Please sign this petition https://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/htcbootloader
This petitiion is to ask HTC to make a bootloader unlock tool for the Wildfire S so users can do what they want with the device they bought including using modified boot, recovery and system images. I feel that HTC should not lock there bootloaders at all because once a customer has bought the phone it is no longer HTC's property it belongs to the customer after buying the handset. So please HTC allow use to unlock are bootloaders so we can modifiy are phones the way we want them to be.
This is for the moment only way to unlock the Htc wildfire s .
Thanks

So only the devices listed can be unlocked, so they will probably never support the htc marvel.

unfortunately yes, our phones have only chance; we call it "XTC Clip"
Hmm i don't think that HTC will leave us with nothing. They have released the kernel source code for wildfire s. Be patient!

About Bootloader, yes they leave us because sported devices are only Sensation and Evo 3D not Marvel or another device..
It's gonna take at least 2012 to get our update.

perhaps if revolutionary becomes an opensource project more people could find a solution for the htc marvel...
It's not that htc is going to do anything against revolutionary's code, they do just the same, only not as good...
Anyone tried questioning HTC Support on this?
HTC support told me it may be supported. If that is of any help
F*ck it, im writing to them almost every day and so do my friends, even though they even don't got a HTC Let's hope that they'll listen. Peace from Swe folks
EVO 3D boot Loader unlock is out.
Has anyone tried unlocking their wildfire s using the HTC bootloader unlock for sensation or evo3d?
i know quite a dumb question, there must be validations of the phone model using serial number and software version and stuff but has anyone tried

Wildfire S must be upgraded via OTA to understand "fastboot oem get_identifier_token" command.
Otherwise returns an error when you try to do this

Then is there any OTA upgrade to this?
Probably there will be no unlock for marvel. Screw it, I've bought XTC in UK, starting to root device in september, as device come to my hands. CyanogenMod to replace sense, just for fun ;]
Anyone from Poland willing to unlock? PM me.
Come on HTC, unlock the bootloader for our Marvels, too!
We should set up a facebook page for the Wildfire S bootloader unlock if not already exists.
Yes!

You can't revert to S-on actually. It's a permanent unlock. Once it's S-off it is done forever.
HTC released a boot loader unlocker tool.
http://htcdev.com/bootloader/
Have any one tried this?
Edit:
Link to Arstechnica article: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/htc-unlocks-all-its-verizon-and-att-bootloaders/
Its aparently for ATT and Verizon phones: http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/news/2011/12/htc-has-released-a-tool.ars
Edit 2: It seems it does not work on our phones...: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20812409#post20812409
This is a long time, but not working with any version of wildfire s hboots.

Did you try it? People are reporting it to work for phones that are not listed in the website.
to be very clear.....the wildfire s doesn't support "fastboot oem" commands.....which are needed for the official method....so IT WON'T WORK

Figured that out reading the WFS Campaign thread as well as other forums... Thanks.
It's just this phone is unusable with all the garbage apps inside. I need to clean it. Otherwise I'll have to spend more money on another phone for my wife...
If it doesn't support fastboot, why it's then part of RUU update pack together with adb ?
The phone supports fastboot.
But the phone does not understand the oem command get_identifier_token for an unique key of the phone. And the bootloader hasn't got one or two lines at the start with the value of unlocked or locked like in the sensation xe.
So htc must give an update for hboot first, but they said, that they don't do it.

One-click unlock tool for all of the HTC device
this a Chinese software, you just connect your phone to computer and open the software, and click the unlock button。wait for the phone give you a information about :do you want to update?,and the choose yes.reboot the system and unlocked your phone.
-.- If you want to collect posts don't revive months old threads please!

Sorry,no problem.
Well i changed sim card with one from another company that is not in the list of 'RUU htc unlock bootloader'.My bootloader is unlocked but it's S-ON.so i cant root it and i cant pt CM-7 rom that i want to. How i make S-OFF again??????
Unless you used an xtc clip you never had s-off
Sent from my HTC_A510c using Tapatalk
Why?? im from greece. i made the process of unlocking bootloader in htcdev.com using a simcard of vodafone Gr but now i changed company (cosmote GR)that is not supported and doesn't exist in the list of RUU.Now when i start the phone using vol down and power button (with the new simcard inside) it says bootloader unlocked but S-ON.
---I m not sure if it was S-OFF with the previous simcard--.
p.s Thank u very much generraly and really really congratulations to the forums of xda for the great work and action.
If you unlock via HTCDev you are only unlocking the bootloader you are not making the phone into an S-Off state.
Changing similar card will not effect your bootloader, if your bootloader says unlocked then your unlocked. Just root and install cyanogenmod 7

No and no.
There are some Chinese websites that can unlock without using htcdev but once you unlock. the phone will know that it has been unlocked.
If you relock. The boot loader will say relocked rather than locked so HTC will know that it has been done. Even if you don't use their tools to do it
