Blurry camera issues on aosp roms - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Are there any fixes for butty images taken with the camera using AOSP roms?
I've been bouncing back and forth between CM7 nightlies and Decks 1.3. The camera is producing extremely blurry images and videos. This doesn't happen on the Sense roms I've tried. To give an idea the camera is so blurry that Goggles and Amazon cannot identify barcodes. I've cleaned the lens and if I flash Mikg or Swagged this issue disappears so I'm pretty sure it's a driver issue or something.
Thanks.

Sorry blurry not butty images. ;-)

Have you cleaned your lenses? Check to see if it is zoomed in. Maybe try also clearing cache and data in application settings.

Vanilla rom

I really like the vanilla look of CM 6 a lot, much more than the look of CM7. However, for some reason CM6 gave me random issues causing me to stick with Fresh 3.5. Is there another rom out there that looks just like CM6 but has everything working, especially 4g? Or is CM 6 the only rom for the EVO with that look.
What are these random issues?

modnation (pretty much all thoughtlesskyle on this one) recently made a theme that does just this. check my sig. it's the one called spring cleaning.
My corporate calendar would never consistently sync properly and I had weird camera freezes, front camera never working. I tried wiping, clearing data, reflashing, redownloading, you name it. Finally just through in the towel.

here's an actual link to the theme. it's a froyo (that's cm6) theme for cm7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13420115

Works fine for me on Codename. Have not had a single problem with it.
think its a size issue cause it either f/c or says size too small ...
mine will fc whenever I go into the actual picture taking part of the app. The social parts of the app work perfect though. Running the goodness rom

I am having the same issue. When I try to take a pic, it force closes. I am running MIJJAHZ rom. Any ideas?

I have CM9 alpha 2 with the FC02 kernel and I can take the pictures fine. Where I run into problems is if I am listening to music or podcasts and snap a picture, Instagram mutes all audio until I force close it and then all my sound comes back. I'm pretty sure it is muting it for the shutter sound and then won't un-mute so it has to be killed. Anybody else getting this? Any possible fixes or workarounds?

In CM9 alpha 2 you have to keep Advanced Camera on or it will crash after you take a photo and accept it.
I actually just wiped my phone and it works fine now! Made a backup of my important apps first though : )

Sounds like the issue lies with people on ICS? I've been experiencing the same thing with calkulin's 1.3a rom.
Latest update fixed it for me!

MIUI Camera quick help

Hi all, I'm new to Inc 2, coming from Droid x2(fml). anyway.. im running latest miui, and cameras dont work properly.. anyone have a working camera zip that i can flash? much appreciation
Have you tried clearing the cache and Dalvik cache?
Sent from my HTC Incredible 2 using xda premium
Which MIUI build are you running? There's more than one port floating around right now that seem to be actively supported. If it's an ICS/JB build, there have been known issues with the camera in the past (I haven't kept up with it too much as MIUI builds never seem to play nicely on my device). Also, what do you mean by the camera "not working" properly? Is the camera app Force Closing, are the images saving with a green or yellow tint to them, or is there ripping or tearing on one side of the image?
Like mentioned above, try clearing the cache/dalvik cache in Recovery, as well as clearing the cache and data from in Settings->Apps.
Ill give that a try

Worked like a charm. Preciate it big homie

Well seems as if the problem is back. When I take a picture, it has yellowish green lines up and down the screen. Although they are clear when I look at them in gallery. Also, instagram has the same problem while taking photos.
I'm running miui 1.8.26
Well on miui's thread it says 1.8.26, but in my phone it says build number 112300 (1.12.30 ?)

Instagram didn't work for me either. And I realized that camera shutter bug that has those lines appear. So, it must be 'normal'.

For a gb build 1 12 9 is last stable build or you can go to the new ics build it works great also.
Sent from my HTC Incredible 2 using Tapatalk
Yes, I'd either go back to 1.12.09, which was the last stable build with data, or upgrade to the CDMA version of the ICS MIUI. That's the version I'm on, and I have almost no complaints. It is based on Sense, so the camera and ffc work great!
How are you getting data or phone on 1.12.30? People were experiencing phone force close issues with all buildbot versions past 1.12.09 of GB MIUI.
i tried this and it didn't help me for long on MIUI. I finally gave up and went back to a Sense ROM.

Blurry background, lockscreen, and contact pics on ICS ROMS

I thought this may be something someone has asked before, but either my searching ability sucks or it hasnt been.
Ive noticed on any ICS ROM Ive used when I choose a pic for background/lockscreen, its blurry. Same with contact pics...theyre blurry also. They are NOT blurry when I look at them in gallery though, only when set as background/lockscreen/contact pic.
ROMS Ive used are most from Rushing, Jedi Mind Trick both the 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 versions.
Any ideas?
Anyone?

I've heard of ROMs specifically using high res images for contact pics etc, to fix this issue.
So,
Your not alone
I don't remember which ROM had a fix,
You are not crazy, they r indeed blurry.

Flawlessly working camera app for cyanogenmod 10

I was hunting around for a camera that would work, when i found an app called camera ics +
No greenscreen to report anywhere, no blurriness, it just, works!
Could be useful for devs too? We could finally have a perfect cyanogenmod rom!

Heres the google play link mate, just come across one problem, iff you try and delete pictures and video through the app it force closes, but its not exactly a massive problem

Other than the green screen and no auto/manual focus during video, I don't find anything wrong with the stock CM 10/10.1 camera. There's no blurriness if the lighting is bright or flash is used.

I just found it quite slow, and maybe the blurriness was just cos of the lack of auto focus Didnt realise that, but yea i wasnt that keen on it.

I'm getting best results with snap camera on codefire x after a lot of experementing. Camera ICS+ hasn't seen much development lately like camera jb+.
But to be honest, imho there is no better camera like any sense stock before latest officially suppported by htc, especially panorama mode.

I've reverted back to AOSPX after playing around with the Jellybean Roms, so its not an issue anymore I forgot how good it is! Flawless!
