[Q] air command themes - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Are there any air command themes that work with the sm p600. I'm running [ROM]Hashcheck-Hybrid-v1[P600][BUCND1 4.4.2]FAST. I've tried flashing the zips from the note 3 forums with no luck.

You can edit them in framework.res apk with ninja morph. If you can wait till tomorrow I can post exactly how to do it if you want. I'm out right now and don't have my tablet. You can download ninja morph from play store and download the theme you want and I'll explain tommoro. It's very easy.
I tried to flash also but the note 3 has a different folder there in then ours so I think that's why they don't flash rite.

That would be great, I'm in no hurry. Thanks for your help I didn't think of trying to modify the apk.

You have to open ninja morph and click new project.
Then click on system /framework/then framework res.apk, it will extract the apk.
Next you have to go into a file explorer, I use es file explorer.Click on android themes folder then workspace/framework res/res/drawable Xhdpi.
Then in that folder you will find the air command files. There are 10 files in there you need to replace.
Now go to your downloads and extract the air command zip you want.It will put a folder in your downloads of the extracted zip.In the extracted folder keep clicking until you can't go into anymore folders.Ill attach a screen shot of it with the 10 files .
Now copy those 10 files into workspace/framework res/res/drawable Xhdpi. It will ask you to replace the ones you have in there, just click yes.
Now your good to go. Open ninja morph again , make sure it restarts the app.Click on finish projects and you'll see framework res apk.Click that and it compiles file again. It will ask a few questions.I don't remember what but you need to replace that file you changed so I think that is 1 question. I think the other one is if you want to zip align it.I click no. I would make a copy of your framework apk before you change just in case something goes wrong but it also makes a backup in the Android themes folder. If you need help feel free to pm me.
I attached screen shot of the minion one I use and a screen shot of what files you need to copy.

I also might have used astro file manager or root explorer to change the files. I definitely used es file explorer to extract the air command zip I used.

I was looking and if you download the one you want and go into the folder and get to drawable Xxhdpi and change to Xhdpi it might flash fine. I think because the double xx one is for note 3 and one X is for our tablet.Alls it can do is not work again.Ill yet tomorrow and see if it works. It would be a lot easier then doing what I explained.

I figured it out. I unzipped the theme and renamed the res folder to drawable-sw800dp-xhdpi, then zipped the META-INF & vrtheme folders up. Flashed and it works perfect! Tried a couple different themes from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2628481 they all worked.
Thanks for all your help!

Did you rename the res\drawable-xxhdpi? I am on Kitkat and unable to make it work. At best, I get the background fine and the icons displaced to the right.

yes what i did was download a themed aircommand zip from the link to the other thread then unzipped it and renamed the folder then zipped back up and flashed. I your trying to theme one yourself you could download a zipped theme and look to see if there's a file your missing or need to change mabey.

Finally working!

Thanks. The missing links were two.
First, renaming to sw800dp-xhdpi instead of xhdpi. Maybe the kitkat upgrade changed the folder used, as the earlier posts all mentioned it worked fine with xhdpi.
Second, I had to resize some of the images from the themes by sibinn ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49861789#post49861789) The original size is optimised for Note 3 and also works fine on Note 2. In sw800dp folder though, the image sizes are slightly different. After resising, it worked perfectly.

Request: change lockscreen

i love the modaco custom rom but would like to add the lockscreen from drizzys custom rom. (or any plain android looking lockscreen)
is there a way to extract the files i need and simply replacing them in the MRC? i guess its just an html file or something like that to replace, right?
I guess this is the HTCLockScreen.apk and .odex but since it's a system app, it cannot be installed or unistalled, and overwirting the apk in the system/app folder doesn't do anything.
If someone knows how to do it I will be very interested too.
im not sure if it will work but you can download my rom go to
system/framework
grab com.htc.resource.apk
now adb push com.htc.framework.apk /system/framework/
then reboot!
steps:
adb remount
adb push com.htc.framework.apk /system/framework/
adb shell
reboot
then if your phone loops then it didnt work, but if you go straight to you home screen then it should be fine!
good luck

its not in the lockscreen!
its in the framework!
Or you could do what I did, pull com.htc.resources.apk from the phone, extract it with 7zip edit the .png files in res/drawable-land-480x320/ and res/drawable-port-480x320/ then zipped it and built the apk using apkbuilder.
Then push it to the phone, as usual make backups.

Thank you very much.
It works perfectly.
BR. Simemu
Thx it worked perfectly
I just pushed com.htc.resources.apk into the /system/framework folder.
Now is it also possible to change the notification bar with a similar method ?
I love the one from your Rom Drizzy Drake Rogers.
They are in framework-res.apk
A few jpg and png named status* in res/drawable-480x320/
Same method should apply.
As usual, would be smart to back up.
Edit: When I get some time off I may have a day messing with these files see about some different coloured UI's etc.
for me this does not work
what ive done is:
1. get the com.htc.resources.apk
2. extract it with rar
3. changed the mentioned png files
4. then i put them back into the archive (apk file, renamed as a zip file)
5. renamed the zip back to its original name
6. put the file as mentioned to the correct folder
there is no change.. is it a MUST to use apk builder, if yes, how to use that bat?

okay, i signed the new apk with this http://www.anddev.org/signing_your_apk-application_for_release_keytooljarsigner-t3069.html

[Q] Problems with theming Framework

Hi everyone,
I'm having a few questions regarding the theming of framework-res.apk on Android Revolution (No-Sense/Sense)..
After I pull the .apk, and decompile it, I edit the images so that the .9.png files stay intact. Then after that I compile the entire .apk and use WinRar to only push the images to the origional framework-res.apk..
But everytime I flash it I get bootloops and it won't boot into Android, any idea what I do wrong in the proces?
Thanks in advance!
if your using apk manager when you recompile the framework-res.apk it will ask you if its system app click yes then it will ask if you want to keep signature also click yes then you will have to delete the icons you changed in the keep folder then press enter in cmd window
it will compile and be called unsignedframework-res.apk rename to framework-.apk then open the rom using winrar (DO NOT EXTRACT) then just drag and drop the new framework-res.apk into the framework folder click ok let it do its thing then close winrar drop it on sd card and flash

I find it much easyer this way. Can i ask you a question if you know abit about framework modding can you see were i have gone wrong here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195549
I can live with it but i would rather change it to a light gray or a different color? Any help would be very nice & not had a reply about this yet? Can you help?
i had the same issue and i found it easier to update the old framework and overwrite existing files. once you have completed compiling your new framework APK extract the contents and copy into the old framework... and that seems to work fine

[Q] How to Convert Zip to apk file? is this possible?

Hi everyone
is this possible zip file convert to apk?
its very important cause i try to instal any zip file but my rom is not rooted!!
please if this possible tell me
Thanks
change file from zip to apk
to change file type from zip to apk on windows 7
1- open computer in start menu
2- press alt
3- select tools and choose folder options
4- go to view and uncheck hide extentions for known file types
5- finally go to the file you want to change and change its name (ex: .apk)
It depends if you downloaded a file which was a zip file but was packed as an apk then yes changing the extension of .zip to .apk would be fine if you know what I mean.

No. Android binaries are located in a apk, you just can't turn a mod into a apk, the only way to build an apk is from Android SDK. Its not possible.
I recently made an android game, just for fun, and for some reason the site i was on changed it to a zip file instead of an apk file. I used a script to make this app. So it works, but i cant play it on my phone because it is in the zip format and whenever i rename it to .apk on my phone, it doesnt work. Any help wold be appreciated.

Hi,
I'm trying to do something along these lines.
I have a keyboard skin that I want to change it's theme from blue to green. I unpacked it several months ago with EasyApk and attempted this but eventually gave up.
I've done all of the color editing to the .png files but after zipping and changing the ext to apk, it won't install. I get this message... "There was a problem parsing the package."
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Nope. The XDA well of good will towards those in need has apparently dried up. Either that or I'm on the do-do list for something.

I found a work around. I used 7zip in windows and made all of the edits (adding files, removing files, editing contents of files) I needed in the zip file WITHOUT unzipping it (7zip and winrar allow this). Once I did that I changed the extension back to apk and the app installed.
Hope this helps some people.

Not working for me. What editing program are you using for graphics?
For graphics, let's say images. I would work on whatever it is you need to add, outside of the zip, and then just add that file by replacing it with whatever it is you wanted to edit. Do you get what I'm saying?
I used 7zip on windows to do this.

Its like this for me, I got an apk of Loco Craft (Android Game) extracted it into a folder with winrar, then I modified a bunch of things in there, then I compressed it to a .rar file with WinRAR, then I renamed it from application.rar to application.apk. then when I sent it to my phone (Acer B1-730, Android 4.4.2) and opened the apk file, it said: "There was a problem parsing the package"! So what do I do? Please!!! I really want to try my new game! And pls help me I am only 9!!!

I assume the original image is actually in framework-res.apk?
If so, I suspect it's a decompiling/recompiling problem.
Also, if it's just a png or jpg you're replacing, there's no need to decompile - just drop the new image into the correct folder in the apk using 7-Zip.

Hi, thanks for reply, basically i have just taken a pic from someoneone elses theme and swapped pic with that of the theme i am using so should be right format (right?) but how when i have extracted with 7zip how do i get it all back as .apk file... i used a program called formatter to do it first time!!
Don't extract it, make sure the image you want to replace is named the same and it isn't a .9.png...open the framework-res with 7zip (open archive) navigate to the necessary folder and drop your new png in. That should work
If you extract it you break the signature, that's why you're getting a bootloop.

Thanks matey, just done itand it works great, didnt realise it was that easy...
EDIT: Also thanks to you m1keyb, you answered as i sent this post!! lol :good:
If the picture you're replacing is in the same apk and is the same format (png, jpg) and has the same name and is the same size (px x px) then it ought to be OK.
If the picture you want use is OK, open the apk with 7-Zip (don't unzip it), and simply drop the picture in the correct folder and it'll replace the picture that's already there.
Edit: sn0wman1 edited the post I was replying to and m1keyb replied too - lol, I'm slow!

I have already made a mod for the carrier labels in the fi27 update. The new carrier label says team rejectz. If you would like to make your own carrier label(s) for fh23 for your own personal use, here's how...
What you will need:
-Pc/laptop updated with the latest java /sdk/jdk. (google it)
-Team Rejectz quick fix. (xda-dev section)
-Root file explorer such as : root explorer or ES file explorer OR adb shell on your pc to pull/push files from your pc to your phone.
-Notepad++ (google it)
-7 zip (google it)
- rooted e4gt and a NANDROID BACKUP!
1. Pull the framework res from your phone. Make a copy and save it. (system/framework)
2. Use the quick fix to decompile the framework res apk. The quick fix will make a framework res folder.
3. Go to res/values/strings.xml and open it with NotePad ++
4. At the top of NotePad ++ you will see an icon that looks like a pair of binoculars. That's the search icon.
Search for "Sprint". You should get 3 instances.
5 edit "Sprint" to say Black or Team Rejectz, your name or whatever you like. Just make sure its not too big or it won't work.
6. Recompile. After quick fix is done recompiling, there will be 2 new folders in the framework res folder; build, and dist. Go into the dist folder and you will see your new framework res apk.
7. Open the archive (don't extract, just open archive) of both the original copy of the framework res and the new one you edited from the dist folder. Drag and drop the META inf folder from the original to the modded apk. Now double click on the res folder in both archives. Drag and drop the drawable hdpi folder from the original to the modded archive.
Close out the archives and push your new framework res to system/app on your phone with either adb or your rooted file explorer. If you use the file explorer to push the framework res make sure you set the permissions the same as the rest of the system apks first. Push, reboot, enjoy.
Thanks

I have already made a mod for the carrier labels in the fi27 update. The new carrier label says team rejectz. If you would like to make your own carrier label(s) for fh23 for your own personal use, here's how...
What you will need:
-Pc/laptop updated with the latest java /sdk/jdk. (google it)
-Team Rejectz quick fix. (xda-dev section)
-Root file explorer such as : root explorer or ES file explorer OR adb shell on your pc to pull/push files from your pc to your phone.
-Notepad++ (google it)
-7 zip (google it)

Thanks, will try. And the boot animations, you agree with Stryke_the_Orc and others or you have a better method for Black Rom v1.3.

Yea. Tried this today. I ran into a couple problems. The last step you say to push the framework-res file to "system/app" is that correct cause there is no room in there. I only have like a couple megs in there. I would have thought that it replaces the original file in "system/framework". I copied it there and over wrote the original and set permissions . The phone restarted by it self when I did that and got stuck on the boot animation. I force restarted the phone again and it still gets stuck on the boot animation. I restored my nandroid. I followed your instructions to a T. With the exception of where the framework-res file should go:crying: My carrier label has the same amount of characters as "Team Rejectz".

Ok, first yes that should go to framework, system/app must have been a typo. Second, the getting stuck on boot could be a number of things, you'll have to get a logcat to find the specific cause. When this happened to me it was an improper edit that caused the xml to fail although it recompiled fine. Hope that helps.

Ok, so I can start attempting to make my own carrier label, and I want my clock on status bar in the center
