Hi All !!
I am a recent convert to Android....... I have trying to install some Custom ROM on my DHD........I have the following stuff on my Phone:
Android Version-2.3.3
HTC Sense version-2.1
Baseband Version- 12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M
Kernal Version- 2.6.35.10-gd2564fb
[email protected] #1
Thu Jun 9 14:20:29 CST 2011
Build Number- 2.50.405.2 CL87995 release-keys
Software Number- 2.50.405.2
Browser Version- Webkit/533.1
After number of sleepless nights I have finally been able to ROOT my phone....and the FASTBOOT mode displays the following info:
ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-0.85.0024
MICROP-0438
RADIO-26.10.04.03_M
eMMC-boot
April 12 2011 00.55.45
Now I want to change the Radio to 12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M...to install the Custom ROM.........BUT when I try and install the Radio using the TOOL given in the thread....I get the Message......writing radio....FAILED (remote not allowed)....
I tried the EASYS-OFF tool......It gives me the message Communication Error.....
the Phone is ROOTED...have verified it with Terminal Emulator.......$ Prompt changes to #....when I type su......
GUYS......need some help and fresh perspective......
Any HELP will be appreciated......
Thanxxx
The reason it says remote not allowed is because you don't have Eng soff. For those of us that only have soff we flash radios a bit different,(much more convenient in my opinion) but you have to have them in a pd98img zip and flash through bootloader.
http://www.4shared.com/file/OI9m5fzp/PD98IMG.html
Here's the radio, found it in the dev section
Download file and move to root of SD car(not in a folder)
Boot into hboot and press up to accept
THANKS a ton...........already downloading it......Will reply ASAP.....
Thanxxx
couldn't thank you enough for your help........ flashed the Radio....and then the ROM......works like a charm.......
Only that I find that the signal strength has dropped from 4 bars on the screen to 2 bars and at times....just a single bar !!!!!
Any suggestions or advise ?? should I flash some other Radio ???
Thanxxx
The Radio you use may differ in performance depending on the region.
Since you are from the same country I belong to, do try the radio I am currently using. It may work out for you. (Find the link in my sig)
thanks....will down it...and install it..........thanks for all the help !!
Try different radio, it should work with your country provider, and the installed rom .
If the custom ROM is a Sense ROM, should he also be updating the matching RIL?
I had a same experience of rooting my phone and I realise what you feel! Add oil!

Hi all, great site but I am regretting having rooted my uscc cdma desire. Everything I've read thus far seems to only pertain to GSM. I want to unroot back to the stock rom and would be very appreciative to even donate for this assistance.
fyi: I don't have the stock rom to unroot with.

You need an official uscc RUU, which has not turned up yet. Your only option is probably to wait for the 2.2 update which should unroot your phone. However, there are a few ROMs available: 2.2 sense-based, MIUI, and of cource, Cyanogenmod. I would try those out. If worse comes to worse, there is a recovery for rooted 2.1 stock somewhere in the blitzroms thread.
Seems like this uscc ruu is under lock and key somewhere. Thanks for the assist, I'll wait for the 2.2 update to unroot.....hopefully
I'm new to the all custom rom thingy and everything I've followed alot of guides and step how to unrevoked and forever unrevoked to turn the ship s-off
But, I'm having and error 7 when trying to install a froyo rom etc etc, I'm just wondering if its even possible on my cellphone.
My full spec on cell right now is

its like sprint it does not have smart chip. just and sd card slot insane where u put the battery
Sorry for my English English is not my main language Neither is Spanish
I'm Half Japanese.
The reason why the roms do not work is because you have a cmda device. Most of the roms here are gsm. You should look in the Desire Index thread for cmda roms. In the future, never flash a gsm on a cmda and visa versa, it could seriously brick your device.

Hi guys,
ive swapped (changed via Vodafone (DE)) my S-offed (unbranded) Desire Z.
Now i Got a Phone back witch is branded and S-ON (normal).
Im very annoyed to get root/s-off it/unbrand/OTA. I try any steps to Downgrade the phone but the way with the goldcard dont works for me. Other steps like Easy Radio or gfree are not working. Gfree tells everything went fine but no effect. Very frustrating.
Now i ask you for help. What should i do with this unrooted/S-ON brick ?
Data of the phone are:
VISION PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.85.0008
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.04.02.17_M2
eMMC-boot
Nov 17 2010,21:21:39

Kernel: 2.6.32.21 [email protected] #1
Build-Number: 1.72.161.1 CL296256 release-keys
Software-Number: 1.72.161.1
Browser-Version: WebKit 3.1
The igoldcard-method fails because "invalid CID" i tried 3 SD-Cards (8GB,2GB,1GB), but same failure.

Super tempted to FLAME YOU because you are clearly in the wrong section. If you have a question then PLEASE post in the RIGHT Section which is Q&A.
Also, you clearly haven't searched through the forum cause there are COUNTLESS forum threads about how to root your G2 or Desire Z. Including mine.
Just read the rules, post in the right sections and use the search function and you'll be fine.
Sorry man, but it seems that you didn't read my post carefully.
The goldcardmethod will not work. And it was YOUR tread i have found in my countless searches, and was the how to im followed. Believe me, i try since 5 days to make anything working for me.
pls move my tread and forgive me the "wrong section post".
can anyone help me to choose what is the right stock rom for me?

Your bootloader is already unlocked. Fastboot flash a recovery.img and flash root or s ROM from there.
