I use OD as well, though 4.0.2 and Pro Launcher Plus.
Have you checked the preferences of ProLauncher?
when at home screen press menu and preferences, go to "behavior settings" and click "home key action". What is it set for? mine is for "Open/close screen previews"
...thx for answering...
yeah i've the same settings. so that can't be the reason of the problem. i think there is a more dominant setting of od. but i didn't find it. there is just the possibility to change the settings if you hold the homebutton.
another way to solve the prob?
it really sucks.
i think he means, that launcher pro can't be set as standart launcher. so the the standart android launcher activates every time pushing the home button...
try an app called 'home switcher'
yeah i'm using homeswitcher
problem already solved.
Hi, could anyone be so kind and tell me where the hell I can find the opendesire 4.0.4
file to download without any problems etc etc.
Thank you
Hi All,
Ive been toying around with the launchers, and i think there real good, only thinng i cant get though, which i thought id ask on here to see if its me being dumb or just dont work.
When using a launcher, can you not use any of the HTC installed widgets? Like sense clock, or weather, i feel when i go to the launcher on my handset half of my widgets disappear, but when in stock home, they are all there...
Anyway i can work around this? I really want to use another launcher other than HTC stock, as i feel they are so much smarter, the only thing holding me back is these widgets issue.
The Launchers i have used are: Launcher Pro, Go Launcher, Zeam Launcher, and ADW Launcher. Any other launcher that might do the trick?
Thanks in Advanced.

I have kind of the same problem, when i`m using a launcher the mail box shortcut never refreshes the new mail indicator on any of the home screens that i`ve tried, and i`ve tried a lot. I would gladly pay for a home launcher that would make that part work !!!!
If anyone knows of one that actually does it please let me know !
Thanks.
Chris!
hi guys,
since we are on the topic of launchers. i have a question for the experts here. I am also using DHD. I running LauncherPro. When I first installed it, i set it to default and everything works fine. I press the HOME button it just do what the HOME button suppose to do. I restart or reboot my phone, it just goes into LauncherPro. But after awhile, out of the blue i started having this problem. Everytime I press on the HOME button, my phone will ask me to choose between HTC Sense or LauncherPro. I will tick default and select LauncherPro. The the HOME button will work fine. But after awhile it will ask me to select between the 2 launchers again when i press on the HOME button. Same whenever i restart or reboot the phone.
Tried to clear the default setting in HTC sense but nothing for me to clear. Can be annoying because I really prefer the LauncherPro. Does anyone encounter the same problem as me? Any way to overcome this problem? And also pardon my long winded post.

Is it everytime you restart the phone? Or does it seemed to have had an update. Launcher Pro Plus is the 1 i actually use atm, and i make sure the remember choice thing is checked and never have the problem...
Did any of you notice that when LauncherPro (and possibly other alternate launchers) is active, Settings -> Personalize menu does not work? It just goes back to homescreen. I never noticed it until this morning.
I got a call right after booting my DHD and it rang with one of the default ringtones due to SD card not being mounted yet and my standard ringtone was on it. So I went to check if it was fine once the card was mounted and behold. Then I switched back to Sense and could access the screen.
Yes. It happens everytime I restart the phone. I not using launcher pro plus.

Me too.!
Also it shows running apps and also allows easier uninstallation of apps.
I have a lag issue with my device and its starting to drive me crazy. Lol.. But anyway when I'm using the touchwiz launcher and drop down the notification drawer while on the home screen the animation is really choppy and laggy. But as soon as I open an app like gmail or even settings menu the choppiness is gone. The home screen lag will go away if I use another launcher as well like launcher pro or go launcher. But I prefer the twlauncher.
Another strange thing is the twlauncher has no home screen lag when using cm7 so I know the device is capable. Just was wondering if anyone else has this issue or found a way around it, thanks!
Just wanted to note that this didn't occur on my epic touch 4g

Just root the device and flash a rom, I think Samsung didn't spend enough time optimizing the Snapdragon with the Touchwiz skin.
I've been using the SuperChargerv6 script for quite some time now, and I noticed something annoying: even though my home launcher is set on Hard-to-Kill, after using a memory-intensive app my wallpaper disappears (becomes black). I know that I can bullet-proof it, but I would like it to be linked to the launcher (as in it gets killed after (or at the same time as) the home launcher). Any suggestions?
I don't think you can link an app to the launcher... you'd likely need to go with the bullet-proofing
I flashed 5.1 and it's kind of OK (although a few app stopped errors happen) but the home button only works from the task switcher screen. It doesn't work from any app. Tried with Launcher, tried with Nova Launcher. Also, setting Home in Nova Launcher to an app doesn't launch that app. Something eats my home clicks. But what? I do not use a custom keyboard.

You should probably wipe everything and do a fresh install of the latest factory image. From the force closes, it sounds like you flashed all all positions besides data... Or you're having issues with the touchscreen drivers, which is a widely known issue on flo... Look around in the general section, there are about four threads with good information annoy the touchscreen if that's your issue. You could also collect a logcat of the touch fail, limit the output so it's easy to find the error and determine the source of your issue... Just some ideas.
