Does anybody knows how to delete instant upload picture on the galaxy nexus
Just go into the google+ app then hit the menu button at the main screen and go to settings. When you scroll down you see photo settings, uncheck the instant upload box.
And delete those pics already uploaded by going to your Google+ account or Picasa and delete them there.

Maybe someone can move the second thread of the op: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437239
To delete the instant upload pictures from your device and the gallery:
1. uncheck instant upload in the google+ apps settings (as mentioned here before)
2. uncheck picture sync in your google account settings on the phone
3. go into settings > apps > all, look for "google+" and "clear data", and just to be sure do the same for the "gallery" app and the "media data storage".
Your pictures should be gone, if not try rebooting and see if they are gone now.
Thank you for the answer i did what you said and the pictures are gone.ps sorry about the 2 treads i did not realise and its only a few times i post a question.thanks again.

Perhaps I am missing something simple, how can I rebuild all the contact's thumbnails in default Contact apps? I want to rebuild because some thumbnails were fuzzy.
I am running Gingerbread (2.3).
I am rooted.
I attempted to solve the problem by moving all JPG files in
/data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/files
into another directory.
but after I cleared out the directory and rebooted the phone, the contacts thumbnails were not rebuild (actually now, they just show the empty placeholder thumbnail).
So again, how can I rebuild all the contacts' thumbnails in default contacts app?
Please advise.

Thanks for responding. The problem is not syncing them. I am trying to rebuild all the contacts' thumbnails.
When you sync them it should rebuild the thumbnails

I think I figured it out...
1. Settings > accounts and sync > uncheck contact option from all accounts
(this is important to do, or else you may lose contacts from the sources you are syncing from)
2. Settings > applications > manage applications > contact storage > clear data
3. Reboot phone
4. Settings > accounts and sync > check contact option on desired accounts
5. Contacts will sync quickly but.... It takes, a loooong time for contact thumbnails to be rebuilt. But they will eventually be rebuilt.
6. To help speed up the process you can try to log into the different apps that are sources of contacts such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.
This may also help, in contacts app > online directories > Facebook/Twitter > refresh

how can i stop the gallery app to sync my picasa/google plus photos?i tried disable it in the sync settings and clear the gallery cache but they still there meaning that every time i start the app it take a bit to show photos because of syncing,
thanx
It's a setting in Google Plus right when you open it the first time.
Go into google+ app. go to settings menu. scroll down to bottom. uncheck "instant upload" or change the settings to only upload on wifi, but not on battery power.
Done it but photos are still in the gallery app. ??

Search the forum for 'gallery' and you should find a few posts giving step by step details on how to solve this.

How can I do this? I want to be able to view the photos via the Dropbox app but I dont want them appearing in the Gallery
Edit: Is it to do with linking device to Dropbox? I dont remember that option being there on my S3 and never had this issue then?
Edit 2: Unlinked device.Put my details in again.Must have missed the tickbox "Upload existing photos"

Settings -> Cloud -> on DropBox synchronization -> Picture and Video off
If it's just the gallery you don't want want them to appear in, you could try putting a blank file in that folder ".nomedia" that stops any images, mp3s etc... showing up in the gallery and music app respectively.

Post 2 is correct
Dropbox images showing in Gallery is a samsung service not dropbox.
It is configured in Menu > settings > cloud

And!!!
As this is a sync service, if you delete images from the gallery (dropbox images) it will also delete them from dropbox!

What about facebook pics? How do i get rid of them from showing in the gallery. I tried gallery>view by>Contents in device, but once i exit the gallery and re enter, the facebook albums still show up.
Facebook ones are deactivated in the facebook app itself.
I noticed that by setting up dropbox, it automatically places my dropbox video folders at the near top of my gallery folders before picasa albums and right after the camera roll. I was wondering if there was a way to sever this integration but keep dropbox on my phone? I've looked for gallery and dropbox settings but I cannot find anything to delink the apps.
within gallery you hit menu and then select "view by" and then "content in device"
but that just changes the view, afaik, which eliminates most of the clutter. i dont want dropbox albums or picasa to sync and i have not found a way yet either.
I just removed the built in Dropbox and use the one from market.

Yes, ive searched, nothing I've found has helped.
Normally I'd just ignore the app, but unfortunately I don't have a choice as its the only way to get a custom lock screen, as far as I can tell. My problem is basically just the threadbare options menu. I don't see any way to prevent it from displaying Picasa Web albums (yeah, sync is diabled) in the app itself, and the Gallery app isn't listed in the app management settings, so I can't clear the cache.
So if someone could point out to me how to clear the cache and to add images that are already on the SD card to the gallery, I'd appreciate it greatly.
Are you talking about gallery? Showing Picasa albums? In gallery click menu then click content to display 5 hen deselect your Picasa and dropbox. go into settings and application manager. Swipe left until you see all apps. Go to gallery and click clear data and cache then reboot all thumbnails will.
Oops did that backwards kill data and cache then go into gallery.

Thanks! There was nothing in the UI to indicate there were different columns of apps, so I had no idea I could swipe to see more.
