Just wanted to commend you on this. Everyone would have gone out of their way to flame you had you not looked it up. But when you do the right thing.... crickets.
Anyway I wanted to thank you for looking it up.
But it should probably in general, and closed. Lol.

I know it's common knowledge that we can't flash current ROMS due to not being able to make calls after (I made that mistake myself, but luckily had a nandroid to restore).
Is there anything I can do with a stock rooted sprint galaxy nexus to help with development so that we can enjoy some of the great work you developers do? I'm not an expert but I am comfortable with adb, really I've only used it once (to root this phone), I'm just not shy about tinkering. Anything I can do to help please let me know.

I was begging for one the day folks got their Nexus. They are in the General Sprint Galaxy Nexus thread.
I'm not asking for an eta; but are we close to seeing ROM development for the Sprint gn?

OK so I just got the galaxy Nexus, I love it, the only this is the guy I got it from had it already rooted, if I want to unroot it someday where would be a great place to look, sorry if this a noob? Question, been away from android for almost a year

Dear Self-Proclaimed Noob,
The answer to your question can be found in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392310.
This is a toolkit. It will help you in your Noobish ways. There are those that claim toolkits do not teach you anything. I do not believe so, I believe they teach you how to use a toolkit. They help you to preserve the innocence and naivety that can only come from being a true Noob.
In closing, go forth, and prosper. And my the Droid be with you.
Thanks, this will help alot, got rusty having a iphone for a bit, definitely wasn't as good as android, glad I will be able to start learning

Agreed. Stay away from Toolkits. Sure, they're great and easy... but when something goes wrong (and it will), you'll be clueless. Do it the right way using fastboot and/or adb and you'll be able to troubleshoot your own problems without cluttering up the forum with a thousand "OMG I BRIKED MY NEXUS?!!?!" threads.
Thanks guy, I will do it that way then, I used to day alot of stuff back on the DROID x, these are two completely different phones in the way the fer rooted and flash, thanks. It will work also even though I don't know what it's rooted with or what rim its on?

Considering un-rooting and re-locking my GSM GN to sell it. I found this guide I am planning on using. Are there any problems anyone has encountered in returning their GN to stock I should be aware of? Thanks.
Gnex was made to unlock, relock, root, etc. I used Wug Toolkit many times without issues. You can find it on the Nexus 7 Android Development.

Allow me to assuage your emotional reactions:
1. I did read that thread. Read a lot of it, actually, and all I saw was a whole lot of "will this void my warranty?" "followed the steps and phone is bricked" "how I get drivers working" posts, often by people with post counts of around 4. There are 1,318 replies to that thread. Figure it out.
2. I searched, and there are no threads specifically discussing problems/complications from returning to stock in the GN board.
A lot of threads on XDA are going to be similar in nature. I felt I had pretty good reason to start a new thread. There's no reason to get upset over it, kids -- settle down.
This might seem like an odd request. I searched google and xda with no luck so I apologize if this is covered somewhere already. A point in the right direction is appreciated.
I got my gnex used on ebay right before 4.2.2 got pushed. I got the update and everything is working well, except for a few hiccups. I would like to flash the stock 4.2.2 image without unlocking the boot loader, or rooting if possible, but I am certainly not opposed to it. What is the best way?

by definition you cannot flash things without unlocking your bootloader. Unlocking will factory reset your phone, so be sure.

Use the GNex toolkit. If the one in the stick doesn't yet for 4.2.2, make a donation to the developer and get a key to update it easily. Apply the update and you can do what you want.

Download Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.3 from http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/ and follow the steps.
It is by far the easiest method to root/flash Nexus 4.

You do not need to Donate to use the GNex toolkit, It just adds an auto update function. I don't consider the unlock/root/flash scripts to be lazy, just convenient. With a kid in the house and another on the way I don't have much time to sit at a computer and hack away at my phone. If I need something done and it can be done with a few clicks, that's great, as long as you understand whats being done and how it works. I haven't used adb much since I moved from my OG droid, but I do know how to use it.

Don't pay any attention to the trolls. They are an extremely poor representation of what the community at large is about. You have successfully unlocked your bootloader which is the first major step to gaining root access. Are you using the GSM or CDMA version? Try to follow the steps outlined in this guide if you are using Verizon: http://androidforums.com/verizon-ga...gs-root-guide-more-updating-03-28-2013-a.html Shouldn't be too hard if you can follow some pretty easy instructions. It would also be worth your while to read through some of the documentation at the top of the post as it will better explain root as a whole. Feel free to message me if you have any issues.

Why does it matter? I answered his question. You did not. Perhaps next time you could link to your preference of walkthrough and answer the guys question instead of making fun of him. Good day.
Edit: Just went back and read that you actually didn't make fun of the guy, it was the others. Still, this whole thread could have been 2 posts had one of y'all just linked him a walkthrough. Its really not that hard.

By the way, I was actually trying to get him to LEARN by getting him to answer his own questions and figure it out... This stuff isn't rocket surgery
