I really like TWRP 2.0 but it doesn't look like its available for the INC2? What is the best current Recovery available?
CWM. First made, always updated, most users, and needed by ROM Manager to function.

4ext recovery gives you full touch control but uses cwr as its backup source.

We do have twrp. It's in the development section.

I agree with zax10, 4EXT Touch recovery is the best available right now, even though it's in beta I have had no issues whatsoever and it is constantly being updated. The touch feature is very useful and much better than having to tap the volume buttons to cycle through the menu.
i too really enjoy 4ext
I'd personally recommend 4EXT recovery to anyone and everyone. It's truly the best. Madmaxx thought of everything. There's a superwipe in it, you can backup certain things instead of the whole ROM taking up more time. Plus its great for using boot manager when you can't get it to start, you can boot into recovery and restore your boot.img and reboot and its the same as booting to phone ROM if that's what you're trying to boot to.

One more vote for 4ext. Love the touch screen and options.
That's 4 for 4EXT recovery. Convenient. lol

4EXT works with ROM Manager... And ROM Manager is useless imho anyway.

Now that many of us are going in the mtd direction, how hard will it be for us to get team win recovery project now???

Shouldn't be too hard. Apparently we'll be supported on 2.2 (or maybe its 2.1. Its whichever one is the next release). Supposedly one of the devs for it has an epic.

I'm wanting to get a stock ROM (like completely stock, odexed and everything since all the stock based ROMs are deodexed) but I don't know how to do it without screwing around with crap.
What would happen if I renamed the ROM.zip to PG32IMG.zip and flashed via bootloader? Would it screw me over?? I s-off'd via revolutionary, so xtc clip'd people (andybones) didn't know what to tell me since its permanent and you don't have to worry about it. Any help is much appreciated.

Do you want a stock odexed rom that's rooted? or not rooted?

I don't know if flashing an ruu while s-off'd via revo would mess up anything.

I don't think it will because it would be a stock ROM but rooted I think.
Edit: scratch that the ruus that are in the app are img. files. I still think you can flash them from fastboot without a problem.

I've never quite thought of a ROM as being "comforting", but my goto is usually CM7 for now.
I like Liquid GB a lot. It isn't as flashy as some of the other Roms I've been running lately, but it's stable, quick, and seems to be very kind to my battery. I always leave a prepared backup of it on my phone in case I'm ever going to be travelling for a couple days. I load it up and all my worries will be abated until I get back home to flash the newest ICS Rom in it's place and deal with all the quirks.
The most comforting to me is Miui. I love when I get a call and the embarrassing hi res fullscreen pictures that I choose comes up of the particular contact.
Hello guys,
i have look into the clockworkmod download page:
http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries
and found the touch version of ClockWorkMod for the CDMA Wildfire S:
http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.8-marvelc.img
Unhappily i have a "normal" Wildfire S and can not test, if it works. But if it works, maybe we can port this recovery to the Wildfire S?
Thanks for answers!

Testing now. Will let you all know how it works, if it works.
Thanks. Nice find ONeill123.
Edit:
Flashed great in fastboot. Works great so far, as well.
Overall, buttons seem a bit large and it only uses half the screen. I believe this is so that it can still inform you whats happening in the lower half. (I'm correct. It tells you whats happening down there when I wiped cache)
It will actually log whats happening, where alquez's and official wouldn't. It also will fix permissions where alquez's wouldn't. (Official would, if I tried like 50 times.)
All buttons seem to work. Volume Up/Home=Up, Volume Down/Menu=Down. Back=Back. Power/Search=Select. You CAN scroll with your thumb.
As jmz has said, the touch recovery needs resized. But Koushik will absolutely not support touch recovery at the very least for our phone. (i believe it's all mdpi touch recoveries)
So, unless your planning on fixing/maintaining this, please don't post it.

Aokp for customization. Cm9 for cm support and stability. Not too say that aokp is unstable just saying it is more so than cm9. But you can't beat aokp. They are really both quite similar its just a personal prefrence.

LOL'd...............new arrivals: rotate weekly (keep notes, prepare to nandroid prior to jumping in).
.........sent from today's android = 4.0.4
It's true. I'm new to much of this. But I don't rotate to compare and contrast on paper. I do it to get a feel for the ROM changes.
Additionally, I've got a method for my nandroid's. Once with a brand new ROM (if I was content with using it daily, otherwise I don't bother). The second is after I load all my "daily" apps. My app data is backed up and stored separately. So when I load my daily apps, I end up with what I had before, just on a new Rom.

I recommend the one that challenges you the most to work with--that allows you the most choices for U/I-- so that ultimately your experience is OWNED by you + your device culminates a unique hand held machine that has been arrived thru YOUR user experience in time.................test 'em both.
