I'm absolutely sick of T-Mobile IV had nothing but problems with notifications n email notifications not been received the Tec team are useless its like talking to a brick wall! And the say its unlimited internet that's rubbish. Is anyone else having the problems I'm experiencing with T-Mobile s network. I honestly think there blocking notifications ports and not telling there customers. Anyway just wanted to now if anyone is having same problems as me.

MY t-mobile atrix is just fine on cm7.
What rom are you using?
have you changed baseband?
do you have data roming active?
I had problems with T-Mobile for a few days between Xmas and New Year. I could only connect via T-Mobile/Orange and this ment no data connection.
Luckily I was at home over the holidays and so had WiFi.
Back to the normal T-Mobile service with data connections now though.
Maybe they just had network outages
Hi macboy there is a post on the tmobile forums that suggests social notifications are suppressed on pay as you go. But that wouldn't include email. There seem to be some defy that networking suddenly fails, cured by a reboot. Check your sim is N3 type, visit local store. If it is then send it back.

Ment email notifications.

Your default baseband is 0.59
02 but you will get full service with 3.4.11 or if you have the option 3.4.179
Easiest way to check sim is n type is to pop into s store

Hi all,
Since today my desire will show the uploading arrow flashing as if it is using data but the download one never shows any activity and no apps or internet pages will load. The app market says it cannot connect as if the mobile internet was turned off. My WiFi works fine but my mob data does not. Any ideas what the problem may be?

i had this problem with a de branded (with froyo 2.2 .ruu download) orange handset could not get it to work spent 2 hrs talking to orange about the problem no reason given or found, if i did reset then go into recovery console but do nothing for a while then battery pull it would come back for an undefined period of time phone ended up in a bowl of water orange care are replacing it
Thanks for the advice mate but I don't have the luxury of a replacement handset as I bought the phone off the net and stuck my own sim in it. Mine is a de branded Vodafone running 2.2 froyo Rom. Any other ideas that might help me cure this problem?

This is what it is sounding like to me.
Phone, Vodafone and have them check their side? (Also, how old is your sim card?)
My sim card is about a year old now. Do you think I should be checking it out and possibly getting a new one?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I seriously doubt your SIM card is to blame if it was working ok previously.
One thought that does occur to me is are you regularly using MMS? If so, do you have a separate APN for MMS set up?
I'm just wondering if perhaps your phone is trying to send an MMS and continually failing.
Regards,
Dave
i didn't mean put it in water i just said that's what happened to mine so i couldn't get it sorted and looked like it would have been sent back
hello,
I've just installed the skype(latest ver) on my Defy and I'm absolutely imposible to make any calls (incoming/outgoing). It is actually making calls but all I hear is clicking noise and a very stuttering voice - absolutely rubish. Suppose I'm using 3G data ( it says "H" on the task bar wich sometimes changes to "3G" don't know what's the difference)
Phone is Tmob-UK, prety much untoched, unruted.
Can any one make a calls on Defy?
If so, what am I doing wrong? is there any settings I'm missing?
Thanks for the help?
P.S. same thing happens on my old phone (nokia 5800) using the very same SIM card.
T-mobile uk will throttle voip applications over 3g (inc skype) unless you upgrade to broadband max (or something like that). Should work fine over wifi though.

I'm using web&walk on t-mobile uk as well, and I can't hear a thing.
So is there any throtling on 3G for skype or not?
I have friends on t-mob uk and they can use skype just fine. (confused)
So I got a used T-mobile G2 yesterday and to my pleasant surprise the firmware version was 1.22. I followed the Wiki procedure to root the phone and then flashed CM7.0.3.
Unfortunately, I can only access the internet through wifi. The mobile network icon shows 3G/H and the up/down arrows even flash but nothing happens (I can't open webpages, for example). I also upgraded to the newest G2 radio but that didn't fix anything.
Any ideas?

The first thing I would try is to wipe using the superwipeg2+.zip and ghul's vision_efs_wipe.zip and then reflash the rom. That will most likely fix it, but if it doesnt, there are a whole lot of things eliminated by trying that and you're that much closer to a solution.

Tried that, didn't work.
I've also called T-Mobile support because until yesterday I was using the Xperia X10i, and last time I switched phones I had to call them, then restart my phone. They said my SIM card wasn't 3G compatible but that's obviously wrong because I had HSPA consistently at home with the X10. So it's either an issue I'm having with CM7 or some problem on T-Mobile's end.
Unfortunately, I didn't check whether internet worked on the stock ROM before I rooted.
Edit: I'm considering unrooting it and going back to stock to see if it works but I would really like to keep Gingerbread and 1GHz, so I'll do that as a last resort.
Edit 2: My impatient ass did it anyway. Now I'm back on the stock T-Mobile ROM without root and still have no internet access (both on pre-OTA 1.19 and OTA 1.22). Looks like I'll have to talk to T-Mobile about this.
Edit 3: Oh snap, I must apologise for being stupid. T-Mobile still had the IMEI number for the X10i for my phone number and apparently you can only own one phone per line. They have now changed the details and I have internet access on my G2! I will try shortly with CM7 but I don't think it should be a problem.
Edit 4: Well it turns out this wasn't CM7's fault after all. 3G internet works fine in CM7, but I'm not sure if HSPA+ shows up as H+ or just stays H.

Are you using your old SIM or the one that came with the G2? If you're using your old one, call TMo and have them activate the one that came with the G2.

Thanks but my old SIM from 2007 still works fine. The used G2 I bought didn't come with a SIM. If I can't get HSPA+ in my adventures around Austin this week I'll get a new SIM.

It will just say 'H' when you're getting HSPA access. As far as 'H+' showing up, I've never seen it on my G2 and I live in Tampa, Fl which is one of the first places they roll out new network tech. I would definetely try and get a new sim though, I had an older one and even though my phone would indicate "4G", I was never fully getting it because of my old sim. They'll hook you right up for free at a tmo store if your sim needs an upgrade

Hey everyone,
Used the guide about 3 months ago to root/debrand/etc my G2 from T-Mobile, flashed CM7 (not sure the version - was a while ago).
Anywho, wife broke her iPhone so I brought her over to the green side by setting her up on the rooted G2. Her carrier is ATT. At first everything worked except voicemail, but a call to ATT fixed that by changing some iPhone settings.
The problem that she's had the past few weeks is that about 30% of her incoming calls ring twice, and give a busy tone. It is not fully random, it is always the same phone numbers that do not go through (mine being one of them). The other calls go through no problem.
I have not flashed any radios to the phone, and to my knowledge she has not changed any type of settings or blacklisted me & others. Thanks for your help, its annoying to have to text "call me" as the only way through.
Sorry to bump, just wondering if anyone has any ideas on this one?
Thanks in advance
only thing i can think of is the number has somehow been blacklisted, are you 100% sure numbers havent been accidently blacklisted on your or her phone? if it only happens with certain numbers then it has to be a blocking issue
Sent from a htc desire z
I'll double check when home from work. It wouldn't be a radio issue? If it comes down to it, do you think a wipe and install of latest CM will fix it?
very much doubt it is rom/radio related as it only happens with certain numbers, if after checking that nothing has been blacklisted then you could try a full wipe reinstall, doubt a cache wipe would help, i am fairly certain that some numbers have been accidently blacklisted though
Sent from a htc desire z
Att might have messed up somthing. What did they change to get voicemail working? I would recomend using googlevoice if your not already. Also check too see if you have any numbers forwarded to the old voicemail. Your wife may have had custom settings for a few people? I've never owned an iphone so im not sure of the options. All forwarded calls get handled by att so changing roms wont fix it. However your phone can add/change blocklists and forward numbers. Good luck!

You guys are good! Just got a hold of her and she gave a big "oooops!" when she saw me and her mom were blacklisted. Actually, seeing as how it was just us 2 I bet it was purposeful ;P
As far as att and iphone goes, they have special backend services to handle iphone voicemails etc. She's still on the iphone data as its cheaper but on a regular voicemail setup. She's limited to 2g speeds but I heard that's due to the bandwidth used by att and on the G2?

Yea G2 doesnt support att 3g bands. Edge worked fine for me on my g1 with att. Plenty fast for maps/gps and limited web browsing, plus when are you not in range of wifi?

hi guys,
I have been a lurker for a while, didn't actually have anything meaningful to contribute (to create a new post/thread), i.e. until now!
Bought a galaxy nexus in April when Google started selling it on the Play store. I did not root it and/or modify it in anyway other than trying out a few apps I developed.
Given that background, 3G/HSPA data has not been working on the phone ever since I got and installed the Jelly Bean OTA update.
I thought I also had the Wifi issues that others are facing, but it turned out to be just a setting (Keep WiFi ON during sleep was set to NEVER by the JellyBean update, am pretty sure I didn't do it).
Do you guys have any clue as to what might be happening here? Any troubleshooting tips?
I am on the AT&T prepaid, data was fine until the JellyBean update. My friend with galaxy nexus also started having this problem post the OTA update, but he is AT&T post paid.
any insights???
thank you!
EDIT:
Also, I forgot to mention in my initial post ..
I get good signals and 3G or H also shows up next to the signal bars, but they are in grey.

I didn't call AT&T because I know thats exactly how they are going to reply. If you didn't know it before, AT&T claims the $50 unlimited talk/text/web is unlimited web only for dumb phones but for smartphones you`ll need a separate data top-up. However, I have been using 3G with the same SIM card from November 2011. I had a Nokia N95 till April and then bought the galaxy nexus.....I didn't add the data top-up.
So at first when I started having this problem I thought AT&T finally started blocking 3G on the nexus, but later found out that my friend who is also on AT&T but on a post paid contract also has this same problem from the day he got JB OTA.
Unfortunately, I never went to Phone Information settings until after I got the JB update, so I do not know how it was before the OTA. .
