does anyone know how to stop the o2 notification noise when you send a text message? the one that chimes and then onscreen tells you your balance?
also does anyone know how to get the keyboard to stop autocompleting words (or sudjesting words as i type) as it slows down the input speed of the keyboard
Not sure if this is what you are after:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMsg=1 (Dword, ''Settings' key may need to be created) - this disables the "Message Sent" pop-up when sending SMS/MMS
To turn off the auto complete goto Start/Settings/Input and theres a tab for "Word Completion".
tried the autocomplete and it worked but the sms notification couldnt find the registry key. i dont need the bubble removed but just the ding sound everytime i send a text etc to stop it confirming my credit amount by noise ebveytime i use the phone or text etx its the notify wma but i cant change it

Click to collapse
At last - a question I can answer without sounding like a newbie!!!
The balance reminder is a sim feature activated by O2, all you need to do is call PAYG customer services and they will turn it off for you....simple...
Hope this helps....
i wanted the balance reminder to tell me how much credit is left but just wanted the notify sound deactivated cause its so anoying. this is part of the phone and 02 wont be able to just turn of the noise and i cant delete or change the notify.wma tone in windows as it is read only otherwise i could write over with a silent notify.wma tone.
in sounds and notifications under notifications
you can pick messaging: new text message
and uncheck play sound
hi did that but that only stopd the sound on incomming messages but any that i send (and after making a call as well) still set the niose off.

Hi,
My first post here, hopefully an easy one.
I really hope i am just being stupid and over looking something simple.
I have an unbranded TP2 and i use a Pay & Go SIM in it.
this has not been a problem, everything works exactly like it should. my issue is that O2 insist on sending me notification messages after every text and call.
This wasn't a problem on any other phone as notifications came in a silent, or discreet message just telling the the amount of credit i have left. Now, on the TP2 it is a very loud and intrusive noise that echos around my next to silent office. i cannot find out how to change the tone to something a little less annoying.
I dont mind if i can only use the TP2 istalled tones, i can find something suitable. But i just don't want to turn off ALL of my notifications, just their tone
Thanks for any help

Start->Settings->Sounds and Notifications
thanks for the speedy reply.
I did look there.
I can turn off notifications/ event etc, or i can change tones to most kinds of notifications, EXCEPT for the "phone" notification.
I have checked through each of the availiable settings to change to see if that makes a difference, and i still cannot find it
Thanks

Anyway to ignore a text while on the phone? Ex: when on a call and a text comes in my text message tone would start playing while i'm on the phone which makes it difficult for you to hear the other person so you have to wait until the tone finish.
P.S. hopefully i explained this good enough
I picked a shorter tone
choose a shorter tone?
Pick a shorter sound/tone to an sms/email event, so interruption during a call is diminished.
Is there an option or a cab for the phone that makes it vibrate instead of some tone while your on the line talking to someone?
Hi all, I have an interesting problem...when my phone gets a text message, i hear the notification, but I also get the ringtone right after that....not sure why...its probably some setting somewhere, but no clue..ive looked and cant find anything...any ideas?....kind of annoying to get a short beep from a text message followed by a loud and long ringtone throughout the day...lol.....
Disable all notifications in the stock sms app.
I'm guessing you have more than one sms app.
Hi
i got my nokia x a few weeks ago but recently i notice that when i get sent a text it remains silent ? i have checked the phones settings and can see the tones work within the phones " sound & vibra " menu but i just dont hear my phone text alert when ever i receive a text message this is so frustrating . i do hope someone can help me !
also i notice you can only use the default alert tones and not use any custom ones . i cant seem to find were the alert / notifications tones are stored on the phone either . so if anyone can help i would be most greatful i have also i did a hard reset to factory default to see if that would resolve it but still cant hear my text message alert tone when i receive a text message !
Thanks in advance
I am using the standard Samsung message app. When i recieve a text it will not notify me with a tone anymore.
I have gone to
Messaging>settings>notifications>select ringtone I choose the tone I want (it has always worked) When I recieve a text the phone only vibrates.
Anyone any ideas please?
Any sugestion for a good 3rd party messaging app?
THANKS
