Phone: Xperia Play (R800i)
Android Version: 2.3.4 (Gingerbread)
Build Number: 4.0.1.A.0.283
Bootloader State: Locked
Rooted State: Not rooted
I want to root my device on Gingerbread 2.3.4. For some reason SuperOneClick just won't seem to work for me. (Link if you can help - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21296441#post21296441)
If I flash down to 2.3.2 and root using Gingerbreak, will I lose root if I upgrade OTA to 2.3.4 again? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

my firmware version is 10.4.1.B.101

If ure still on kk i used stump root to root it then get on play and get a app called flashify get your recovery im pretty sure twrp is bumped which is a workaround for a unlockable bootloader so technicly bootloader is still locked were just slipping through a hole in the fence to say

Hello everyone.
I have bought an LG G4 H815T two years ago and I can't stand the official firmware anymore.
I know loads of threads exist on that subject, so let me explain why my case is slightly different.
I am stuck on software version v10b-GLOBAL_COM : Android 5.1, build number LMY47D.
When I check on the "update" tab, it says it's up-to-date.
When I check with LG Bridge, it says i'm up-to-date.
I asked LG, they won't do anything for me.
If I try to unlock my phone the official way, LG tells me I can't do it because that version (Australian market) can't not be unlocked.
I can't get unlock.bin to work when I reboot the phone in fastboot nor unlock it with ADB.
I saw the thread "unlock any G4 with UsU" but in the requirements it says it needs android 6.0+ or it will hard-brick the phone.
What can I do? My phone is literally not usable, I really need a custom rom.
Thank you in advance.
Cheers,
SIHS.

I suppose I can, but don't I need an unlocked bootloader to flash that update?
Also, I fear that updating to V20E will make the anti-rollback system over version v2 which would be a problem even for UsU, right?
