SuperJustKitchen

I've ported my SuperJustKitchen's v0.7 (not released, yet) to work with the Artemis. Can someone test this ROM built with it for me to see if it actually boots (I don't have an Artemis to test with.)

very nice!
thanx a mil - will test tomorrow
greetz
ivanmmj very nice
A new kitchen, will test later
ive just tested the rom and everything seems to work fine except theres an issue with the backlight, it is at the dimmest level and theres no way to adjust it - trying through settings has no effect
edit: after goes into standby i will not wake up

The backlight problem is due to the backlight package I included. The same thing happened to the Herald.
The standby issue is a bug with 28002 and the Hermes (Someone else in the 28002 with a Hermes reported the same issue.)
I'll build another one with an older more stable release and I'll add a working backlight for you to test when I get home.

You were right. That fixed it on the Herald. I'll make sure I make the Artemis ROM with that as well.
OK. Try this one:
http://justkitchen.info/JustROMs/ArtemisTest2.7z
It's based on 23088.

[KERNEL] -2.6.35- Eternity Project for HTC Vision --- DIRTY --- TEST

Welcome to the Eternity Project Kernel for HTC Vision Thread!
The Eternity Project Kernel for HTC Vision (T-Mobile G2 & HTC Desire Z) is developed for gaining the maximum possible speed mantaining the maximum safety on our devices.
Features:
- Updated kernel (2.6.32.17 -> 2.6.35)
Kernel GIT Repository: http://gitorious.org/eternity-prj/eternityvision_2-6-35
Still some errors to correct.... and need help :|
Stay TuneD!
Thanks! Will test.
good stuff. porting the board files/dependancies, etc. is quite a bit of work, so my hats off to you!
will check it out.
thx for your efforts.
wow another?
I'm not 100% sure that I've ported all correctly (excluding some compiler errors that prevents the building ... and that I'm correcting)... so, well, pershoot, knowing your work I'd be proud if you take a look at the code
Anyway, I've corrected some other things, now I'm dealing with some errors on mddi.c ... I hope it'll be ready to test in some hours
Returning at work!
P.S.: It's ----SO---- dirty! I've uploaded it while testing and error checking!

yup for sure. i've gotten as far as the new QSD SPI bits, and put it down to work on other things... haven't gone back to it yet.
The new QSD SPI bits in the files uploaded are broken (prevents compilation), but locally I've already corrected them.
I've uploaded the files because I've done almost all the work, it needs only another percent of finalization...and I'm not committing every change in the same moment 'cause it would be painful
EDIT: Other things checked and fixed. Changes committed.
EDIT2: I'm stuck at the end. Anyone can help? Thanks!
Has there been any headway on this? I for one think this has a lot of potential.
Sent from my G2
thanks for your work. Is this kernel designed for AOSP or Stock or both? I'd love to have it compatible with Stock Rooted Rom
It's designed to work on stock Android, but I haven't had time to continue the work on it.
Unfortunately now I'm not at home and the only thing that keeps me connected is my G2...and anyway I'm on vacation with my girlfriend so you can understand the situation
However.
I'll watch at this when I'll get back home...
Resuming on 10/01

That is completely understandable, make sure you enjoy yourself. We can wait a little while in the backseat, but an updated kernel would be awesome . Just know that your efforts are appreciated. Thanks, and have fun!

Nandroid, and go for it . At it's current state I would expect a few things to be broken. Actually, gingerbread was designed to work with a .35 kernel so results might be favorable. The absolute worst thing that could happen is a bootloop, and you can fix that by flashing the stock kernel with adb. Let us know how it works.
Sounds cool..... stay safe

Bump for justice!
Do I need to build this to test on MIUI?
And can I OC to 1GHz with it? Or will I need to build one?
Or get someone else to build it

[Q] Difference between Rom and test build

Hey guys. Don't get angry at me 4 asking this question. What is the difference between a proper rom and a test build. Do they both have the same features?? Or are they different

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that a test build is still in the test stage of programming (okay, it's not going out on a limb...that's what it is).
Test builds are likely to have a few bugs and not be so polished. It's like any other software, if it passes the tests...then it gets released.
A test build might have more features, but might not be so stable and might crash more and more often.

Nope. I don't even have a Desire HD. But typically the dev who cooks the ROM will include a changelog in his post. If you read that, it should say what's new and what has changed.

MIUI 2.12.28/29 with CM9 base

Hello guys, I'm starting to port latest MIUI using as base the great job made by Arco with his CM9 port (Arco you're great!). Now, you might ask, why use CM9? well... cause I think is the best rom out there or, at least, the most stable and reliable. It's the one I'm using right now... but I really like the new features in the latest MIUI builds.
I'll try to port using the patchrom tool, right now I'm synching the git repository, as soon as it has finished and in my spare time, I'll start to work on it!
I'm an experienced linux user and a developer with some experience, though this is my first work on a mobile phone, and my goal is to make a stable and usable rom :fingers-crossed:
In a future, maybe, I might help improving kernel and fixing some bugs
So, should you have any useful suggestions, I'd like to hear them cause, as I said, it's my first port! otherwise wish me good luck
EDIT 01/06
Ok, I managed to sync and compile, though I got bootloop. Now I'm doing some deeper analysis of conflicts and manually applying rejected patches. It's my first time with smali code, but I guess I'm understanding something
This is great news! I really like MIUI! I have a suggestion, though I don't know if it will be useful. XD
There was an old MIUI ROM here, developed by utingbato. Although, it was based on CM9 Beta 4 and MIUI 2.8.10. But, as far I'm using it now, it's really kind of smooth and only the [system updates] and sometimes, the [theme manager] on crashes. The file manager there is kinda buggy, when I tried to move some of my files, it doesn't really move them, but says that the operation was completed. Same goes with deleting files. He applied some tweaks and stuff on the ROM too, I guess that's why its really smooth. The english language in the ROM is also not translated properly. Some of the buttons (specifically, the reboot options in power menu) is not translated properly.
I don't really know how any of the procedures of creating a ROM really, but I hope you can port some of his tweaks, to make the ROM smooth too. I don't think he has any github though, and he is kind of inactive lately. LINK: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963421
I hope the best for MIUI!
