How do i check if i have yajku or whatever it is - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

i don't really know about this stuff
but i think mine came with a samsung build because i am still on android 4.0.1
can anyone help me out?
i heard samsung build will take longer to update because its not from google, what gives?
i wouldve bought a galaxy s2 if i wanted updates from samsung
edit:
i downloaded system info
it says yakjuux :/

download android system from market check build pro

It doesn't matter which version you have. Also my friend with yakju is still on 4.0.1 because updates are staggered. Not all yakju phones will be updated before yakjuux. And not all yakjuux phones will get slow updates. That said, some yakjuux builds will be updated before some yakju builds.

I'm assuming you on the bell build since your in the GTA (like me). Flash to yakju. I know unlocking the bootloader voids the warranty but idrc. It's a developer device

Doesn't really void warranty. Just means you'll have to relock the phone and send it back in. But be assured there isn't any evidence that you've unlocked it.

Yakju and mysid are both update from Google. Yakju is the name used for GSM version. Mysid is the name used for LTE(Verizon) Version.

RUUs are leaked and shouldn't normally be open to the public. If they were they'd be on HTCs website (like with their WinMo RUUs)
Guess you cant always trust a telus rep, they told me that the update would be downbloadable from a pc if i didnt have internet access for my desire. (ive been prodding tech support for 2 weeks now trying to get info on when the update is)
I don't see the point in posting the ROM. What would be needed in it that we don't already have or use? Plus if I wanted to do the update that would mean downgrading back to 2.1 and then upgrading.

He said he is interested in some config files, no idea what for. Can you even post just a rom from your phone? Wouldn't you need to extract it from the RUU?
The RUU would be nice though, I'd like to know what radio Telus think we should be running. Obviously it would also be good to flash the phone in a way that masks the modifications made if we need to return it.

Hi guys, I helped my friend switch build from yakjuzs to yakju after I found the following info:
So you found yourself with the yakjuwx build. In order to switch, you’ll have to wipe your device so backup any important data. Luckily it isn’t necessary to root your Nexus because it has an unlockable bootloader. You simply need to have fastboot on your PC (which is included in the Android SDK). Using fastboot on your PC you can easily OEM unlock the device and flash the desired images. Be forewarned, OEM Unlock voids your warranty and neither I nor TalkAndroid can say definitively that flashing the yakju build over a previous yakjuwx build will do no harm, however Luxferro was able to make the transition successfully.
All you need to do is grab the factory image from Google.
Assuming you have already OEM unlocked the device simply type
fastboot -w update image-yakju-itl41f.zip
in your console and you should be all set, back on Google’s update track.
Source: http://www.talkandroid.com/78377-ne...ht-are-your-updates-from-google/#.Tw5FtKX9M29
Note:
Luxferro said:
I bit the bullet and just flashed the 4.0.1 (ITL41F) factory image. It was easy enough if you have fastboot installed and working, and you phone unlocked.
Just grab the Factory Image yakju-itl41f-factory-192e5c67.tgz from google
http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html
open the file with you zip program (i use 7-zip), pull out the image-yakju-itl41f.zip file. Then all you need to do is
Code:
fastboot -w update image-yakju-itl41f.zip
You don't need to bother with the other files in the package cause you already have latest bootloader, and radio. This will wipe your whole phone, so backup if you need to.

Have you received firmware updates yet from Samsung?
Do you see the latest firmware update (Android 4.0.2) for your build at http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html#yakjuitl41f ?
Do you feel left out because you are on a Samsung build and cannot wait for Samsung to release the firmware update for your build?
Do you envy your Google build Galaxy Nexus friends who now are running Android 4.0.2 which comes with the necessary bug fixes?

YES! I was fortunate that my Galaxy Nexus came with the Google Build.
And updated mine to Android 4.0.2 when I came across the following article on the 17 Dec 2011
http://www.androidcentral.com/how-manually-update-your-gsm-galaxy-nexus-android-402-ota
So if you cannot wait for Samsung to take their own sweet time to release the update over the air, and if getting the update as soon as possible matters to you, then YES.. go for it!
Howdy. Quick question: Does this cause you to lose root? I would think so, since the superuser.apk isn't included in the yakju file.
My Gnex is rooted and unlocked, and i don't want to mess it up.

it should be noted that the kernel source isn't getting its 4.0.4 push till later this week. still - this is 4.0.4 (and 4.0.3 kernels should work on it anyways)

What does this mean? It's not using an official kernel? Or it's using the 4.0.3 kernel?

I think he means that the 4.0.4 kernel source isn't getting updated on Google's repositories yet (the kernel source is maintained separate from the "Android" source code). Thus, all custom kernels will still be based on the 4.0.3 kernel, but should still work with 4.0.4. The kernel that flashes with the 4.0.4 update is the new, 4.0.4, stock kernel.
Sooooooo, what's the difference between this 4.0.4 and the leaked Verizon 4.0.4 from a few weeks ago?

A couple interesting things about it. You can see the model number is different than on stock which I believe was "Galaxy Nexus" (fixed with newest build.prop, changed screenshot to reflect). Also, it comes with multiple keyboards. Whenever the virtual keyboard comes up there's a notification up top that lets me pick between them.
That's showing the "Japanese IME" which is not the default. The "Android English" one is which is what we're all used to.
It also has a carrier name "T-CDMA 64" instead of "Verizon Wireless"
And it comes with the Music app that CM9 has
EDIT: Also, comes with new ringtones and notifications as well as new defaults.
EDIT 2: Also, CM9 style louder clicks whenever you click on an app or navigate around the settings.
EDIT 3: He updated the build.prop so now it shows the model number as "Galaxy Nexus" correctly instead of "Full AOSP on Toro-VZW". Updating the screenshot with the fixed version. Either download the ROM again (the md5 will be different) or just download the build.prop from the link in the OP and copy it manually. The carrier still shows as "T-CDMA 64" instead of "Verizon Wireless" however, that hasn't been fixed.
Edit: why was this thread moved? This is for the CDMA version, doesn't belong in general.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Misleading thread title. First "publicly" released AOSP 4.0.4 maybe. I built it for myself yesterday. No T-CDMA issues either.

Leaked build is IMM30B, this is IMM76D, which basically means it's a month newer. IMM30 means ICS Main Tree, where as M30B means it's the second build of January 30th. IMM76D is the fourth ICS main build of March 16.

Hello again.
I have found a possible solution.
Flashing all over again, no root, then adb sideloading the OTA.
It works fine.
Probably the SuperSU binary was messing up the patch signature.
Does this mean that even if I wait for the update to come thru my phone automatically it won't happen because I have root?

Thx ****ing Amazon.
Do you have this problem?
Has anyone got a download link?
Are all of you fully sure that it is a NEW 4.6.6 version for the Amazon Fire Phone (Unlocked GSM)?
I am asking because in Amazon's "Check & Update Your Fire Phone Software" web page:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201607550
It still only shows as latest software the following versions:
Fire phone (AT&T): Fire OS 4.6.5
Fire phone (Unlocked GSM): Fire OS 4.6.3
Does anyone that has received this new 4.6.6 update, has noted anything New or enhancements over the previous 4.6.3 version?
Does anyone got a amazon download link or could upload the update file?

Perhaps Amazon has released this 4.6.6 update for both models at once!
