Hi all, And my apologies if i am posting in the wrong section.
i've been searching for the solution for my problem, and so far i cudnt find one.
My HTC works fine, no screen flickering nothing at all.
what my unique problem is that, as my htc reaches to 80% charge, it starts acting like its in a red area zone. it crashes. I switch it one, and as it loads back to lock screen, it crashes again, and again and damn again , untill i put it on charge.
Initially i thought its a software bug so
i rooted my cell, installed custom rom ARHD 6.0, (didnt touch my kernal)
i was happy with the custom rom, battery got better, device became more smooth. but as it reached to 80%, bang. crashed, and crashed after every restart.
i installed LeeDroid rom and confronted the same problem again.
My uncle bought this from UK and i live in Pakistan, so replacement is out of the equation. I am not sure what should i do, even if i give this for repair, what should i ask for that? battery?
i made a video of this, please help me out.

guys, anyone?
If the phone did it out of the box running stock s/w and no other apps it's h/w. Since you're rooted and have played with multiple ROMs it's hard to tell. If I were you I'd go back to the stock ROM, not load any apps, and see if the phone still has the problem. If it doesn't it's something s/w related that you've done to the phone.

I assume there is no official HTC service center available there (as there is non in Iran) in that case I suggest you do this two things before testing local unauthorized repair centers.
1- Flash the latest franco kernel (I suggest franco cause I've tested it myself, you can also use any other kernel)
2- let the battery charge up to 100% and then go to CWM recovery and wipe battery stat

i was facing this problem when i was on stock. My phone had Vodaphone UK RUU.
i contacted htc, got the following reply
With reference to your query, please kindly update your phone to the latest software version since we have released a recent update which optimizes system performance as well as battery performance.
Meanwhile, you can also follow below steps to set your phone under safe mode for monitoring:
First verify that Fast Boot is not enabled, Settings > Power > Make sure Fast Boot is not selected. To enable safe mode:
1. With the device turned off.
2. Press the power button.
3. Once the device turns press and holds the volume down, once you see the splash screen.
4. Press and hold thevolume down button (DO NOT RELEASE THE VOLUME DOWN).
You will know it has worked because the device will give a brief vibrate or 3 quick vibes. Once it loads you will see on the “Safe Mode” on the bottom left of the screen. This disables all 3rd party apps and drivers from launching. Use the phone normally for 24-48 hours like this. Do not use 3rd party apps or install from the market or the test will be inconclusive.
If the issue will not occur under safe mode, please uninstall the 3rd applications.
Should the problem still persist when your phone is under safe mode, please kindly back up your personal user data and follow below steps to set your phone back to factory default settings:
Settings> Storage> Factory Data Reset".
but this happened on Safe mode too, so i decided to go and get replace by the market guy, but he ..... nvm
After that i switched roms and faced the same issue

You find it in
Home> HTC One X> One X Android development
btw is this possible that my stats are incorrect, reason for asking is that. it shut downs like its out of power. and it takes ages to charge up completely even if its on 86%. I install franco, and now its on charging, it will take almost 2 hours plus to get charge completely.
I will post update after wiping battery state

Hello all,
I am facing problems with my SIII right now. I was running AOKP but due to the bluetooth not being able to sync with my stereo, I decided to go back to stock rooted. I just flashed back the stock rooted image using Odin, but now my phone sits at the Samsung screen with the blue notification light on. I have tried rebooting, and it gets to this point (after the rethink possible screen) and just sits. I am thinking another flash in Odin is in order? Is there a stock, non root image I can flash via odin? I am just really lost for ideas right now and any input would be appreciated! Thanks!
Update:
I tried flashing with odin again and this time I got a failed. It was in the process of flashing the "system". I am kinda starting to freak out. I am hoping that it's just the file I'm using (though it just worked not even a few days ago.) I am trying again and if this one bombs out, I think I am going to try a different file. The one I am downloading to try next is the "stock unroot" from the how-to video. Anyone have any luck with this?
Another Update:
I just re-flashed with odin, this time it says it successfully completed but once again it's stuck at the flashing Samsung logo with the indicator led on.... I am starting to really freak out lol. I have another file downloading that is supposedly just stock, no root or anything...

I've always noticed the LED being on during boot (or some of the boot) and it was also on when I had a bootloop during cm9 so I don't think it means anything.
Fair enough, I guess I never paid that much attention till now when things don't work heh. I do recall reading about someone else having the similar issue using odin...I am trying to find the post and if there was any follow up on it.

Correction : Used that link you had posted, it was still stuck so I loaded up the toolkit and used option 20 for reboot options to force it into default recovery, wiped data & cache from there and let it reboot, it seemed to have hung but waited a few minutes and it came back to life. Back to complete stock here now, hope it works for you.

When you say toolkit are you talking about the one from the thread labled [SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 QCOM TOOLKIT V2.3] Drivers Backup Root CWM BusyBox + MORE [ATT]? And if so you just opened it and used option 20? nothing else? This sounds great if it works hehe.

Should have explained a bit better. Yes that toolkit
While it was stuck at samsung screen.
1 For AT&T (Obviously)
20 For reboot options
1 For recovery.
Then wipe data/cache
Then wiped cache (no idea why)
then rebooted.
When i did an Odin to stock I also froze on the Samsung logo. I had to boot to recovery and do a factory reset I side recovery to get it to boot. Keep in mind everything will be deleted though

That is exelent. I am downloading the toolkit right now and will report back shortly.
Once you got it to boot, did you still have root? I am wondering if you flashing the "stock rom" that I posted, if that had any impact. I have only pushed the root66 file, so I am expecting root when(if XD) I get this thing going again. I appreciate you being more thorough with your instructions, and will report back with my results as soon as I get some
Also, are we loners on this? I am not seeing any other posts about going back to stock/stock rooted from modded roms using odin? I am trying to figure out the best method to go back to stock. I made a nandroid and I am sure that would work, but all of this word about having to flash different kernels and bluetooth/wifi drivers to get stock working properly makes me wonder if just using odin is the easiest method, as it restores everything on the phone (to my knowledge).

UPDATE:Nvm, google hehe. I just did the factory reset...Things are looking good so far, the haptic lights turned on at least...BOOM! We are good gentlemen. It looks like all it took was the recovery wipe. This is great news! I will try to figure out how to mark this as solved, and you crash822, you get a thanks
NP sir. We all have to start somewhere. Luckily for me I was already planning on doing a full wipe so I backed up everything I wanted to keep from my phone onto my computer before using odin.
I seem to be having the same issue. I've downloaded the toolkit as you guys have suggested. are you guys in download mode on the phone while you use this? it seems to want me to be in debugging mode and i can't get to that. I've tried a factory reset with no luck.
[TOOL] Revert To Stock ICS for the VZW Galaxy Nexus
OVERVIEW
I have created an all-in-one script that will revert your Verizon Galaxy Nexus to stock ICS (Build IMM76K). I have found some of the 'toolkits' to be awesome resources, but a bit flaky when trying to return to stock. This tool is a self-contained EXE and can be run offline as it does not need the internet during the process to download any supplemental files.
!WARNING!
This process WILL WIPE ALL DATA on your phone! You must manually backup all user data, documents and media before performing this process. I take no responsibility for any loss of data to your phone. This script is clean and has been tested, but as with all online guides, this is done at your own risk. Make sure your phone has at least 75% battery before continuing.
WHAT THIS WILL DO
Reset radio, bootloader, and software to factory versions. Unroot your phone. Remove all settings and accounts. Delete all data/apps and replace system apps with old original ones.
WHAT THIS WILL NOT DO
Relock your bootloader or make you coffee.
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1: Make sure your phone is UNPLUGGED from your computer, then download and install the Samsung Galaxy Nexus drivers (VZW)
STEP 2: Download/extract my Revert To Stock Tool for the VZW Galaxy Nexus
STEP 3: Power off your phone, then boot into 'Fastboot mode' by holding down both volume buttons and then the power button until you see the screen with the green "Start" arrow (shown below).
NOTE: If your phone boots up normally into your Android OS, then you did not press the buttons correctly. Power off your phone again, and repeat the process until you see the correct screen.
STEP 4: Plug your phone into your computer and let Windows install any necessary device drivers that it detects.
STEP 5: Once it is finished, run the tool (filename: VZW-GNex-RevertToStock.exe), and follow the on-screen prompts to revert your phone to stock ICS (Build IMM76K)
CONCLUSION
Let me know if you have any questions or run into any hiccups along the way. I am always willing to modify the script or the guide to make it more user-friendly.
NOTE: If you receive any virus alert notifications when extracting or running my tool, then know that they are false positives. My executable is clean.

Added verbiage describing what this script will/will not do.

Hi. I hope this doesn't sound too noobish. I just rooted for the first time the other day using the GNex Tookit Ver. 7.8. to the AOKP JB Rom. I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus.
Basically I need to go back to stock. It was a CLNR phone and thought it was running great for a day until I started noticing a bunch of dead pixels. So I need it back to Stock.
Is it really as simple as running your tool? Also, will it revert back to the original googe apps? b/c im having some issues with apps now on this rom?
1 last question, I understand it'll go back to stock does that mean I lose root and the bootloader becomes unlocked?
Thanks well in advance!

Yes, this will take you back to the original ROM which includes the original Google Apps (Gapps). Yes, you will LOSE root, but this will NOT re-lock your bootloader. Very good questions - I have updated some of the verbiage in the original post to clarify these points.

If you wanted to lock the bootloader, just boot into the bootloader and run fastboot oem lock. Don't rely on toolkits.

Not restarting
Hi! I found this thread linked in the GNex Toolkit 7.8 thread when I was looking for a solution because it failed to flash the stock image & unroot. I followed all the instructions, and pressed enter after fastboot restarted twice, and got to where it says "Flashing stock rom/system". I have now waited 20mins (the tool estimates 5mins), and my phone isn't restarting out of fastboot mode. It has a blue highlighted line on the bottom that says "Fastboot Status - Okay1515.FA02".
Should I keep waiting? re-run the tool? just try restarting my phone manually?
Please help!
Thanks!
Oh! Was running LiquidSmooth 1.5MR1 prior to starting this...no idea if that would still be working or not if I restart now...
EDIT: I got brave - restarting from fastboot manually just restarted Liquid, so it didn't rewrite the system. Some more searching, and I found a different dl link to try for the system image, put it in the right folder, and the GNex Toolkit worked like it was supposed to. I have to say, though, this tool is much less intimidating haha! Thanks!
So, I am in quite the predicament:
First of all, my phone stopped fully booting into the OS. I can get into fastboot and recovery but when I reboot the system it gets to the android screen and then goes black. Second of all, my usb port is broken.
I am pretty sure that there is nothing to be done, but if anyone has any suggestions that would be AMAZING!

Try a different USB cable and a different USB port. It takes a lot to break those ports on your phone, you may just have a bad cable.

I thought that too. I tried 3 computers and 6 cables: nothing worked. It hasn't been able to connect to a computer for a month now and it stopped charging 2 weeks ago. I have looked at replacing the port with a new mic/usb module but the phone still won't boot so it wouldn't really be worth it.

Just a heads up for anyone that was trying before and could not get it to go.
I'll report back if I have any issues.

It doesn't work for me yet. did you enter download mode before connecting to Kies? what version of Kies do you have? mine is 3.2.15041_2
I entered download mode when it asked me to. Also Kies 3.2
I also got that message, but it will go through anyways. At least it did for me. I left that message in the background till it finished.
Initial Update when you Open Box is Included in this method
I just noticed that the update you get when you first turn on your phone is pre-built into this update method. I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that my phone feels blazing fast now as opposed to when I first got it. And, it's not near as HOT as it was.
Here is my current version for comparison. Not sure if it's the same as that updated file we got when first turned on as I didn't make a note of the version numbers.
Just curious, was the phone staying awake at all times after you rooted it? Mine is, and I noticed today after my second Edge came in that rooting appears to be the cause.

No, but I did find the battery life to be HORRIBLE! Now, with this Firmware Recovery, the battery is lasting longer than it has since I got it. I'm finally really enjoying the phone. When it was new, battery life was very dismal and it got really hot regularly. Now it feels like a normal phone, but FAST.
Yep, my battery life was horrible after rooting as well - I found out and now I'm almost 100% positive that when you root it the system doesn't deep sleep properly. I was able to confirm on a second phone that it does deep sleep at all times up until rooting. Afterwards it just refuses to enter deep sleep.
good to see a restore works, but I don't think I will root until TWRP comes out for this guy.
phone is running just fine now..
My device won't boot even with the 920 root method. And kids says my serial n is no good?
Tell your kids to mind their own business.
Hehe, just kidding.
What serial are you using? It needs to be the one from Settings/About/Status near the bottom of that screen. Try again, making sure you've got model and serial exact. I had it complain on me a couple times. Was a mistype on my part. Not sure if case matters, but maybe try all upper case.

Hi there,
I finished the process "Software Update and Initialization" via SS but my it looks like my phone has the same settings and apps as before and was not "wiped" or initialised to factory.
Does this mean it actually was not successful or did the process actually automatically restore my backup while I looked away?
The phone definitely seems snappier though ...
Thx

Hi everyone,
I have an issue with my wife's OP3 that is driving me nuts.
Her phone runs stock OS without any changes but with an unlocked bootloader (just to be on the safe side i like to have an unlocked bootloader on all our devices).
I'm not sure if its related but I'm including it anyways she was playing a game on her phone and then she received a call and she answered it and tried to switch the call to speakerphone and the phone started rebooting right after booting the OS after 2-5 sec i would say "factory data reset" (see attached screenshot) and would reboot to the recovery.
then i would boot the phone again and the issue repeats itself.
so i used fastboot boot twrp.img to boot a recovery image and run a nadroid backup to a USB OTG just in case the phone is really hosed or whatnot.
I downloaded stock zip from oneplus's site and flashed it again from TWRP just to make sure its not some funky issue that happened to the os.
I even factory reset the phone from stock recovery and the issue would happen on the new phone setup wizard.
after a bunch of fiddling around I've flashed LineageOS 16 nightly and the phone boots normally and is fully usable but when i try to make or receive a call the phone app freezes and then crashes also sound doesn't seem to work when i try to play videos from youtube for example.
Any ideas what is the issue and how i can resolve it ?
thanks a bunch !!

Take a backup of your personal files and then wipe system, data, internal storage and both caches. Then flash OOS 5.0.8 and without adding any apps, check the calling function. If it still happens, then most likely a hardware issue.

If it's a hardware problem which part should I replace?
I already ordered a battery before this issue started and I was planning on replacing it once it gets here maybe I can replace one of the parts in order to resolve this issue

You will need to replace the main board if the issue persist.
Same problem here
Hello mate, I've got the exact same problem with my wife's OP3. What did you do eventually? Did you find out? Please help. Thanks

Hmmm quite strange that you're having the same issue.
I didnt find a solution yet i gave her a temp replace phone that we had in a drawer somewhere.
Did your wife do anything out of the ordinary when it happened? are you having the same issue that LOS works but stock rom shows factory reset?
thanks.

No, She did not do anything out of the ordinary. But weirdly I have exactly the same things happening. Lineage works but no sound. Everything else factory resets. I have tried quite a few ROM'swithout any luck. So far the only ROM which worked for some time(1day) was 6.0.1 . I have spent quite a long time on this flashing various ROM and dont know what to do now.

Update: @ireaper4592 might have a point here. I have gone one level up and I tried msm v3.0 tool, thus doing a complete reinstall including firmware. The factory resetting stopped but the sound was not working (I thought that it could be the ROM and the security patches). So I updated to the latest ROM available from Oneplus and evrything has been working since. I did this last night so not sure how long this is going to stay like that. I will give it some time and update later. Wife is using it now!
what you will need to do is download the oneplus 3 recovery tool and put the phone into qualcolm mode and restore the phone that way. here is a link https://www.androidexplained.com/oneplus-3-unbrick-return-stock/

its really good to know.
did you have to wipe the internal storage for this process to work ?
Do you have a guide that you've used to get this working?
Thanks in advanced.

That tool/procedure will reset your phone. So you will lose everything on the phone. Take a backup beforehand.
The link posted in the post above yours contains the guide as well as the tools. It also has links to the original guide here on XDA.

I cant believe it i was sure this was a hardware issue which ended up being a software one that the MSM tool fixed.
When I have a few minutes to spare i'll write a full post on how I ended up resolving it with step by step instructions and how I did it without any dataloss.
Thank you for all your help!
