I've downloaded the original firmwire, and Flashtool. When I'm in flashmode, I get the message that I need to turn my phone off, and press the back button. When I'm pressing the back button and plugging in the USB cable, the sound of the USB is like it's not getting connected or something. It's a sound with the same tone, that repeats 3 times..
I got the MIUI Rom, but I need to change it back to the original, because of a: Sim Network Unlock Pin.. I think it's an error, so at least I have to go to the original firmwire to check, but I can't because the flashmode don't work.
Anyone got any idea what to do? I'm really desperate..
Thanks in advance !
Nvm, got it working. Close all my threads if it's possible
Does anyone know why I get: "Sim Network Unlock Pin" when I'm using MIUI rom?
When using the original firmwire, there was no problem.

if it gets detected.. there'll be another question
does it still enter BL (bootloader mode)? haven't been playing with my BA for a long time now, that i have already forgotten how to enter BL mode..
anyway.. if it still enters BL mode.. there may still be a lot of chance reviving it..
AW! i was not able to read the very first post carefully.. you are in the BL or bootloader mode.. to return to normal phone, just reset your device (poke the reset hole at the bottom) or remove the battery, replace it, then hit the power button..
getBL or enterBL is a program that resets your device and lets it enter BL (bootloader) mode.. you need to be in the bootloader mode to be able to flash new/upgrade ROMs..
anyway.. there is a more easier and safer/faster way of flashing roms that does not include the use of the memory card technique.. you only need the USB cable/cradle, your ROM and the RUU (upgrade utility) which will be run on the desktop pc.
where are you located in the phils? maybe i can help you..
Hi guys,
I did something very stupid and it seems I've bricked my arc for good
My Arc had unlocked bootloader and was on rooted 2.3.2. When the phone found firmware OTA update, I chose to download it, then the phone rebooted and started installing new firmware. After a minute or so, it turned off and that was the end, it's not possible to turn it on any more. The led won't even lit up. Is there anything I can do to revive it ?
Arrrgh, this exact same thing happened to me, I woke up and it said there was software update available (I have unlocked bootloader and rooted 2.3.2)
I blame still being mostly asleep on hitting ok. Now I have a brick!
Some more info.
I've tried pulling the battery and putting it back in, It still won't power on.
I've tried holding down menu and plugging it into USB to reflash it and the blue light doesn't come on.
Sorry to hear that, and many people have this problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1106250
Can't update firmaware through OTA after unlocking bootloader
Sorry to hear about your phone
I always turn of the "auto check for updates" thingy on android. Learned the hard way on my Desire when it got updated to Froyo over OTA and had to wait a while for root lol.
Anyway,SE provided the info to unlock the bootloader and that an OTA coming from them bricks the phone is kinda silly. Far as i know u can't update through SEUS (might be wrong) when it's unlocked and it would be a nice idea maybe to not be able to install the OTA update either.

won't work if you can't get it into flash mode.
Can't you get it into Fastboot mode (give it a few hours charge..) then pull the battery for 30 seconds...
then hold the menu button while plugging the usb cable in... should (in theory) go into fastboot mode - then you can fastboot flash a fresh system.img

Tried - no help though. Any other ideas? Or just to go and buy a new one?
By the way, did the same thing: my Arc LT15i has/had unlocked bootloader, rooted 2.3.2 (first firmware) and is/was 3.0.A.2.181. While preparing to try to lock bootloader in order to use SEUS and upgrade firmware, I've connected the phone which asked me to check for the updates and found T-mobile update (approx. 40Mb). Asked to dowloand and an idiot pressed "OK". And now, everything is black - just as the mask of the phone is.
The green light just blinks when the "power on" button is pressed, or charger is plugged in.
Can't it be unbricked with flashtool?

[UPDATE] to my previous post:
Steps I have done:
1. Charged the battery for 4-5 hours
2. Flashed my Arc using the manual for flashing by @Step666
3. The progress went well and at the end there was a message:
"INFO - Now unplug the device and power it on
INFO - Then go to application settings
INFO - turn on Unknown Sources and Debugging"
I have tried to turn on the phone. There was a small vibration as when you're turning on the phone (note: before flashing there was not even this vibration when pressing power on button), but the screen remains black.
Any ideas for next step(s)? Thanks for trying to help!

How can you repair a bricked phone with pc companion? Dont u need the phone to be booted and running?
No, but it will need flash mode. Hold back button while plugging in usb to pc. If not recognized, use Wotan server.

Found the problem myself, after sliding up the little black test point cover, it interfered with the screen, so holding the top left corner tight enabled the screen, so shook the phone a bit and it's fine now, must have been wedged somewhere it shouldn't have been.

This may be a bit late, but I have had the same issues in getting it into flash mode. There is a button inside the case (if you take the back off) then press that and hold the reset button, you'll get it into a different mode. On Windows 7 it recognises it as a disk called VDfu. From here however I have no ideas on what I can do to flash it.
I previously had a childpad that I flashed successfully with the rockchip flash tool, however with this mode on this childpad I can't get it to recognise the device in that way ...
There does appear to be some success with this, however steps don't exist for the flash procedure that I can find ...
I have a rooted ZL with a stock rom. Today I got an update for some Sony app (forget which one) and I tried to integrate it into the rom using Titanium BU. That seemed to fail and Titanium just kept on trying. So, I turned the phone off and tried to start it back up again. Now I'm stuck in a loop. It gets to the SONY logo and then starts again.
I've read through some of the other boot loop posts here and I tried a few things already. I've tried the reset button in the back by the SD card. I held it for 10 seconds until I got the second set of vibrations. I tried turning it back on again and I'm still stuck in the loop. I download the companion software (Bridge for Mac. Same as PC companion) and it can't find the device. Actually, at one point in the boot loop it says it is connecting but then shortly after it says no device detected. This cycle continues as the boot loops.
Please, can anybody help me here? Can I flash a new rom seeing as it is rooted? If so, point me in the right direction as I don't know how.

Can you go to recovery...try flashing custom rom...if your unlocked bootloader, try flashing custom kernel as well...try that...
If you have pc companion, you can restore your phone...turn off your phone then press down volume button then connect USB port...then pc will recognize it...then you can restore it...
If pc companion can't do it, try SEUS....

I already said in my original post that I've tried the companion software. I can't get it to recognize the device.
I have tried to boot into recovery mode but am failing. I tried powering on while repeatedly pressing vol up but it just brings up the Sony logo and reboots into the same loop. So, I can't get it to connect to the computer via USB and I can't see how to flash a ROM without being able to get to recovery. Can anybody offer any suggestion other than to throw it away and buy another? I would greatly appreciate it.

SEUS is a little different than pc companion...google it...with it you will be able to restore your phone...
It have step by step on how to restore it to original state...
If you have ftf file and know how to flash it...then your good to go...
Don't repeatedly press the volume button when connecting via USB, when its off, press and hold volume down button while connecting the USB cable, led will turn blue...that's is flash mod...and you will be able to flash ftf file...
It's the same with SEUS when trying to restore it...

Thanks, I'll have to try on my Windows machine when I get home. It's not working on the Mac with the companion software. SEUS is PC only.
I did try connecting while holding the vol down key. I got a quick red led flash followed by a quick green flash, then nothing. No blue, and the computer doesn't see it. I did get the blue led when connecting with the vol up key. But, there is no indication that the computer sees the device.
I'm losing hope here. If I can't get a pc to recognize the device then no companion software or SEUS is going to help. It sucks that you can't hard reset the device without needing to be able to connect to a PC.
Success!
I was able to reload the OS using the SEUS. Big sigh of relief!
Thank you to all that helped. It is greatly appreciated.

Man I had this same issue, it worked!!! Thank you
I have a Xperia ZL and recently I changed the screen lock pattern but then I forgot it ! After 5 tries it asks me my gmail but I do not have a gmail. I use a hotmail email associated to google to acess youtube and google play.
So I starting looking for a solution: bypass the screenlock or hard reset but did not get a solution until now.
Tried this process:
button volume+ and button power
button volume- and button power
button volume+ and - and button power
pressing yellow 'off' button in the back of the cell phone for 15 seconds (3 vibrations) and nothing.
Tried hard reset by PC Companion too, but I got this message:
'There is no software available for your device.
Details: Sony Update Engine doesn't have software available for your device.
Troubleshooting: Please Try Again Later
If you still encounter problems, please report issues to Sony Mobile and provide the error above'
I'm looking for an answer! I've found some rooting and flashing guides to change the firmware but I prefer an easier and safe solution ! But if there's not.. I can try this way. Thanks !
Edit1: I was trying to unlock bootloader to flash stock rom after but USB debugging is disabled (And my screen is locked, can't enable it).. what can I do?
U can try flashtool
+1 for FlashTool. If you don't care about retaining your data, just download and flash an FTF. You don't need a USB debugging for that. As long as your phone can go into flash mode (device off -> hold Vol. Down -> plug in USB), you are good.
BTW, aren't you supposed to have a PIN backup option when using a pattern? I thought so, but can't recall for sure, as I don't use pattern unlock...
