the Youtube app w the screen locked to listen to the audio, I can no longer do this, also happens with streaming any content on the web. Is this Jellybean centric? I searched numerous combinations and nothing. Anybody have any insight or solutions?

I have never been able to do this ever on any phone. When you put your phone to sleep, it shuts everything down. only way to keep things active is by using a wake lock and some apps dont have this built in. but youtube app will stop immediatly after leaving the application.

Actually I was doing the same thing, but that was long time ago. I still had my sgs vibrant. But I think google made some update or whatever and stopped that future from working, it was before I got my sgs3 (I've skipped sgs2) and loooong before jb come out. Were you able to do it on sgs3? I would love to see someone bring it back.

Knew this was possible! Thanks for the link boss!!! Now if it could just play playlists id be so effing happy!
Yeah thanks guys. Im sure I was able to do it with this handset maybe it was my Vibrant. Seems like a silly thing to remove since you may want to listen to audio wo the screen on.

Here is my very unweildy work around. I dl the vid as mp3 using Tubemate and set it to play in power amp as default.

So I was listening to music on my phone with slim bean and it fell behind the bed and when I found it all it does is say Samsung and vibrate in a consistent pattern. Also if I remove the battery and put it back in it vibrates as soon as battery/charger is connected. Does this mean it somehow got in bootloader mode? If so is their a way to get it out without my PC? I tried getting into twrp but. No avail.

These is a similar thread floating around here where people have had this issue when using Pandora. See if you can search for it.

Thank you, I fell into a noob panic. Thanks for calming me down lol. Looks like I may have a power button issue on my hands

No problem. I knew there was something on it but didn't know the details. People have also had a similar problem with Pandora. Don't know if that's what you were listening to, but there seems there's a problem with Pandora and the latest roms.

I was listening to music from my SD card. I got it to boot
But I didn't have the similar in and when I rebooted it it did the same thing. Also got it to load the tarp splash and it rebooted then and I can see the screen flicker like it was booting and the power button was pressed. Looks like I'm going to have to send it off. Hope I can get it replaced for free if not I'm gonna look at a different phone.
