I was running Axiom 2.4 and decided to transition to codename droid. I unfortunately didn't wipe until after it installed. Well all is well with everything except that the gallery says no external storage available even though all the media is right behind. I'll do whatever to fix it. I just don't know if I have to sbf or factory reset again or what?

How do I keep android from filling up my SD card?? It has a android file full of cache over 6 GB worth. As soon as I delete it it starts filling it up again, that isn't why I expanded my micro SD.

Use a cache cleaner that clears SD cache. I use Cache Cleaner NG & have it run automatically every morning. I set it to use the old method in settings because it runs faster and seems to be more thorough.
It's probably one specific app that's doing it. Have you done anything to move your cache to your SD? If so, you may want to move it back to internal.

That is exactly what I did and it works wonderfully, thanks

Hi. I've been getting the insufficient storage' crap when trying to backup updated apps and have tried dalvik wipe, un install and reinstall of both app and pro key ect but problem persists. If I try to view the wiki or change log page I get 'account suspended' message. Sucks in short.
Anyone else having or had this problem? Any solutions?
Thanks.

As far as the insufficient storage, that sounds like you have your phone's memory all but filled up. Check in settings. Doubt wiping dalvik will really clear up that much room. If it is space, delete some Movies, music, and or pictures.
Edit: I just checked before and after dalvik wipe and the free space on the phone is the same. Which makes sense, since the dalvik cache will rebuild upon first boot.
Still have 8.5gig space. Strange as was running 4.04 after flashing the zip over 4.02 n had no problem. Flashed factory image of 4.04 today n now its a problem? Either way the "account suspended" thing really doesn't make sense

Delete your old nandroid and titanium backups or move them to your computer. Then curse whoever was in charge of how much storage space the GSM model received.

With around 90 gig of music on Google music, instant upload and the last four or so years worth of pics on Google photo/picasa, a good quarter of my library on Google books and a film or two for "just in case" viewing on my phone memory along with 62 apps including games like gta3 and shadowgun I still have over 8gig free... yes more space is better than less but in this case it hardly matters anyway, its sorted now so thanks so much for all the constructive assistance, maybe I can repay the favor one day

There are certain apps that do not seem to like the new rendering in jellybean at all. List any of them you have noticed perform worse.
Maps (planning in the we maps app is butter smooth in ICS but is very stuttery in jellybean. )
Words with friends (main menu)
The browser is smoother in a lot of circumstances but at times seems less smooth than cm9. Minor compared to maps which is a slide show.

Full wipe is required, for me everything is more smooth than ICS ,my friend had same issue with arc S when updated from 2.3 to 4 ,in my honest opinion: this is not optimization wrong of jelly bean ,but simply cache problem, you can try to uninstall and re install

Maps: let the app build up the tile cache again in JB or compare to ICS with cache cleared. Maps was never really smooth when it has to reload tile data.

Weird. Maps is fine here too. It only "lags" if I zoom into new places but it has done that since forever and it should be related to the internet connection.
Maps working here as well. If wiping and reloading doesn't work, maybe try the latest gapps.
Its not completely choppy but the latest version literally like never lags in ICS but in jellbean its stuttery and seems to take a split second to start following your finger. I have very few apps installed and it is a clean flash. All partitioned were wiped and reformatted. I even accidentally fastbooted all my data off on the internal SD card partition a few weeks ago so that's new as well.

Just wiped the tile cache it does seem a little better. Maybe some leftovers from cm on the emmc partition slowed it.
Its still not as smooth as ICS though.

My gallery doesn't see storage anymore if I flash past 8/02/12
Is this just the way it is or is there a way to fix it?
Thanks!

Storage has swapped since then to correct locations. For many things Internal will have swapped for External and vice versa.
There are a few things that have been in progress since then. 1, a couple of AOSP/CM9 acceptable schemes have been tried the final has been arrived at
2, some issues with applications have arisen, i think this is generally fixed
3, i know the latest issue is deleting in gallery isn't working right.
The nightlies are built off Chris's latest committed code. The changes in storage are permanent so some of your applications / defaults will be backwards from what your used to. The issues however are and or will be fixed and they were known about it the day they showed up.
I know a few people reported files being there and they could not see them at all. I have been working from clean installs with no issues. Pictures that were taken with the 7-17 nightly were stored on the storage device they were originally and the camera now saves to the new location both are visible in gallery for example. Not 100% sure but i believe the SD card is now the default write location.
The gallery says there is no external storage available.

What info would help? All I know with my naked eye is that the storage seems to flip flop or something. The gallery says there is no external storage available. I tried to get a screenshot with the built in screenshot feature but because it sees no storage it won't save it.

Well if your coming from a TW Kernel nightly (7/31 or older) to a source kernel nightly (8/02 +) to one of the newer source kernel nightlies I would recommend a clean install i mean storage has changed atleast 3 times.
As per Chris's notes I did notice that the option inside storage was checked causing emmc to be mounted as external_sd. But everything is working for me on a clean install either or. Problems can only really be solved once you get that out of the way. Otherwise revert to whatever you liked and be prepared to do a clean install when we go official. I can only recommend it when such a leap occurs.

Hey Folks
I have a question. I just updated my Note 8 3G to CM11. I did a complete wipe before upgrading.
I notice now that i only have 1.2GB free space out of the 9GB. This seems very strange. Its a clean install of CM11 and i havent even downloaded any apps.
Is the 1.2GB Free real? or is something else happening here..
Any help?
I will post a screen pic soon.
Attached is a screen capture. Clearly there is something wrong. The bar plot shows I should have much more than 1.7GB

Download DiskUsage. Free app on Play that will show you what's taking up space.
Did you wipe System also? I ran into that issue awhile back. Turns out CWM was keeping separate backup blobs in the internal. Switched to TWRP. Wiped typical (including System) flashed the ROM of choice and no problem. CWM seems to resist doing complete wipes sometimes
I did a factory reset and it solved the problem. FYI. I am using twrp. So might be a cm11 issue
