Anyone know how many bluetooth connection the GNex can handle at once? For example, I'd like to play GTA3 using my PS3 controller via Sixaxis and listen to the audio using a BT headset.
Just give it a go.. If it works or not report back to us

Nope, doesn't work. Turning on Sixaxis kills other BT connections.
i've been always under the impression that bluetooth only allows one connection at a time. only support i have was connecting my nexus one in my dads car listening to music, and then trying to answer a call with the bluetooth headset. apparently the headset had disconnected when i connected to the car.

I am interested in using the Blackberry Bluetooth Gateway (with my TP2) to stream A2DP music and my navigation app voice instructions to my RV stereo using the 3.5mm aux output on the Blackberry Bluetooth Gateway.
I don't actually own the Blackberry Gateway yet, so if there is a better product, let me know.
Question is, can I use the Gateway bluetooth for the A2DP streams and still send/receive calls on my Jawbone Prime headset at the same time.
I know that the A2DP audio will not continue when I am on a call. That is fine. But can I maintain connections to 2 bluetooth devices simultaneously, one for A2DP and one for phone calls?
Was just messing about with the phone to see if i could and it worked perfectly. Not sure about two different audio devices but you can use 2 bluetooth devices at the same time.
i have been able to use an external bluetooth gps reciever (with tom tom 7) and my bluetooth headset at the same time.
Does anyone know if I can utilize 2 BT connections at the same time? I want use a Parrot device to connect to my phone and a BT headset as well if I'm making any sense.

I don't think so. I think it is a limitation of BT

My understanding is that only 1 bluetooth radio connection can be made and be IN USE at any time.
So if you are actively connected to 1 device its using the radio.
Some BT headsets can be paired to multiple phones at the same time, but once you are in a call then the other connection is lost. Its more of a stand by connection while both are NOT in use.
If you were to stream music, it would be in use. So only 1 connection can be maintained.
However, when BT devices do different things they can properly hand off activity if the device doesn't have routing bugs. On my Epic I have stereo streaming to my car stereo, plus my headset. Two different profiles, and if I make a call or one comes in, the music is interrupted and it USUALLY goes to my headset. But, like I mentioned, bugs...
Im trying to have the tunein radio app or even youtube to play through my car speakers without connecting an aux cable?
it's entirely possible... read car manual to connect Phone to car BT.
Then...... read car manual to make sure it supports A2DP or the "headphone" profile.
if it doesn't support the stereo headphone, then music won't play over BT... "headset" profile is the one that allows you to pick up calls, but it's the headphone profile that allows music to play.
So if your car's BT connection doesn't support "headphone" profile, you're SOL.
Or buy a five dollar fm modulator to transmit audio over your cars fm radio. They often include a cradle and charger...

I just started going back to the gym and I use Bluetooth headphones with my note 2. I'm debating on buying a Bluetooth heart rate monitor to use with a couple of workout apps to track my calories being burned.
I'm wondering.. will I be able to connect both devices simultaneously?
In the car I connect to my head unit, cobra iradar and obd2 scanner. So I don't think you should Have a problem

I figured it wouldn't be an issue. Thanks

how....as far as i know....one connection can be made at a time; as soon as you connect one BT, the other got disconnected.
just like wifi and hotpost; your phone either is on wife mode to get internet connection from other or your phone is on wifi-hotpost mode to provide internet connection to others

You can simultaneously connect and use the devices only if they use different BT Profiles. For example, I routinely connect the Note2 to my car's BT receiver for phone calls (Hands-Free Profile, HFP), MP3 playback to the car's speakers (A2DP), and navigation using an external GPS device (Serial Port Profile, SPP). Works fine.

After you connect with your N7, what profiles are listed on the N7 for the speaker? Is it media, headset, none, or both? You might also try making sure your cell phone bt is off before you turn on the speaker and connect it with your tablet.

Root shouldn't have anything to do with it. Did you load a different rom, or are you still running stock?
