Is it possible the remover the white dots that represent how many screen u have and which screen u on
Not with the stock launcher. If you use a different launcher say ADW EX, GO Launcher or LauncherPro to name a few, then yes you can remove that. Heck you can do alot more than just that.

If you mean the one below its in system/app/TouchWiz30Launcher.apk/res/drawable-hdpi and its called mainmenu_icon_application.
Grab a theme or rom that has this launcher included and unzip it with 7zip then go get it.
Is it possible to do that from my phone? Won't it tell me the apk is already installed? My computer is out of comission for a minute

Edit: I was able to extract the file but when I try to set it in launcher pro I can't find it... I can find the folder its in but it doesn't show up
Edit #2: got it just had to run the meddia scanner thanks for the help
No worries, glad it worked.

How to get the Home Icon from Touchwiz...see the attached (print screen then crop from TW), i need it very badly...
hi guys.. i need some help..
cause i didnt get an answer at Q/A ill give it a try here..
looking for the answer the hole evening, but i dont find it..
you probably can see my problem when looking at the screen..
the background of the icons at my dock is not transparent..
and i dont know how to make them transparent...
tried everything..
googled for it for hours ....
try using transparent background icons?
It depends on what launcher you are using.
If you are using LauncherPro its in the display->dock settings
If you are using Touchwiz then you will need to change the dock background ping in TWFramework.apk, there's tutorials on here for changing themes in TW
I can't advise on ADW as I've not used it for about a year
Im using adw ex ...
When I take icons from gingerbread theme they are transparent... But when I take different ones ( I.e. the ones from launcher pro ) they are not transparent

You'll probably find the icons you are using don't have transparency set in them, you'll ned to edit the .png files
I already tried with transparent mode at my draw program.. Using mac, I don't have photo shop or sth like that... Guesd it's called " don't show background " ... But it just affect the drawing program and not the png file ...

I tried the launcher pro icon pack app .... Still not working, and those icons should be transparent, shouldn't they?

I have been using 7zip to replace icons for my docked apps. The only one that has eluded me so far is the phone icon. I found the stock green phone icon in res\drawable and replaced it but it did not change on the app or dock. Usually the icon for others was in res\drawable-hdpi. Soooo my question is where the heck is the one I need to change. Thanks.
I believe its in dialertabactivity.apk
Thats where it takes the icon from

Now, any idea where that default apps icon is stored? The white 16 square rectangle that Zeam, launcher and LP use? Is it in Framework-res? I can't find it in Zeam so think it is in the system somewhere. Thanks.

What launcher are you using? It is in the laucher. I use adwex, one of its features is the ability to change the icons....I change them all the time.

Zeam. It's not in the drawable-hdpi where I found all my other icons for apps.
The way I do it sometimes it just open the apk with 7zip, the take the res folder and drag it to the desktop, or whatever, open it in windows, and change the view to large icons, then you can look at all the images in the apk and find what you want.

Yeah, that is what I have been doing, but Zeam has so many drawables... I guess I have no choice but to look at them all. Really though the apps icon was a system default a lot of launchers used.
Got it! Had a wierd name action_apps_grid or something like that. Thanks for the help. I have made my phone my own now...
does anyone know how to change a live wallpaper into just a regular wallpaper? such as changing the grass live wallpaper to a regular picture
Kind of a work around. But I would use launcher pro, and hide status bar and remove all icons on the doc so all you see is the live wallpaper. Then use a screen shot app to take a picture. Maybe there's another way but that's the only thing I can think of.

Edit.... see above post ^^^^^^
If you use 7 zip to extract the life wall paper app in the res folder there should be other foldera in there and in one of those folders there should be what you are looking for

Have you tried going into the app drawer>menu>edit and dragging an icon off and replacing it?

That's how you do it for sure, but you should try while on the homescreen long pressing the old msging app and see if you can drag it to remove. Then you can drag and drop the gv app in the open spot. The stock ics launcher allows you to do it that way so you don't have to go into the app drawer and then menu then edit. I'm not sure if the TW launcher can do that though. I haven't used that launcher since GB. I'd be curious to hear if you can.
The TW launcher won't let you, I just tried it.

And ya I double checked, it is Applications > Menu > Edit
It may tell you that you need to change the app drawer to customizable grid, just click ok.
