Im updating OP as we find new stuff

Guys update - better camera quality. And faster snapping of pics.

This is never the Value Pack.
The Value Pack should based on Android 4
and not on Gingerbread.

What the hell is going on? Samsung said there wouldn't be a value pack so how on earth does this rom exist?

Samsung accidentally added this face unlock and new libs and tons of new features. There mistake.....maybe there employees were too drunk.....u never know.

It´s a Stock Rom = General Section not Development
and http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...ing-value-pack-instead-of-ice-cream-sandwich/

Hmmm.....maybe they made it......then because of some bug they cancelled it. I hope we find that bug and eliminate it.

Google wallet did work...

After getting the GN, I did the update to 4.0.2. Waited a few hours and then went to work. The store I work at has the ability to use NFC. I thought what the hell, I'll try it. Fired up the app cause it was already on my phone and created an account. Got the free $10. And then I made a purchase!!
What the hell? I though Verizon was blocking it. Anyway, I decide to update my apps thru the market and it brought down the newest Google Wallet APK from 12.12.11. Now when I open the app it states that I must have a Google Employee account and the only option is to press "ok" and it closes the app.
Anyone else tried this? Dont know if it works out the box and the update for it kills it or if it just takes time for Verizon to find out and they kill it on there side.

are you rooted? how did you get the app again. please elaborate
it is not on the market for me.
Honestly, I dont know how I got it. I thought it came with it. And I never had Wallet before on any ANdroid phone so it wasn't syncing it from prior. Was just going thru my apps list and it was there. Even after all this, I then unlocked my bootloader and that reset everything. Google wallet was still there and there was that update in the market. Going back to work today. Will probably lock and unlock again and try Wallet again to see if it works before updating it.
I am not rooted.
can you pull the apk and post up here please
Please post proof, I'm using a non rooted stock GSM NS and I don't see it in the market.

Using Astro or any other file explorer:
navigate to "/" (the root directory of the phone, root is not required to view the files here)
Go to the "System" folder
Long press on the "build" or "build.prop" file, and select "open as," then select "text"
I used "File Editor" in the pop up dialog that appears
DO NOT EDIT/CHANGE ANYTHING, just look!
scroll down and report all the lines that start with both "ro.build. ..." and "ro.product. ..."
I would bet you have a slightly different Google-employee-only test build...

I don't have it, nor can I locate it in the market, must be hidden. And mine's totally stock, got it yesterday at 9 AM.

Build.Prop test for ICS

I'm currently trying to pull everything together the community has done for market fixing into a new rom but for the time being i'm testing out some build prop changes. If anyone has any experience with this mind pointing out where I could be going wrong if I am?

Can you post a link to the build.prop before edits. I am not running ICS because of the hardware video issue. Also I would model it after the Galaxy Tab not the xoom.
I'll update the op with the original build.prop but I should clarify the original is already modified and comes from ninds build so I can't take credit for it before my changes.

[Q] How to find the market.apk???

Hey
Basically alot of apps in the market do not show up in the market because they are not compatible with the galaxy y. An example is scramble with firends" which doesnt show up in the market however i downloaded it and it worked on my phone but first i had to change the resolution from the default 120 to 100 using an app (my phone is rooted but i still have stock rom). Now i was wondering whether if i could clear the cache and data for the market.apk while my phone was set to 100dpi then would the market show all the apps that are not compatible with my phone because of the dpi? However the only problem is i can not find the market.apk in the list of all my apps??? I was wondering how do i get it to appear on the galaxy y like it does on other android phones/tablets???
Please help with this?
you need to edit your build.prop,
this is very risky but will detect your phone as another device and not SGY

But are you sure i don't need to clear the data of the market.apk first since i saw a thread which is similar to what you told me above but it says to clear market.apk data but i cant find this market.apk. instead does it mean the google play.apk???
its risky so ill make a backup of the build.prop but should i also make a nandroid backup? the only problem is i cant make a nandroid backup via the recovery mode?

[Rom] [4.2.2] PAC(k)-man 06.11.13

Third time compiling for this device, I am sure there will be errors/issues...
Download : PAC(k)-man ROM 06.11.13
Standard gapps package is recommended. BaNkS gapps package is also a good choice.
This was not pretested in any way this time, so please report back promptly about any serious issues so I can try to get them resolved and so other users don't have to suffer the same fate.
I do -not- own this device so please be patient.
This is -not- straight from source, there are many manual edits(additions, changes, removals) done after the rom is finished building before I upload it.
for more information on the rom, Unjustified Dev's Epic 4g thread for pretty pictures and stuff.
Thanks to the PAC-man team for rom source
Thanks to DerTeufel for the kernel source.
Thanks to Chainfire for SuperSU

and yes, halo))) great workin here.
btw on this rom have superuser and superSU, thats are normally?
thanks
Google Services seem slow
Not sure if it is just my phone or not, but Google Services seem slow. It took about an hour for the Play store to update to the new design. After that apps take forever to download. Google Now took minutes to just get through to the "Yes, I'm In" option.
Everything else seems to be working great!! Wireless, Phone calls, texts. Have not tried bluetooth yet. Not the smoothest I have seen, but my word, there are so many settings. Stayed up half the night playing with them...

Uh oh did I leave supersu in too? If so I meant just for supersu
Performance on my device wasn't as good as it was in past releases for me. Hope it gets better down the line for us all.
For any of us having issues with google play store apps taking for ever to update (or not updating at all) this build.prop appears to resolve the issue. Just replace your current build.prop with this one and reboot. All credit to the OP @Effsi and Thanks for the fix!!!

Should be as far as I know. Haven't been told about any major issues besides the market not working completely, but the fix is in this thread.
Any updates for this rom I loved running it on my Epic 4g.
