Maybe it was the Galaxy Nexus and Viper announced today. I personally hope not. I have scoured the net but can't find a thing. And I don't think it is LTE because unless you live under a rock you know it is coming to Sprint. Any ideas? It is driving me crazy. I know not to expect ICS on our phone until April. So, what is it? And are they still having something tomorrow? Last month it was everywhere that they had an event at 6pm on the 10th. You would think you would see something since it is tomorrow and I don't see it anywhere.
I'm expecting a rehash of LTE and "announcement" of GNex. Probably a new LTE android Tablet too.
Samsung is having a press conf in the next 10mins and the sprint galaxy Nexus may be there too if not there tomorrow also.
I also heard a rumor a while back from a few android blogs that sprint would be releasing a device with Intel as Intel finally gets in the game with android. Just a rumor though.

I'm guessing Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 with LTE is the tablet.
Well, I hope someone find something with a link that is to something pretty concrete. As for now. Samsung is about to have there CES event. Here is a link. It is starting now.

Kyocera Echo II?
It's the Galaxy Note and 4G LTE
They are buying T-Mobile USA?
Well, Samsung just said the Note and some new Tablet is coming to the US. They didn't mention carriers though. I am still having trouble finding anything about Sprint's event. I wonder if they are still having it.

I was watching it from Samsung's Facebook page and they mentioned it right in the press conference. I heard cnet had some technical difficulties though.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Yes, they were having audio issues. Maybe that was why I missed it. Plus, the damn thing kept buffering. So, maybe the Note isn't coming to Sprint. At least not now.
Sprint usually announces its new phones at CTIA, so don't expect much at CES.
I just read on another tech site that these two phones were only exposed to show that Sprint is coming to the LTE game. Since both phones are already on other carriers. It said they expect a more robust flagship phone when LTE actually goes live.
So, maybe CES is a bust. Looks like CTIA will be the next big hope. I am keeping my fingers crossed for the Epic Touch 2 with LTE to be the next big thing. Anyways, we will find out tomorrow what all the fuss is about. I am surprised nothing substantial has leaked.
Samsung is supposed to be announcing something in collaboration with sprint and Intel. Maybe its the new Intel phone?

It may be released next month by Google. But the US carriers are going to take a couple months to get them to us, the consumer.
For example, Samsung already gave Sprint the update for our phones beginning of October, but we won't be getting it until December.

I bet if that update was for the IPhone Sprint would have rolled it out already and wasted no time in supporting it.
Now I am talking about Apple updates here not Samsung. Just saying that if Sprint would have gotten a update from Apple the Apple users would have gotten it already. Unlike all the other users who has to wait and wait and be treated like a red headed step child.

The difference is that Apple sends updates directly. Samsung goes through Sprint. Sprint doesn't have much of a say as to when an Apple update gets released.

That was also before they made the promise to deliver the updates to devices that can get them in a reasonable time.
The moment got 3 or 4 updates in it's lifespan. It actually had 2.1 before the Hero.
The Epic got boofed sure, but still, I think this one will be different, and I think the Epic is the reason they didn't go with a whole new form factor.
Hopefully Samsung will follow HTC's lead. HTC announced 8 devices today that will be getting ICS in early 2012. 2 Sprint phones are on that list. http://tinyw.in/Fw1H

Obviously it'll be the SGS3
GNexus is already old and barely a step up from the ET4G
I dunno it's gonna be a hard decision. Im sure the Sprint GalNex will be out much sooner.

If your frustrated and feel we deserve more sign my petition.
I want two things from Samsung & Tmobile:
An android 4.0/iCS rom
A realistic date for getting this to customers

Sigh. Everyone here keeps thinking Samsung owes us some update or something.
Let me enlighten you on something. They don't. Neither does T-Mobile.
The fact is if you're on this board, you KNOW US-based versions of Samsung phones don't get software updates on time. If you wanted timely updates, you should have gotten a full priced I9100 to use. It's like the Galaxy Nexus vs the Galaxy S2. People bought the Nexus for it's dev support.
The I9100 came to the market more than 6 months before this phone. Guess what, it will get an ICS roughly about the same time before we do. This is just how the system works. Petition or no petition it ain't changing. We will have ICS eventually. Just not in March, or April. If we don't have it by October, then we can consider silly petitions again.

When you buy any product you are not owed a update. Tmobile could of said wifi calling is an update. This is all what you will get. Google promises nexus updates so they do gets updates. Untill they can or feel like they do not want to support it anymore. It may be bad business but its how it works. When you buy a device you are not guranateed anything. Except that it functions how it suppose to.

your logic is flawed. Did you sign something saying that Samsung would indeed give you an update. You spent 660 on the phone as is. Updates not included and with the understanding thereafter. If you buy aNY electronics nowadays you are prettyicy guaranteed that it will get outdated by newer versions of the same model or.updates that never get to.you. that is the world today. If you feel you are owed something then call Samsung or your carrier yourself . Even better yet, visit their corporate office and state your claims. Silly people.

As per the Telus website it says Android 4.0 - Available in 2012.
http://www.telusmobility.com/en/MB/samsung_galaxy_s_II_x/index.shtml
It doesn't say exactly when it will be available, just that it will be available in 2012.
I have also sent Telus Support messages via Twitter early February asking about Android 4.0 for the Galaxy S 2 and this is the response I received from the Telus rep:
We are working with Samsung to bring this update for spring 2012.
I also asked if the update would be pushed to our phones and his response was:
There is nothing official on the method yet, but typically you would use Kies software for the update.
Take all this with a grain of salt, those are just the responses I received. Either way, it will be sometime in 2012.

I spent $1100 on my laptop last March. Guess who isn't getting Windows 8 for free? I've never understood why people complain about this. You want free updates? Buy an Apple product. Talk bad about Apple all you want but they update iOS frequently. And every new OS they put out is free.
For those who have an Epic 4g Touch, are you going to get the Galaxy Nexus. I have received mine yesterday and liking it so far. The only things missing are custom roms and LTE. Here is a pic
Is battery life better or the same? On the nexus.

Picking up a Galaxy Nexus tomorrow at the store =]
I don't see the point. It is inferior hardware-wise to the SII, and by the time LTE is in full swing here in KC, the SIII will be available. And since I already have ICS on my SII, it just seems silly to me.
Does this one actually have the NFC chip? I was a little bummed the SGS2 couldn't use google beam or wallet.

I love the design of the Nexus and the specs are pretty good, almost equal to the E4GT, but what I dont like is the high price for "less" phone. The ice cream sandwhich that comes with the phone is great as well but could do with a little less flash and a little bit more efficiency in terms of smoothness and battery life. I still want one though because i dont like the physical buttons on my phone.

I probably forgot some other high end Sprint phones but I had those too. The GNex will be chic of the Month till the S3 is released. Then this phone will serve as an excellent back up..

Speaker is not low but kinda wish it came with two like the 4s. Comes with 4.0.4 update out the box. Screen is crazy nice. The one thing that irks me is that I'm having problems with Exchange. Doesn't sync with my work email. Gonna have to do some research on that issue. Also come with $10 in Google Wallet. Won't get the other 40-50 Google money from Sprint for a couple of weeks. Google beam can be used with any other android phone with an NFC chip. You can sent contacts, files, directions to a location quicker and more efficiently than bump or over bluetooth. Google wallet is still in beta so it can't be found at a lot of places, but on a few business trips to California I have seen some stores that will accept it. It sounds awesome though completely itemizes all your receipts and sync's them to you g-mail account. I was just upset when my girl friends nexus s had the technology when my brand new SGS2 didn't (sprint removed them all other variations on other carriers had this technology). I guess we found out why they removed the NFC chip, to entice people to upgrade to the Nexus

At&t is doing preorders starting April 16th with no confirmed release date. T-Mobile says May 1st is the release date for them. And Sprint has said nothing although I think it past through the FCC today which means around the May I would think. A regional manager from a Sprint corporate store told me July but I've rarely come across anyone that works at any carrier that usually knows what they are talking about.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
early may --> early june. I'm going to wait for the hype to die down before I get mine. I'll probably wait a month or two after it comes out so they can get all the bugs/hardware flaws worked out. Side by side, the S3 and S4 probably will have no visual differences in speed. Unless you are using your phone to run high end games/apps....I dont see the point of buying the s4. 4 processors are nice...but under normal circumstances your phone never really uses more than two cores for basic use.
Sprint is saying the HTC One is dropping on April 19, so Id say Samsung will try to get as close to that date as possible
