According to the post on Engadget, the galaxy nexus might possibly be coming to sprint and having lte. If it does and my area has lte I'm getting it!!!

I suspect it will be announce at CES, with a useless 4g chip until the end of the year. It was an official sprint ad.

But my other question, and I know we won't know until the full specs at released, but do you think it would have Wimax and lte or just lte? Similar to how AT&Ts lte phones have lte and hspa+

Wimax is frequently built right into the wifi chip, so it is possible, but I doubt it. It would be inelegant to have 3g, Wimax, and lte. Most likely will be 3g and lte.

This is apparently the coverage for sprint LTE when they finish it. Pretty interesting, hopefully its soon.
My area is covered but won't be active for almost 2 yrs plenty of time foe more awesome phones

Yeah I think that's the main problem, having to wait so long for LTE.

What are the lines supposed to represent?
I think they are supposed to represent different markets or something. Definitely not states
I won't be moving to Montana any time soon.

Hopefully they add lte coverage to the Seattle area soon. I am happy with my epic 4g touch for now but am looking forward to future sprint phones and better coverage.

Is there a way to know when a given market is on schedule to have LTE?

Gonna be a Dental Floss tycoon?
I love this map.
What's even more encouraging is that you have to keep in mind, this is only LTE coverage at the end of Network Vision. The end of Network Vision does not signal the end of LTE expansion; remember that LTE was added into NV, and is a broader network overhaul than just adding LTE. Sprint will continue to expand afterwards, possibly including repurposing the WiMax spectrum.

I'm guessing the lines represent major highways seeing that sprint tends to follow them as far as towers go
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Hell yea big ups to 4G & LTE being strong on the highways in Ohio lol

The lines are market areas.
I think those lines represent service regions.
Lol to the whole thread everyone guessing about the lines.

I was so surprised (and happy) when I noticed this lol. Very cool

Very cool, I still remember the old GSM vs. CDMA days where this was always an advantage to GSM. I'll have to read up on SVDO, it's funny this is no where advertised!
Im looking into buying this phone. Currently on a galaxy s3. I have no 4g lte coverage in my area. Is this phone 4g wimax capable as well as lte
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
No, the Sprint (toroplus) version does not have wimax.
WiMAX Lte phones do , not exist.either wimax or Lte.

enjoy those slightly better than 3g speeds on your 4g connection.
From now its only gonna get better!!!

Damn that's awful.. But proportional to Sprint's 3G speeds. Matches HSPA haha

Actually I got better speeds.
I thought the Note II handled simultaneous voice/data over 4G. I tried to use it today and couldn't even though I clearly had 4G connection.
Has this worked for anyone else? I'm wondering if I was really connected to the "enhanced" 3G and LTE
Sent from my NOTEworthy smartphone
Voice and LTE work simultaneously. Or at least on my phone.

I'm thinking that I may have been on the enhanced 3G and not actual LTE. Does your signal show 4G or LTE?
Thanks
Sent from my NOTEworthy smartphone
It shouldnt matter what 3G your on. Sprint does not have an enhanced 3g (4g). LTE is the only 4g that the Sprint Note 2 has. So if your running LTE it should work.
Oh and the phone doesn't show LTE only 4G icon.

This depends on what rom you are on. If stock then it will show 4g.some roms have it show lte when the phone is connected to 4g.
there is simultaneous voice/data over LTE but not on 3g. On a stock rom it will day 4g at the top.
