Yesterday I tried to watch some videos on the YouTube app. Any video I tried, the screen would remain black and the phone would vibrate two times before saying it was not able to play the video and try again. Same issue happened today. I even tried uninstalling the updates, but still nothing. Did a couple reboots just in case, still no luck. I don't recall having this problem before but then again it's been awhile since I've messed with YouTube on my phone. Did some searching, couldn't find a solution.

Why are you still on a leak? We have official EI22 2.3.5 now. Flash a new ROM and try it. If it still does not work uninstall the app and redownload from the market. You have not deleted any DRM files, right?

I didn't realize there was a full release. Thanks, I'll give that a shot when I get home.
And, I have not deleted any DRM files, to my knowledge.
I've had a similar problem it was because of the kernel that this would occur just flash one of the newest ei22 roms and you'll be good to go

Nope. I never got an OTA. Factory data wipe formats system, data and cache. OTA actually screws up people's phones. Better to Odin EC05, root and flash a GB ROM, then flash the modem delta.

I meant SOME people's phones dude. Some would not take to the new recovery no matter what that is why I prefer old reliable and I just Odin a prerooted EC05, flash CWM5 and I'm off and running...2 steps. Works every time.

If I'm going to an EI22 ROM, I don't have to Odin back to an older modem to go to the newer one, do I? I just got confused by the recent replies about going to EC05 and then going to EI22. Why downgrade just to upgrade?

We never got a modem.bin for EI22 only a delta from EC05 so yes you have to Odin in EC05 modem for the flashable to work.

I take it that the EI22 is an update that happens when I got into About Phone and have it check for updates?
Well, when u odin back to ec05 and turn on ur phone, sometimes u get an automatic alert about the update, and sometimes u have to tap on "update android" to make it happen. But u will eventually will see the update. It does take awhile though. Make sure u have a full battery doing this.

Did you wipe data 3x?
If so and it still doesn't work, odin back to eb13 and flash Rom then odin the Ec05 modem back.
May work for you?
Yeah I wiped 3x. I have no problem installing other roms besides this 1. I odined & everything. Even redownloaded 2 see if it was a bad download but its still the same. The EC05 modem I got from the OTA update

Odin back to EB13 and try flashing the rom. Then odin the EC05 tar file and see if that fixes it for you. I'm assuming that you are rooted and converted to EXT4? Probably are but I just thought I'd ask to be sure.
I am no expert by any means and I'm only telling you info I have gathered through lots of research and trial and error when I first started my journey to the promised land.
I tried using the tar file 4 EC05 4 odin & it says failed. That's why I did the OTA update cause I didn't know the actual update was EC05. Do now I really don't know wat 2 u. It frustrates me cause I flash shout of roms, go from modem 2 modem & like I don't knew anymore

Cool, same thing happened to me,last night at 6 am. I was reading, and flashing, and Odin'ing, and re rerooting. I thought it was time to get the OTA to froyo. So I Flashed ACS syndicate EXT 4 Rom. I also got the Stuck Vibrating sasung logo. I booted into clockwork recovery after I had this problem, once I saw it working I was calm. Then I wiped data and cache once... 3 times is the normal ammount though according to professionals. I then reinsalled ACS syndicate Rom. This time is stayed on CWM recovery after it finished and asked me what I wanted to do. Reboot, or wipe, or all those options on the CWM main screen. So then I chose to reboot. And it started up perfect. ACS rom is so fast, so smooth, so slick. I love it. And I love the Epic on 2.2. Apps to SD AND flash player... my phone is now good, andi enjoy bing on it. Battery life is average. But I haven't calibrated properly. Best of luck hope that helps you and others. When I read your post I was like Oh snap tha just happened to me! LOL hours later I'm rooted and customi;ng the **** out of my epic. XDA premium APP rules all!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
Which new roms ACS came out with?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
The new frozen, with no checkerboarding. EXT 4 Tom.
I was on syndicate rom on eclair. One of the only Tom's I've flashed because of kokanes presentation, and product. I flashed, it owned ..and i stayed with it. On 2.2 it'd smoother, and clean and simple. I'm sold. And I appreciate the rom.

Hello I'm new to the epic 4g and now that I have it rooted and ready to rom, I've read on different threads where people talk about being either "ext4" or rfs. What does this mean? I'm afraid that ill do something wrong and mess up my phone. if somebody could explain to me the difference it would be greatly appreciated thanks!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
EXT4 and RFS are file systems. Just about every Epic rom other than Stock uses EXT4 because it's the faster file system.
Oh ok that makes sense. So then how would I go about converting to ext4? Would I need to do this before I flash a rom?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Installing clockworkmod 3.0 automatically puts you on the EXT4 file system.

EC05 is the most recent update. You have to update your modem through ODIN in order to have data/ service work correctly.

You don't HAVE to use Odin to update the modem, there is a flashable zip around here somewhere also. Plus if your comming from stock you should be able to update to stock ec05 OTA (over the air) if your not already on it. To check what build/modem your already on go to settings-about phone-baseband version

ok so i was gonna delete this.. but im getting really confused..
i got the full el30 update
rooted
flashed the el30 kernel
and everything was working perfect
later i tried flashing thunderhawk
it finished installing pretty quick
and then i got stuck at boot up
flashed cm7 and got an "installation aborted" msg
restored a backup of thunderhawk on ei22
and it worked and i had the el30 modem
so i went to cwm and factory reseted it cuz i ddint want the whole settings of it all and my desktop and apps and stuff
then i got stuck at bootup again
i restored my backup again and its working now i have thunderhawk on the el30 modem
my question is basically do any roms work on el30??
why does my back up restore and work but when i flash a new rom it doesnt work???
Maybe bad downloads? Did you try Factory Data Reset and then immediately flash the ROM?

? Just being rooted will not stop the update. In fact most paths will let you take the update and brick your phone if you actually did things like removing system apps. Luckily thats usually a soft brick.
Are you on EL29, some other Gingerbread, one of the 4.0.3/4.0.4 leaks or FF18? There hasnt been a "New OTA" in a month. If your not on FF18 and you want FF18 just odin it.

LOL Flash works fine on ICS, are you sure you were not reading about Jelly Bean? Which still works in just no new installs allowed.
Besides as of today Adobe is supposed to have pulled Flash for ALL phones on all android versions that dont already have it installed
http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/14/psa-adobe-halts-new-installs-of-flash-on-android-as-of-tomorrow/
You can flash FF18 OTA, in clockworkmod, or flash the tar in odin that we had 3 weeks prior to the OTA. I flashed a tar/one click earlier for testing and someone else flashed a zip for it in clockwork mod using a safe recovery.
Taking the OTA means you loose root anyways, not sure why people think they want the OTA. With no root exploit youd have to flash an prerooted one in odin.
I tried to flash it with the original update and looked like it was going to update but after the animation showing as a box with a arrow unpacking the update it threw me into the Android with the exclamation screen. Had to battery pull and safe to say that my phone is safe and not bricked.

Well once again its going to rape you of root and the only way to get root is the same way to get rooted FF18 from where you are. Mind you the update to FF18 is not without its issues. Swype for example you have to delete its data for it to work again. Best bet is to backup your stuff and wipe it.
