Since I got to work this morning me and all of my Sprint subscribing coworkers are experiencing better signal strength and higher speeds than usual and is especially noticeable in places notorious for crappy signal... The same at my apartment.
Either a new tower went up.. Which is doubtful... Or is this part of the rollout of the system upgrades?
Central CT here... Anyone else noticed anything?

Damn, I am waiting to make the jump from VZW to this phone.... With speeds like the ones that are being reported I don't know if that's even logical.
My 4g is flying. Usually I only get about 6mbps and right now I just hit 14, with 1 bar. 3g is more or less the same

Mine aren't better, but something is going on. Signal has been very erratic on both my GSII and my 3D. In the process of working on towers?
I'm lucky if I get 2 mb on 4g in St. louis.

Mine defintely went up. Yesterday on speedtest I got a 102kb down. This morning in the same spot I got 128kb down. Watch out I'm flyin now!!!

3G speeds still, but, respectable. I ordinarily pull 200kbps to 400kbps with 0 to 1 bar at my desk. I'm getting 600 to 1300kbps with 1 to 3 bars.... Buried deep in a steel building. Outside I'm seeing full bars and hover around 2mbps where I usually get 600kbps ish with 2 or 3 bars. Heavy overcast with moderate rain.

I'd be interested to see how the speeds hold up later on in the day. Mine are always respectable in the morning and then go to sh*t in the afternoon hours.

Something is afoot!
I can confirm this and i am in dfw area.
Ppl rooted their phone and blaming on developers for loss of signals past couple days.
Still slow if not slower than usual where I live in Culver City.

btw, my 3g on speedtest typically registers like 50kbps, but in actuality, I do way better on app dls and webpages. I do trust the 4g readouts, though, which tend to be around 4-5 mbps.

call tech support, or better get them on chat. It's easier.
....tell them you have abysmally slow data speeds and want a data refresh. Every time I have activated a phone on Sprint since the E3D came out (that's been like 6 or 7 phones, lol) I have had to do this because of ABSURDLY slow data speeds....and this helped a ton.
If that doesn't help then maybe it's a hardware defect...if that doesn't help then the Sprint blows in your area.
Yup me and my friend are getting almost double the 3g speed and better 4g speed for the past week or two

My 3g has been super fast over the last few days.
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII EPIC 4g Touch on XDA Premium!
I'm not sure where people that are getting better data live. If it's in a major city it would make sense though. I would bet that places like NYC, LA, Miami ect may be getting the network beefed up in anticipation of the Iphone.
The last thing Sprint needs is to get crappy reviews on the Iphone due to a sluggish network.
My 3g is next to useless. And I live in San Antonio.

Bars have nothing to do with data...I have seen 0-1 bars and still pulled 600kbps DATA

I live in Conley ga which is about 5 miles long lol... but it's only about 15 miles from atlanta so I don't know....

I'm in Milwaukee. 3g is barely passable I unless you are near a freeway or the airport... Then I can pull 250kB down.
The rest of the time I average 30kB out less.

I live in the middle of Phoenix, AZ and i get about 0.50mbps down on average and we dont have 4G here.

I'm in Culver City - not far from LA - I'm getting 400k with 3G and rarely get 4G.
My data speeds have doubled in the last 5 days. I'm loving it.

Sprint's 3G is stupid slow. It's completely unusable around here. For example, the Android Market. Most things say they are "starting to download" then they never do.
I did a speed test and my ping was like 900~1100+ with a download speed of 7~13kbps and an upload speed of 50~100kbps or so.
Seriously, 7~13kbps download?
The only reason I put up with this crap is I'm almost NEVER away from wireless. I work in the technologies field with full gig-network access on almost all the campuses I'm at threw out the day and 105mbit at home.

Wow, that is really slow. I don't have it that bad lol. But with that ping and those speeds, it seems like something is uploading constantly. That's the only time I've ever seen speed tests like that for me, while i was uploading songs to Google music. That's interesting.
As for the speed test tho, i feel there is an issue with the actually test and specifically our 3g. The reason i say this is because the speed test will give me a result of 40-50kB/s, but then i will download a torrent at like 150kB/s.... all in the same area. Very weird.

Sprints download speed for me is around .12kbs to .45kbs in good reception areas... in the same areas ATT gets 3.5mbs and Verizon is very stable with good reception and stable internet that is around 1.5 mbs... so ATT is wicked fast 3g but the reception and internet are both hit and miss as far as coverage goes. Where as Verizon may not be the fastest internet, they are well within my personal tolerance and needs... and their coverage surpasses ATT by a long haul in my area... notice i haven't mentioned sprint? That's because my download speeds on average are (like previously stated) between 10kbs and 50kbs at most! 50kbs is the fastest I've ever gotten with the speestest.net app! Don't even get me started on call reception.... I've honestly had more dropped calls in a month and a half then I've had with every other company combined throughout my life. End rant

Is it me, or has the 4G been lost in Tampa? It could just be my phone, but I haven't been able to connect to 4g in over a week.
It was working (at half the speed I usually get) 2 Fridays ago. But, if I'm not mistaken, isn't Tampa scheduled for LTE by the end of the year? If so, they could be working on the towers in your area.

I'm in Tampa as well and there is 4g its just hard to find. I live over in Seminole heights and there is a tower less than a mile from me and I've gotten it but its very weak. My 3g was giving it a run for its money...

If I understand correctly, 4G Wimax towers (owned by Clearwire) should have nothing to do with 3G CDMA / 4G LTE towers (owned by Sprint).
I have to turn 4G off and on a few times to get a decent connection and when I do it disconnects a minute later.. best places I've seen are near USF and on 275 between Westshore Blvd & downtown. Everywhere else sucks. Also I've never once had a good connection indoors

I move around quite frequently and I find a decent amount of areas that have 4g, even in places that you wouldn't think it would be. If your near a Sprint store then most cases there will be 4g available. Inside the Tampa Pitcher Show, across from Sprint store, you can get service inside easily. Places out in Brandon and Valrico as well, in fact I was using 4g yesterday in IHOP out on 60. If LTE is covered as much as the current 4g then I'll be very happy... Oh and I thought I read that it was coming here this summer according to that unofficial sprint build out site. I won't contemplate even getting an LTE phone before then since 4g is so readily available for me, and we know how good the 3g can be at times.....

I was just in Tampa yesterday and got 4G. Also got 4G in St Petersburg also.
is there a way to reset the 4g? for some reason I can't connect to it at all, after a data reset, network refresh, everything I can think of. is it possible to try to change the realm to clearwire instead of sprintpcs?

So far, the only areas where i've gotten good 4g connections is near downtown, or closer to Oldsmar. I live in T-N-C and 4g is very sparatic (i think i spelled that right )
I have noticed its like that over on the east end of Fowler and Busch.. I'm not to sure why though.

Hey so I have a question for you guys. How fast are your 3G speeds? I'm asking because my gs3 won't go over 600 kb even at my best service. And my wifi is also extreamly slow. The wifi doesn't make sence to me Cuz my Droid x2 uses the same wifi and it gets triple the speed that my gs3 gets. Any one have the same problem or have a solution for this?
My WiFi is fine. 3g sucks.

Edit: However... look at some of the other tests down below...signal blows up around here, although I keep getting told just wait for LTE... I'm waiting...

LOL, that's about what I get when I'm roaming on your network(I'm with US Cellular). I thought it was just cause I was roaming.
I can't say the words "Sprint", "3G" and "Fast" in the same sentence without laughing (or crying) :laugh:

Nope.. its because the network here absolutely sucks. Ive done battle with Sprint for over a year about the crappy signal here and gotten nowhere.
Here are mine. Funny thing is I live in a very small town in Western New York and we got 2 Network Vision towers put up recently with 4 more on the way lol. But hey I'm not complaining

I've seen MAX almost 2 Mbps. Average speed is about 1. Pittsburgh area.
I just got 446 kbps this morning but 9507 kbps tonight. No 4g and 905 nightly cm10. It seems things run better a day or two after flashing. Could be my imagination.
OK forget it, I had the wifi turned on ... "if it's too good to be true..."
