[Q] Message Notification File - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I'm on a hunt for the file in which the notifications and such (vibration control, screen turning on, sound playing) is defined for what happens when an SMS message is received, and am unsuccessful .
If anyone could point me to the location of this event, that'd be pretty helpful.
Thanks,
bracketslash

or orbit

does anyone know how to stop the o2 notification noise when you send a text message? the one that chimes and then onscreen tells you your balance?
also does anyone know how to get the keyboard to stop autocompleting words (or sudjesting words as i type) as it slows down the input speed of the keyboard
Not sure if this is what you are after:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMsg=1 (Dword, ''Settings' key may need to be created) - this disables the "Message Sent" pop-up when sending SMS/MMS
To turn off the auto complete goto Start/Settings/Input and theres a tab for "Word Completion".
tried the autocomplete and it worked but the sms notification couldnt find the registry key. i dont need the bubble removed but just the ding sound everytime i send a text etc to stop it confirming my credit amount by noise ebveytime i use the phone or text etx its the notify wma but i cant change it

Click to collapse
At last - a question I can answer without sounding like a newbie!!!
The balance reminder is a sim feature activated by O2, all you need to do is call PAYG customer services and they will turn it off for you....simple...
Hope this helps....
i wanted the balance reminder to tell me how much credit is left but just wanted the notify sound deactivated cause its so anoying. this is part of the phone and 02 wont be able to just turn of the noise and i cant delete or change the notify.wma tone in windows as it is read only otherwise i could write over with a silent notify.wma tone.
in sounds and notifications under notifications
you can pick messaging: new text message
and uncheck play sound
hi did that but that only stopd the sound on incomming messages but any that i send (and after making a call as well) still set the niose off.

[Q] screen lighting up

my DHD screen doesnt light up when i get a text or a phonecall and since the speaker is really low i always miss my calls or texts is there anyway to make the screen light up so i know ive received a text or call?
Any 1 help?
Same problem..
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
anyone help? still missing phonecalls lol
Hi,
This is really strange ! My screen lights up each time I receive a phone call.
I'm looking my Call preferences in Settings right now and I don't find anything about the screen!
This is my conf in the sound Settings anyway (perhaps there's a link, so you can try my conf) :
Code:
General
Sound profile : Normal
Volume
Vibrate : checked
Incoming calls
Phone Ringtone
Quiet ring on pickup : checked
Pocket mode : checked
Flip for speaker : checked
Notifications
Notification sound
Feedback
Audible touch tones : checked
Audible selection : unchecked
Screen lock sounds : unchecked
Vibrate feedback : checked
There is also the display panel. I tried to disable Animations but my screen was still lighting up each time I received a call. Perhaps Notification flash have something to do with your problem ?
Good luck guys !
The not lighting up when you receive a text is normal. You could try Handcent of SMS popup from the market. These apps have an option for that.
As for not lighting up when you receive a phone call I have no idea. There was an issue with the proximity sensor bug on release, but this seems to be a different one.

[Q] Can't enable both email and text sound notifications

Hi,
I did my best to find anyone having this problem using both google and xda search but have miserably failed. I apologize if I overlooked a related thread.
Here's the problem. I have enabled text message sound notifications. It works. However, if I enable email sound notification in addition to text message notification, text message sound notifications work only in a device didn't go into standby mode. If a standby period has elapsed, I get only LED blinking.
Anyone has any idea ?

Dual ringing?

Hi all, I have an interesting problem...when my phone gets a text message, i hear the notification, but I also get the ringtone right after that....not sure why...its probably some setting somewhere, but no clue..ive looked and cant find anything...any ideas?....kind of annoying to get a short beep from a text message followed by a loud and long ringtone throughout the day...lol.....
Disable all notifications in the stock sms app.
I'm guessing you have more than one sms app.

[Q] Turn off Vibrate in Silent Mode - CM10.1

Hey guys,
so i noticed my phone doesnt vibrate when i recieve text messages unless the phone is specifically set to vibrate mode.
with volume, i recieve a notification sound but no vibrate
Im using go sms pro as my messaging client and when i test the notification settings i get a report saying:
test result is:
ringtone is on
has turned on vibrate in silent mode
go sms notification test results:
ringtone is on
vibration is on
etc...
so the line im trying to figure out is the "has turned on vibrate in silent mode".
ive searched through the Sound settings on the phone and i cant find any way to change the vibration settings or the silent mode settings.
i even experimented with setting the stock messaging app to vibrate always and setting go sms pro to no block other app notifications...still no vibrate even with the duplicate notifications.
what do you guys think? i feel like im just full retard and missing a simple check box in settings or something.
thanks
Your question is about Go SMS? With the stock messaging app, vibration options are in the settings. Must be in there somewhere.
