[Q] Renaming an icon pack to fit the galaxy s2 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hey all i need some assistance, i wanted to use an icon pack that someone made for the motorola photon from sprint and its named Rounds PSD.psd. However after I saved the file to my sd card and I try to view the icons via desktop visualizer and it gives me the option to view them via quickpic or image viewer or gallery it says load failed, or image not viewable, or it just stays black. I think I must rename the file but dont know what to rename it so it can be viewed on the galaxy s2. Any help if possible. heres the link to the file posted awhile back from the creator.

Ummm, the psd you downloaded is the photoshop template for the icons, you need to download the attached zip files and extract them to a folder, each icon is a separate image . They are PNG's so you should be able to use them without much trouble ....

Let me try that.

Heres a written thanks because it worked and I just hit your thanks button just now.

Green Homescreen

Can someone help me out pls. I am looking fo the xml file for the green homescreen. I have the das model and it doesnt come with it. Thanks in advance
Dezipped and copy this files on application data, home....
Thanks.. I appreciate the file but this is the blue theme, I am looking for the green one exactly like this one....
This is green file
Thanks! much appreciated. Now not to be a pain but is there a way to change all the other screens so that it matches ( i.e. start menu, call screen, ect..) just a question no biggie if not. Thanks again.
My HTC.home.xml is in read-only... so I cannot copy the new version.
Do you have a tip to solve this issue ?
Just rename the newer file (but the part before the file extension).
Another question: What to do to have the "HTC_BrandingBrickImg_320x27" implemented in the BLUE theme = call progress?
I didn't find any place in the HTC.home - file where to change/enter it and although I can use the blue theme, there is still the green BrickImg
Is there a gray (or preferably black) version of the theme?
Thanks!
Green Home screen
Sorry. It doesn't allow to copy even after changing the name of file HTC.home.xml, could you help? Many thanks
install
Where can instal & how the zip file at smartphone?
Extract the zip file, copy these 4 files to your Smartphone's "Application Data>Home" folder. Then go to settings>Home Screen to apply it.
I don't understand one thing with the WM5 landscape homescreens. There are many nice out there. But non of them does include the "HTC_CallProgressBkg" image file. This means, with alternative homescreen, the UI graphics can be changed, but the phone application interface remains always default, which means green HTC colors.

[WAD2] Storm Theme for WVGA

I have modified Mallmans Storm theme to provide a single day agenda on the first page
4 pages: Desktop, Applications, Weather and Calendar
I have also included buttons for Bluetooth, Wifi, Sound and signal (comms manager) in a 'status' area at the top of the page.
On the desktop, the messages (white is for SMS and red is for voicemail), clicking on the red one will dial Voicemail in the UK, white will open "SMS". The email will open my default folder so you will need to change the shortcut for that.
Applications is a mixture of Storm Icons and default icons, I have lots of apps that I don't have time to create icons for so have allowed both to used on the applications page. Weather page is simple and does for me. Calendar provides 2 days worth of events.
I don't have a contacts page as I have mapped a single press of the 'green' button to iContact 6.45BE. Double press launches the phone dialer.
Normal instructions for installing a WAD2 theme. All of my icons and the wallpaper are contained within the zip file and you just need to unzip the file and then copy the folder to Program Files\Lakeridge\Wisbar Advance\Theme and then open WAD2, select 'Settings' by holding the stylus on the screen and select 'Change Theme'.
Thanks to Mallman for providing the base for this.
Any questions just ask away.
The 5Mb file can be downloaded from

Thanks. I can download the zip file OK but when I try to unzip it asks for a password. Looks like page_desktop and page_applications are password protected? Can you help.
Even tho you have given installation instructions i still cant install the theme. Is there anything else required? I have created the folders that you mentioned but still no success.
Also when i unzip the file it says that there are some files missing. Can you please check and upload the correct file as this seems to be a brilliant theme!!
Wait since you mention "created folders"...did you install WAD before? Because after that all that needs to be done is copy the "BB Storm Theme" folder extracted from the zip into WAD's theme folder, start WAD, right-click somewhere on the desktop page, choose Settings and then Change Theme, or Search Theme.

And for Chris5304: Your downloaded zip file is either corrupt, or you use an old packing program. Try free 7-Zip, it can also handle 00x file endings, and becomes part of your shortcuts when you right-click on your PC desktop. http://www.7-zip.org/

Thanks to ur help I managed to install the theme but it does not work properly. Infact i have extra windows icons that wont go away and when i click them it says "incorrect pathway"....I really like this theme and really want it to work!!!!
Well its natural to have Icons that lead nowhere at first, since the paths to your installed programs are not always the same as in GLOC's. Already your memory card might be named differently. So in order to adjust the paths you have to learn WAD a little bit. You will manage eventually, as I did.

Plenty of threads on WAD, you will need to read up a bit but for the basics try this:
press and hold anywhere to get a menu with "Author Mode" as an option. Select this. Then press and hold on a button which doesn't go anywhere for you. Choose "Properties". Click on "Script". Click on "Launch a program" and then "Edit". Click the drop down list arrow next to the program path and choose a program on your machine from the resulting list.
If this is still not clear I think you should search other threads here and on Lakeridge web site forums as this is getting off topic!
Hi, firstly thanks for this great theme, took me a while to figure out what WAD2
I have one slight problem, when on the desktop after I have checked my email or sms and I click close the phone dialer shows up with "Save to Contacts" any idea what is causing this. I am using Duttys 2.6 rom and have the latest trial version of WAD2.
Also how did you make the icons as I would love to create some for HD tweak and othe rapps I use.
Thanks
Sully
Glad you like it.
With regards to adding new contacts I am not sure but it has only just started happening with mine. I am also using Dutty 2.6 extreme and it comes up, it didn't come up when I used the vanilla rom, so I wonder if it is something to do with the new Rom.
With regards to the icons, I am not sure but I know that if you search the Lakeridge forums there are some posted there. I personally use the application icons as I can't be bothered to create new icons!!
Regards
Brilliant mate, love it ! Thanks.
I have the same problem
Probably I do not undestand well
I have instaled WAD2 in my touch hd
I try to unzip your theme zip file, on my desktop, but there are many, many errors.
where is my mistake ?
thanks in advance for your help

I assume the original image is actually in framework-res.apk?
If so, I suspect it's a decompiling/recompiling problem.
Also, if it's just a png or jpg you're replacing, there's no need to decompile - just drop the new image into the correct folder in the apk using 7-Zip.

Hi, thanks for reply, basically i have just taken a pic from someoneone elses theme and swapped pic with that of the theme i am using so should be right format (right?) but how when i have extracted with 7zip how do i get it all back as .apk file... i used a program called formatter to do it first time!!
Don't extract it, make sure the image you want to replace is named the same and it isn't a .9.png...open the framework-res with 7zip (open archive) navigate to the necessary folder and drop your new png in. That should work
If you extract it you break the signature, that's why you're getting a bootloop.

Thanks matey, just done itand it works great, didnt realise it was that easy...
EDIT: Also thanks to you m1keyb, you answered as i sent this post!! lol :good:
If the picture you're replacing is in the same apk and is the same format (png, jpg) and has the same name and is the same size (px x px) then it ought to be OK.
If the picture you want use is OK, open the apk with 7-Zip (don't unzip it), and simply drop the picture in the correct folder and it'll replace the picture that's already there.
Edit: sn0wman1 edited the post I was replying to and m1keyb replied too - lol, I'm slow!

[Q] air command themes

Are there any air command themes that work with the sm p600. I'm running [ROM]Hashcheck-Hybrid-v1[P600][BUCND1 4.4.2]FAST. I've tried flashing the zips from the note 3 forums with no luck.

You can edit them in framework.res apk with ninja morph. If you can wait till tomorrow I can post exactly how to do it if you want. I'm out right now and don't have my tablet. You can download ninja morph from play store and download the theme you want and I'll explain tommoro. It's very easy.
I tried to flash also but the note 3 has a different folder there in then ours so I think that's why they don't flash rite.

That would be great, I'm in no hurry. Thanks for your help I didn't think of trying to modify the apk.
You have to open ninja morph and click new project.
Then click on system /framework/then framework res.apk, it will extract the apk.
Next you have to go into a file explorer, I use es file explorer.Click on android themes folder then workspace/framework res/res/drawable Xhdpi.
Then in that folder you will find the air command files. There are 10 files in there you need to replace.
Now go to your downloads and extract the air command zip you want.It will put a folder in your downloads of the extracted zip.In the extracted folder keep clicking until you can't go into anymore folders.Ill attach a screen shot of it with the 10 files .
Now copy those 10 files into workspace/framework res/res/drawable Xhdpi. It will ask you to replace the ones you have in there, just click yes.
Now your good to go. Open ninja morph again , make sure it restarts the app.Click on finish projects and you'll see framework res apk.Click that and it compiles file again. It will ask a few questions.I don't remember what but you need to replace that file you changed so I think that is 1 question. I think the other one is if you want to zip align it.I click no. I would make a copy of your framework apk before you change just in case something goes wrong but it also makes a backup in the Android themes folder. If you need help feel free to pm me.
I attached screen shot of the minion one I use and a screen shot of what files you need to copy.
I also might have used astro file manager or root explorer to change the files. I definitely used es file explorer to extract the air command zip I used.

I was looking and if you download the one you want and go into the folder and get to drawable Xxhdpi and change to Xhdpi it might flash fine. I think because the double xx one is for note 3 and one X is for our tablet.Alls it can do is not work again.Ill yet tomorrow and see if it works. It would be a lot easier then doing what I explained.

I figured it out. I unzipped the theme and renamed the res folder to drawable-sw800dp-xhdpi, then zipped the META-INF & vrtheme folders up. Flashed and it works perfect! Tried a couple different themes from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2628481 they all worked.

Did you rename the res\drawable-xxhdpi? I am on Kitkat and unable to make it work. At best, I get the background fine and the icons displaced to the right.

yes what i did was download a themed aircommand zip from the link to the other thread then unzipped it and renamed the folder then zipped back up and flashed. I your trying to theme one yourself you could download a zipped theme and look to see if there's a file your missing or need to change mabey.
Finally working!

Thanks. The missing links were two.
First, renaming to sw800dp-xhdpi instead of xhdpi. Maybe the kitkat upgrade changed the folder used, as the earlier posts all mentioned it worked fine with xhdpi.
Second, I had to resize some of the images from the themes by sibinn ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49861789#post49861789) The original size is optimised for Note 3 and also works fine on Note 2. In sw800dp folder though, the image sizes are slightly different. After resising, it worked perfectly.

[Q] Custom Preview images?

Hello, does anyone know how to change the preview image that is shown after I want to open a widget and tap the folder icon? I tried renaming the zw file to zip, replacing the screen.png with my own screen.png (same size) and again renaming to zw. But when I wanted to open the widget, the preview image was right but the order of all objects in the widget was totally wrong, so my background shape was over some other items which no one could see now. Later, I only unzipped and then zipped again the zw file without replacing the png, but the same (except of the preview image of course) happened.
Does anyone have a solution for that? Thanks in advance
