I find it frustrating that I can't use text prediction when typing in the browser.
I am mostly using ICS Browser + and the stock browser, and when I type a post or anything in a text box (using the stock keyboard) there are no predictions appear?
Is there anyway I can enable this?
Cheers

this is a google bug, they hopefully will fix it. previously android did support text prediction in the browser. on 4.0 it somehow disappeared. lets hope google brings it back.

I have not heard anyone with this issue, so hopefully someone can help me out with a setting I'm missing. I've only had this problem since rooting and flashing the CyanogenMod ROM, btw.
In stock browser, as well as Dolphin HD, I cannot get the text to auto-fit the screen!
I've tried the settings within both browsers ("Auto-fit Pages"), but the setting has absolutely no effect on the way the text is displayed. So the problem is: when I zoom into text, I have to keep scrolling right and left to read articles. I had no problem with text displaying correctly before I got rooted. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions are much appreciated!
Home, menu, settings, Cyanogenmod Settings, User Interface, Reflow after pinch in. Problem solved.

Ahhh, thanks for the reply! Also, after messing with the browsers a bit more, I noticed that sometimes you need to double-tap the text in order to auto-fit.
I am running myn 2.2 rls 5 and I have the browser text reflow disabled. I like having the text reflow disabled but I am experiencing another issue with the browser and I am not sure if it is related or not. The browser will automatically shift up or down or left or right on its own. It is really annoying when you go to select a link and the screen shifts on its own and you hit the wrong link. Does anyone know how to fix this?
How do you have the browser text reflow disabled? I'm running myn's Warm 2.2 as well, but I thought I read somewhere that downloading the stock fonts would take care of the issue you speak about. I did that and I don't have that browser shift issue anymore. I think downloading the stock fonts corrects the brower shift issue by enabling the text reflow. If there is a way to enable the reflow again without downloading the stock fonts then I would try that first. Please let me know.
Just upgraded from sensation and not impressed so far, word wrap in web browsing has gone and keyboard skips when typing in the browser, tried chrome and stock android browser.
any way to activate word wrap? or wait for a custom Rom?
Strange issue. I have swiftkey and thumb keyboard installed on my rooted JB. S3. If I am in a browser (only use dolphin or firefox) the keyboard will not display predictive and more importantly the double space for period doesn't work either. It does however work in any other app that I use (namely email and sms)
what's going on?

There are some fields in apps (think of like an "Email" or "Password" fields) that normally tell the keyboard to NOT use predictive text. For an example of this, go to Settings > Accounts > Add Google > Existing > and just type in whatever. Predictive text doesn't work because the app told the keyboard to disable it. Also the same way that some apps (I beleive Domino's Pizza app does this), when it comes for you to input a number (for example Credit Card #, Phone, or ZIP), they tell the keyboard to switch to the numberpad by default.
Long story short, this is as designed by Dolphin and Firefox (presumably, see above for details).
Quick question.... Chrome is not being 'remembered' as my default browser. So if I use for example Google's widget for internet favourites. Every time it requests me to select a browser. (Chrome or Samsung's stock browser). It never remembers the option even though I set chrome as default.... Anyone else having this issue. Anyway round this? Obviously if won't let me disable the stock browser.
HI Andy,
Did you ever figure this out?
