no fastboot required on this kernal!
I did not create this or even upload it. I follow leech on twitter and he retweeted this kernal from 0xD34d which im assuming made it for leech's MIUI port! I flashed it in twrp on cm7 and so far all is well. very snappy and I'm stoked to let others know about it. 3333 in quadrants, enjoy!
install instructions:
download and place in SD card
reboot into recovery
make a backup!
flash zip in recovery
reboot!
in order to prevent the sod, put minimum frequency to 600. this prevents the device from going into a deep sleep. i personally run this kernel at 600min 1300max n it is super zippy.

Take out the battery. Put it back in and start your phone again. If the same happens repeat the battery pull but this time hold down on the volume bar and THEN press the power button to restart your phone. After it starts up in bootloader select recovery by moving the volume bar and then hit the power button again. This will bring you back to recovery where you can flash the rom again or restore your backup.

Also keep in mind that some roms can take up to 5 minutes to load the first time. Normally (but definetely NOT always) as long as it doesn't keep reloading the boot animation, everything is fine - the rom is building your file system on your first boot.

if you took the time to read about kernels and what they are you would know.
but, i'm in a good mood today:
Kernels govern your cpu speed and how to scale it. Some are locked to a certain frequency set and some are made adjustable, but you have to get an app that interacts with the kernel otherwise it runs at whatever it is preset to.
SetCPU is the one I used, but I know there are plenty out there that others would recommend and swear by in a heartbeat.

I'm using Virtuous rom 1.02 with the advanced kernel. I clocked mine at 475-1100mhz with a low battery profile switch at 275-887 (i think).
Check your rom specific kernel to make sure it runs best for your rom. The rest is personal preference.

Since you're on CyanogenMod, I recommend Pershoot's kernel (available through ROM Manager). If you're feeling bold, download Flippy's latest kernel. Since I'm running the CM-based PyroMod, Pershoot's kernel is built in.

If you open clockwork and your current recover is the same as newest version then there is no need to reflash recovery. The only reason to reflash clockwork is if there is a newer version out.

And I should probably mention that the colors are out of whack for a few seconds before it goes back to normal and boots up.
Edit: Everything's still there when it boots up everything's where it should be and nothing is missing or anything it just literally reboots instantly without warning or notice.
Edit: Could it be that I'm using advanced task killer? I figured it was okay since it was on the high security level setting, just throwing that out there

It is usually either a kernel panic or running out of RAM. You could try the V6 Supercharger for the RAM issue. As for the other I would always try odin clean stock then root and flash ROM and do not restore any data. Download and reinstall 3rd party apps fresh.

If by stock battery you mean the battery it came with then yes. I'm also running aggressive settings with v6 supercharger.
My only real concern was if it was damaging my phone in any way, or if something had already been damaged. But as I've said I really can't see anything out of whack aside from the reboots and colors. (the colors get inverted or negative or something for a few seconds on pink unicorn boot animation then goes back to normal and boots up)

When i look in settings, under tweaks.. and OC- i see it set no higher or allowing higher than 1000.
My Question remains- WHY is my GPRS automatically turning on, especially with Airplane mode on. I thought it was connected to my WIFI, but it turns on even if i have wifi off.
Do you actually mean gprs the gsm technology or do you really mean gps?
I doubt gprs is turning on since this is a cdma phone that doesn't support it.

Well eliminate one factor by flashing the latest nightly with stock kernel which allows you to OC within by going to settings/cyanogenmod settings/performance/ there will be a setting to allow for 1200 OC.
OR
Now that you have over 10 post ask in your kernels thread.

So, after messing with my issue a bit further. I have come to notice that the Mobile Data turns it's self on in either timely increments (once every 5-10 mins) Or It is scheduled to turn on every time the device is unlocked. My "Go Power" thing has reported that the Mobile data a lone is using up about 1/4 the power.
Also, i STILL have no seen ANY Over Clock option in ANY stock variable of this installation.
I HAVE noticed that every time i clean flash my phone, the home button does not work until at least a reboot of the device.
What is the latest version of gapps. available? I went to the IRC- and everyone pointed over to the ICS package, which i did try and it really killed my phone. I Have to stick with the Gingerbread.

Don't some power saving apps cycle data off and on on a schedule, rather than "always on"? If the problem started after you installed go power, or other battery saving apps/tweaks, I'd try uninstalling them.

I get stuck everytime unless I use the Darkside Cache Wipe. After running that, RC2 loaded like a dream. Still searching for Wifi Calling though.
*edit* I flashed RC2 from the last nightly. But everytime I would use CWM to flash the latest nightly, I would have weird errors, (stuck on boot screen, CWM wouldn't start the install process, etc.) I kept a copy of DARKSIDE CACHE WIPE and decided to try to run that prior to install. Flashed RC2, booted no problem.

It is recommended that you do a full wipe before updating between nightlies, as generally significant amount of bugs are fixed and new codes implemented, so there are alot of changes. Not doing a wipe can interfere with these changes. If you don't want to re-install all the apps again after every rom flash, try 'app2zip' from the market.
Here's the link for that app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=scd.app2zip&hl=en
It will let you pack all the apps you currently have and want into a CWM flashable zip, which you can flash right after you wipe and install a new rom to get back all your apps.

There's no porting required. Just get the firmware/stock ROM of the galaxy s2 and dig into the /system/media/audio/ui folder on your computer and there you will find all the click sounds, as well as unlock sounds. Just copy the ones you want from your computer into the sd card of your phone and then go into the same directory in your phone (the /audio/ui folder) and replace the click noises with the ones you copied over, making sure that the name of the files is the exact same as the ones you are replacing. Also make sure that the file permissions are the same as the other files in that folder. Done!
Hope that helps guys.
Cheers.
I am currently running RC2 with TDJs Venom 4 CM9 #3 Kernel. Using the badass governor to conserve battery. Usually this governor is fantastic and is amazing with performance and saving battery.
For some reason today, this ROM/Kernel/Governor combo is draining battery a lot faster than normal and I am not sure why.
2 hours ago my phone was at 100% battery. It's now down to 91%, almost a 5% drop per hour. Typically I would get 8 to 10% battery drop in 5 hours time running the badass governor. I haven't used my phone more today than I normally would, so battery shouldn't be dropping as quickly.
CPU Spy confirms my phone is going into deep sleep and has been in deep sleep for 85% of the time. That is good and that is what I want it to do. Then GSam Battery showed that a particular app was keeping the phone awake for 29mins. I froze that particular app 30mins ago and in the 30mins since I froze the app the battery still drained 2%.
Anyone else running the same setup as me and notice faster than normal battery drain?
I dont know if this has been talked about before. For the person on the other side to hear me good I have to speak louder than usual. What i mean is, that before, i was able to whisper when i was on the phone since i work in an office, but now after the last few nightlies, i have to talk louder into the mic for people to hear me good. I was running some tests myself and i find that the pickup on the mic is very low when using the phone as normal, but the pickup is fine when using the speaker phone (Im able to whisper and the mic will pick it up). I just wanted to know if this is the remains of the underwater effect that we once had?

Just flash via CWM.
Only tested on UCLH2.

All mods are CWM flash able..
Love the mod, but it doesn't work for me. I keep getting continuous "<app name> has stopped" (gmail, facebook, swype to name just a few) after rebooting...?
Then it locks up and keeps rebooting. I am on UCLH2.
If your on anything other than UCLH2 it may not work.. I'm using it on my daily driver...

I am on UCLH2, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it was a bad download. Trying it again.

I could just be talking nonsense, so forgive me if I do. Could this be a odex/deodex problem? Or something zip-align related?
I installed UCLH2 stock, using lite kernel 5.3 and rooted and debloated it myself. I also flashed the CRT off. Which makes it seem that the difference with your DD is odex/deodex or zip-align related, because I did not do anything like that.
Flashing CRT off again seems to fix the problems I previously experienced, by the way.
Correction: Flashing CRT off got it working well enough to back-up my data with Titanium back-up. Had to restore a nandroid because Play store kept failing when I tried to update apps.
Works like a charm dman. Thanks again.

Yes.. my dd is deodexed. If yours is still odexed then that is why it was freezing and rebooting. This includes the android.policy.jar which is deodexed..

I had to take time away from looking at code for cm10 and 9 for a bit and bring y'all some simple mods..lol..

Nothing wrong with that. I kinda like the stock rom and would be awesome with a few mods like the extended power menu you just added. That was one of things I missed from custom roms. Once again. Thanks for everything you do.

Dman, hope you don't mind but I added (screen off, long press volume skip track) to your EPM. BTW it works great on literom4. Please add to OP if you would like. Many apologies if you didn't like me editing your work, ill take it down if there's any problems. Thanks!

EDIT: Thanks to Dman for the EPM

Haha oops edited for dmans rom.
This should work. No promises, that's why we are testers, taking chances and if it fails, we just go back to our original phone state using a backup we made prior. Don't wanna brick(dunno if that is possible cuz this phone is beautiful) then make sure you backup in recovery
I gave it a go on UCLJ3 earlier, but its not working for me. Holding the power button does something cos I can feel it register, but no screen pops up, then about ten second later it crashes out
It also seems to have stolen my weather widget off my home screen for some reason too.

That's because its not compatible with UCLJ3. As this was built with UCLH2.. as stated in OP

I knew that, but I also knew people would ask the question if it would work, so thought I'd test for myself
It's working for me on the new update ! Although the reboot download not working ! It reboots the phone and just shows a android man quoting "download" not the normal download mode!

My apologies if I have offended you with my comment! I haven't had any trouble with your mod!
I recently flashed the one enewman17 added the tethering fix to, noticed the icon changes. hadn't needed to reboot download mode until yesterday! that's the only part I haven't tested! I've just been working and haven't had a chance to mention it here!
the download mode part wasn't a big deal to me since I hardly use it!
