Has anyone tried either of these app to see if call recording is supported out of the box won't out any kernel mods?

Looks like call supporting is listed.
For Qualcom chips looks like kernel support is needed

Nice plant!
Call Recorder - Total Recall by Killer Mobile is pretty good.
Extensive UI, and good customer support.
It's in the MP, with a free trial period I believe.
Recordings both sides as clear as a bell.
No kernel mods needed. There is also a Quick Set Up for the SE4GT.
Have never tried the 2 apps in your links though.
TotalRecall
I use TotalRecall and it is awesome.
No bugs.
Ok I tried both in my OP and both work. Thanks guys
I use RecordMyCall

So, i'm about to get a new phone which MAY be an SGS2.
However i need to know if it can record calls properly, without all this external speaker bull**** ?
Currently i own SGS and its useless in this regard.
If SGS2 doesnt record properly, which of new dualcores does ?
Yes it does. Just use CallRecorder from the market.
CallRecorder works great on the S2, the quality of the sound is perfect. The downside is that when you transfer the wav. file to your laptop, the file format is not recognised.
I have downloaded some software to my pc that converts wav format to mp3 but the file is still not recognised.
Any advice please.
There seems to be quite a few CallRecorder apps on the market, could you please give a market link to the one you are referring too please.
Call recorder has a little green android next to it in market.

No, it doesnt
Killer mobile have just updated their Total Recall app for android and cleared out a couple bugs, this now seems to work just fine for me. It also has the option to record in 3gp, wav, mp3, amr, plus you can auto upload to evernote or e-mail out through gmail.
Call quality is pretty good, only downside is it will not work with blue tooth head sets, correction it does work and record but you cant hear the person your talking to but the recording comes out fine lol.
Ill try the other one recommended here and see if its any better on the quality side but best thing for me with TR is you can set it to prompt at the end of the call to save or not so routine calls or family ones can be deleted without taking up space, you can also use as a dictaphone with a instant record button widget and remote sms into it to record when you have left it in a room and want to know what's been said if your feeling a little paranoid lol.
Is there any free call recorder which works without having to install new ROM?
I use stock 2.3.3 ROM and would like to continue using stock ROM.
I saw "audio hack" on forum - is it needed?
Maybe I have to upgrade to 2.3.5?
Maybe I need kernel supporting it (I use Speedmod)?
I've tried 5 programs and all of them doesn;t record anything or records silence. (dind't try TotalRecall because it isn't free).
alternatively you can try MIUI rom which comes with build in call recording. =)
I don't want MIUI, I don't want alternative ROM, I only need to know why sometimes call recording works, and sometimes doesn't. Is it ROM problem, kernel problem, lack of libraries problem?
Search forum for hacked call app it has native call recording works with any rom.

I use callrecorder from svalec, it works perfectly with stock kernel.
Total Recall with recording strategy C works perfect.

Please stop spamming about Total Recall, all threads about call recording are full of that. Total Recall isn't free and I ask for a free solution.
I've tried callrecorder, it seems to work, thank you!
Hi, my girlfriend use an iphone 4 and well obviously I use SGS2.
is there a video call app other than skype? we've tried fring and qik, but really bad video quality.
so is there an app that will work for android + iphone 4?
i've tried the modded skype by pulser and the other dev(sorry i forgot), it has the video call feature but when use the video option, my gf accept the call but skype made it voice call, hence fail to video call~~
skype from phone should be able to make calls to desktop pc and iphone 4's skype right?
Try Tango...

To be honest, the video calling feature on android sucks. On iphone face time calling is clear and reliable, were as on android you have to resort to 3rd party apps, which pretty much suck. So you can't expect cross platform calling to work properly when android to android pretty much sucks. Av tried nearly all the available video calling apps, and none impressed me in comparison to face time calling.

Whatever works best for you!

well it says in their site coming soon for SGS2? found in browser's market but incompatible with device.
looks promising though.
I've used Skype from my phone to my friend's iPhone and the video quality was brilliant. Just make sure you're on WiFi. Don't forget, this is a requirement for facetime on iPhone, so that's the only way to compare quality.

thanks for the link but i have them already.
speaking of skype, i have problems video calling to iphone 4. calling to desktop computer has no problem though. when i called ip4, it connects to video for moment(but just black with the video buttons) then immediately changed to voice call and it will be changing forth or so until i end it. any clue?
Just tested with v5 and iPhone4 and iPod4 sgs2. One autoswitch to audio only in 20 test calls on wifi. Also limiting resolution in advanced options might help. I left it on auto.
One note. If your GF on iPhone has app off in suspend and not in app then after she accepts call she has to enable video manually by selecting camera icon and choosing which camera she wants to use.

Perfectly smooth video on Tango for me too.
Tested and works on:
SGS <-> SGS
SGS <-> iCrap Touch
Anyway for:
1. Recording calls directly from line.
2. In-Call background music.
3. In-Call voice change.
May be there's custom kernel's having in-call permission, but which one is stable for these functionalities and if possible how to do that with rooted stock kernel and rom.
Hey is there anybody who can help...?
I found a in-call recorder app but it was paid so does not use that. The in-call voice change is impossible in this phone I guess. I have tried searching it, but does not found any app that can change voice in call!!!
Sent from my GT-S5360 using Tapatalk
Ok you can also use "all call recorder", it's a free app supporting record from both parties... But with this phone the other party voice recording is restricted ... I think we can't record other party voice with the stock kernel (with paid or free recorder). So I asked for custom kernel if any supporting in-call access!
Is our phone incapable of call recording !
A must have feature for a smart phone...

[Solved]2-way Call recording and other
wtf do u call this thread "solved" for ?
Removed the solved tag
I mainly targeted on call recording both way.
Now I can record both party sounds.
Though there is no kernel support :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: , can you suggest a stable kernel for this.
And if possible low latency audio processing.
Being an andoid novice, and not much a coder, I was wondering if any one had any information about 2way call recording on Toro.
Right now I am on Purity Rom using AK's dummy ED kernel...
I do have call recording working using ALSAmixer and CallRecoder by skvalex (much thanks to him for a great app). Now let me preface this that it does work, sometimes. I can recorded both sides of the call SOMETIMES. I can always hear myself, but it seems 1/2 the time I can hear the other party and 1/2 the time they sound like they're quite distant, barely audible. So I did some research and, experimented w/ the standard api settings, none of which work, and I was curious as it says for 2way call recording it requires a kernel path:
1) is 2 way call recorded an API issue in the ROM, or in the kernel, or in both? (I found this, but not being a programmer, I don't know what it all means... http://developer.android.com/reference/android/media/MediaRecorder.AudioSource.html#VOICE_CALL )
2) where is the source for the kernel patch so that I can maybe inquire to the kernel developer to see if they can implement it
3) are they any known functioning kernels/roms for Toro that allow uplink/downlink recording?
Any information would be appreciated.
I am from the UK and we can't use the Google dialer for recording calls. Tried a couple of apps but can't get it working properly.
Have anyone managed to find a solution e.g 3rd party app for decent call recording without root and if so which settings do you use?
Thanks
Same here, would love to use call recording with the Google dialer.
Presently I use True Phone which allows for call recording (I am rooted, though ).....
I've been using call recorder by Skvalex with all of my Pixel devices for years. It works better with root but can be used without. I've used it with root access with all of my other devices but so far I haven't rooted my 6 pro. I was actually surprised at how well it works without root access. It's a paid app but you get a 7 day trial to see if you like it. I can't remember right off hand how much it cost but it is well worth the price. Here is the link. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...cord-phone-calls-from-the-phone-line.1441643/

Found a solution, Cube ACR works quite well.

In order for call recording software to work, it needs to be installed as a privileged system application. You can't just user-install an untrusted package and have it work, except through wacky hacks like recording both sides by using the microphone on super-high sensitivity and then normalizing.
