Hello guys,
i have look into the clockworkmod download page:
http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries
and found the touch version of ClockWorkMod for the CDMA Wildfire S:
http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.8-marvelc.img
Unhappily i have a "normal" Wildfire S and can not test, if it works. But if it works, maybe we can port this recovery to the Wildfire S?
Thanks for answers!
"Normal" Wildfire S
Sent from my HTC A510e using Tapatalk
Testing now. Will let you all know how it works, if it works.
Thanks. Nice find ONeill123.
Edit:
Flashed great in fastboot. Works great so far, as well.
Overall, buttons seem a bit large and it only uses half the screen. I believe this is so that it can still inform you whats happening in the lower half. (I'm correct. It tells you whats happening down there when I wiped cache)
It will actually log whats happening, where alquez's and official wouldn't. It also will fix permissions where alquez's wouldn't. (Official would, if I tried like 50 times.)
All buttons seem to work. Volume Up/Home=Up, Volume Down/Menu=Down. Back=Back. Power/Search=Select. You CAN scroll with your thumb.
As jmz has said, the touch recovery needs resized. But Koushik will absolutely not support touch recovery at the very least for our phone. (i believe it's all mdpi touch recoveries)
So, unless your planning on fixing/maintaining this, please don't post it.

This is true. Koush built and posted that before even realizing that the device was mdpi. but I mean it works just very very oversized. I am working diff angles for a touch recovery though
Cool, i just didn't know if it had the same problems as the official one did.

I tried it on my phone. The version number changed, but still had to choose manually. When I chose something it would reboot to my old recovery

Since alquez is the only one working on a port and he clearly states
"The only fully supported phone variant atm is MARVEL.
MARVELC/MARVELCT owners need to be a little patient and do not flash this rom until it's fixed (unless they have some dev experience - it's the kernel)"
my anwser is 'no there isnt'.
I doubt there ever will be.

working stock is for sure better than buggy anything ... thought cdma marvel has support for data2sd, oc and stuff, right ? so its not like there isn't anything out there....
like when we had locked bootloaders
At the moment her phone is bone stock, so no goodies at all. I'll probably put Simon's rom on it in a few days, but I need to give it a break for a bit. She needs time to forgive me, and remember how bad stock sucks!

is it possible? i have done some research and the only app i can find that does this does not support our phones. Boot manager pro is the name of it and the other one i found only supports the overseas SG2. I would like to mess with other roms but just hate having to flash back and forth.
I wish I could be of some help because I am very interested in the same. I have also searched for a way. Grub4android?? lol. Now that would be great!!

You can nandroid ... then flash then restore ... won't take that long like 5 mins
just wondering when you nand backup does that backup all the apps, messages, contacts, login info , etc.... or only the current rom wiped?
yes it backs up everything.
When you restore a nandroid are you also restoring the kernel and rom?
Or does it just restore your apps/data?
For instance -- Can I nandroid, wipe, flash blazer rom and then restore and have all my data + apps on Blazer?
Sorry for the noob question!
anybody try switchme

Haha i actually ported it.
First make a backup
Then wipe data. You can dirty flash if you're already running cm10.1 but don't dirty flashes are a no-no.
Then flash this:

Then flash this:

But WiFi/cell service doesn't work at all yet so just understand that before you flash.
Oh and also MAKE A BACKUP.

On the Evo 3d we had the option of CWM TWRP and 4ext. And the entire community pretty much ran with 4ext, Is there a reason is isn't supported on this device?

4Ext Recovery has nothing to do with the file-system directly, it's a recovery like CWM or TWRP.

It's not necessarily need, I'd just like being able to clear all cache's and battery stats and everything else in one touch.
I always preferred 4ext on my last phone, it's not killing me to not have, I just found it odd that they don't yet support the most supported device out there.
It's a great recovery but I'm not betting that it will come out for gnex anytime soon.
