I really like the vanilla look of CM 6 a lot, much more than the look of CM7. However, for some reason CM6 gave me random issues causing me to stick with Fresh 3.5. Is there another rom out there that looks just like CM6 but has everything working, especially 4g? Or is CM 6 the only rom for the EVO with that look.
What are these random issues?

modnation (pretty much all thoughtlesskyle on this one) recently made a theme that does just this. check my sig. it's the one called spring cleaning.
My corporate calendar would never consistently sync properly and I had weird camera freezes, front camera never working. I tried wiping, clearing data, reflashing, redownloading, you name it. Finally just through in the towel.

here's an actual link to the theme. it's a froyo (that's cm6) theme for cm7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13420115

Hey there
Which rom should I flash?
CM6 or CM7?
Why?
Thanks =)
Cm7 still has a few bugs to work out.
If you want a stable, ready to go rom, 6.
If you never use your gps, 7

Yeah, cm7. Rocks

I'm running PyroMod simply for the actual A2SD capability, and it's running as flawless as any other CM-based ROM.

Stable? Yes.
Ready to go? No; it's still plagued with the "unknown number" issue with many G2s.
As far as the GPS, I've been running the CM nightlies ever since RC2 and have never had an issue.

Just wondering if there is GB for incredible with working netflix app. Tough to give up netflix now that we've got it.

As of now, only GB for incredible with working Netflix is cyanogenmod7.

Cool thanks. I left cm7 and have been a little bored ever since so this is good news. Back to cm for rc! Thx again.

No problem! I give the developers credit, its pretty cool that they've gotten sense 3.0 features working on our phone but when it comes to speed, stability and compatibility, nothing beats CM7 and that's why I stick with it.

GingerBread MIUI also supports netflix.
This worked for my friend when his EVO Shift GB had audio but no video:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090706
He only had to flash the minimal.
Thanks i'll try.

I'm running GB 2.3.4 omfgb rom and the latest update of netflix v1.3.0 no longer works. When I try to play a vid it goes to the loading screen and then right back to the main screen. If I use my backup of the previous version 1.2.2 it works fine.
It is slightly annoying that the app keeps notifying me that there is an update available, but at least that is only upon launching the app and returning to the menu from watching a vid.
I was just curious if anyone else was having any issues like this.
leak GB for inc and Netflix
I am running the leak Gingerbread and the latest Netflix(1.3.0 build 246)
and it works perfectly!
Works on Synergy for Dinc

I have tried many of the leaked gingerbreads just to find that this or that doesn't work. The best that I have found for battery life and everything works is this rom.

This is the most complete rom I have tested. Good luck

All the info you need "should" be in the OP for the ROM. For instance SRF 1.2 requires you to also flash a kernel of your choice. Most ROMs are EXT4 these days but there are a few RFS ROMs out there. And almost all include a kernel. So if you want to try someone's recommended ROM for battery life, just remember to run several backups first, a nand and something like Titanium Backup.

I liked simply aosp, it was a good ROM. I ran the revolted kernel with it and got good battery life and performance. if u did triple wipes in cwm like u were supposed to, then it would be like starting a new ROM with nothing on it. Are u sure u flashed it right?
Edit: flashing roms on the epic is very similar to flashing them on the evo, minus the cool amon-ra recovery

When modding someone else's phone that it the kind of ROM you want. The one that makes some new graphics and keeps everything else the same. What launcher is on her phone? If it is still Touchwiz, get her to start using another launcher since a lot of ROMs remove twlauncher as bloat. I got ADW for my GF and I use Zeam. It will save you a homescreen nightmare.

well, as long as it works, then you're good to go. i always found that flashing without wiping data or restoring data from a previous flash has a tendency to cause issues with the rom later on. if u do have any problems, u may have to go back into cwm and wipe data as well as the cache and dalvik (3x/ea) then reflash your rom. but again, if it ain't broke... also, kenny said something about the touchwiz launcher... that launcher is included in the simply aosp rom under the "simply settings" app, as are the gingerbread launcher and the froyo launcher. i like touchwiz ok, i prefer the gingerbread launcher over that tho.
Im running kush deck pre alpha 7 and installed the flash update and still not getting any flash...is this a known issue?
I'm having the same issue.
Same issue in pre alpha 8. Assuming its a bug.
hopefully it is fixed soon, i mean i can deal without it but its a nice addition to the inc

Well, I brought myself to removing my CM10.2 and trying the MIUI ROM. It was a very slick, very smooth ROM. I overall enjoyed it. But with it being a ROM of course it had a few minor bugs. And I did have a few dislikes. So I'm gonna list a few things I personally noticed about it. Fell free to post your thoughts and any resolutions to anything I'm gonna lay out.
PROS:
-a smooth, soft feeling touch that was full of color and a very nice setup. The was miui was set up in settings for example was on of a kind. I was not disappointed. The theme app that was there gave me full control of changing the status bar, lock screen, home screen, etc. You have full control of customization. WiFi also seemed to work just fine.
CONS:
- Sadly, my LTE didn't appear to work. I tried adjusting my setting to fix it. No avail and that kinda was frustrating. But with WiFi working it didn't pose to much of a issue. I also experienced to apps for my gallery, and I was unable to delete it because it was a system app. Some of the themes I downloaded froze my phone, causing me to remove my battery and restart my phone. I wasn't bothered by it to much, I'm rather used to having to do that with previous phone.
Over all if you like a fresh and fast ROM you will love MIUI. But with these few issues I went back to cm. As I need my LTE cause my phone is also a work phone and I need the fastest internet I can get. So feel free to post your thoughts on MIUI and any fixes. Because I would like to switch back and continue using MIUI.

LTE works you just have to select it in settings when you first flash the rom because it doesn't default on. Reason there are 2 galleries is because MIUI has its own gallery and since we have to use 4.2 camera it comes with its only gallery also hide one in a folder if you dont like one. And theme issue I've never experienced this

Thanks for the advice. Looking forward to flashing back and getting it sorted out

I love the visual development compared to all other ROM.
Looks great.. but I'm still in love with AOSP.
Right out of the box, I think MIUI looks a lot like ios . Maybe too much.
It is a great ROM though, and very user-friendly.
Could I see a screen shot of the phone? Keypad, in call. These are things people over look, but this is our phone is it not? For most if not everyone on here, the only phone they use.
