Hi Guys
I have had a problem for about a week.
When ever i select the MSG or E-Mail tab on my TP2, Sense crashes.(contacts were useless as well)
It didn't matter if it was a backup from a few weeks ago (Sprite Backup), or my latest (just before it happened).
So i went a searching and couldn't find any solution for my problem, so i decided to go on the look for myself,
I originally thought it was some database or file corruption error, couldn't find anything.
Now i found the problem was with a corrupted folder on my SD Card, the folder i had to delete was
"Inbox.mstxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx". After doing this, it works fine and the only think that i lost was the MSG bodies from my E-mails.
The reason i am posting a new thread is so others can save a week or 2 before finding a solution.
OK, Now this is starting to hack me off, I think Sprite Backup is rooting my msgs, This morning i awoke to find Sense crashing again, Deleted that folder and all is fine after a softreset.
I might through another SD in my phone and force a back up and see what happens, It may be my SD card or sprite.
I will let you know, My sense version is 2.5.2012
OK I have solved my issue, Sprite Backup was corrupting my Inbox folder on the sd card, So i removed it and installed SPB Backup and its now working fine.

I'm having what I think is probably a dumb restore problem...
I was trying a ROM upgrade - turned out I actually had that version installed anyway - and so ran a full backup with ActiveSync first.
The XdaIIs is working fine, however when I restore the backup to get all my stuff back there are a bunch of things it can't restore because the files may be locked or in use...:
IS_Photo_Contacts_Group
Appointments Database
\Categories Database
IA_Photo_Contacts
Contacts Database
Tasks Database
IA_P_Contacts.dll
WLan_Service.dll
connections.exe
IA_Caller_ID.exe
IA_P_DspCID.dll
AudioGW.dll
Contacts and Appointmenst are my big miss... any ideas?
If I go to Starts->Settings->System->Memory->Running Programs the oly thing running is ActiveSync which shouldn't be using those files surely..
I'd really like to get all the info back that I had in there...

Fat Monk,
I would try a task manager other than the Running Apps option to see if maybe WM isn't bringing up all the apps running in the background.
Here's one you could try at your discretion to get at the desired files:
http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/taskmaster.shtml
No joy unfortunately.
That app does seem to shut everything down, but I'm still getting the same list of files failing to restore... really frustrating.
I've browsed on the device from my PC and can see the databases directory and the appointments and contacts entries in there (the two things I'd really like to get restored) but they are not deletable, so even that brute force methd doesn't look like it will work.
Any more suggestions? Surely backing and restoring up appointments and contacts is a normal procedure...
I don;t have any extra software installed on the unit at the moment (other than having run xda_unlock_all to get rid of the SIM lock), so other than 'Today' I wouldn't have thought anything else would have locked these databases.
It's pretty annoying that the two most important things on a n organiser can be lost so easily... please help...

Previouse Active Sync problem - semi solved.
Just Upgraded my Radio ROM to 1.13.00 , before this I backed it all up, fine.
I performed the Radio Update OK, then managed to get an Old BAckup to load from one month back, SO knowing that worked, i did another hard reset and tried to back up from my most recent backup made today, Active Sync Insists you cannot use a previously used name for my device why not??, its only ME here. So I try another name, still dosnt work
So I have to call it something else (and now have about ten different names! )or it wont connect to Active-Sync, I point my most recent backup to it and it says This isnt a compatible device??
thats crazy I only just managed to restore an older back up.. what can I do?
Ive just tried Active-Sync in "Guest Mode", browsing it to latest BackUp and it says "this isnt a compatible device"
Is the only way now to backup now is by copying the CAB files over manualy??
Its annoying because I got one month old backup to work earlier.
SOLVED:: I had to change my REGIONAL SETTINGS in the devices SETTINGS back to United Kingdom ENGLISH, then logged in as GUEST and Browsed to latest backup file .. restoring now.
The other day my P3300 was somewhat slow and I decided to give it a soft reboot. Ever since it keeps on rebooting. It reaches the phase where you may enter your pincode but when it wants to load the user interface it reboots again.
Sometimes I have luck and after 5 loops or so it finally gets into full WM5.
If I remove the SD card the problem dissappears. So I expect it's the card (which never corrupt(ed/s) on me).
Another option would be it has run out of main memory. I'm a little short on that one. Would it reboot if memory was too low?
I think a hard reset or format of the SD card would solve it but that is the easy way. I want to know the reason so it won't happen again.
HTC P3300 T-mobile Compact III
2GB Sandisk microSD
WM5 and updates original as a danish virgin
I installed the Artemis SD patch
I had this a few times and the only way around it was a hard reset followed by a recovery of the phone from SPB backup.
It always seemed to follow me installing software, but never the same application so I thought it had corrupted something in the startup. You can try booting without the card installed and it should be OK, then you may be able to work out what app ./ reg entry is causing it.
HTH
I rebooted without card and it worked
i put the sd card in my cardreader and defaced some .exe's in my autorun folder (the 2527 folder). Than it worked again. Until... a few days ago it started all over again.
did the same procedure but there was no .exe anymore in the autorun folder.
I dont want to do hard reset. Do you guys have any clue if i can see in the register what it tries to run?
it's defenitely one program doing this. It boots straight into WM5 and is responsive but after let's say 3 seconds BOOM there it reboots again.
Mine did the same, deleted a few folders from the storage card Program Files\ folder, think from memory the progs causing mine to reboot were CE Converter Pro, Pocket Weather & E Wallet Pro, but as already mentioned it can be any number of different programs, I didn't delete any reg entries, just the actual folders on the memory card, it seems to be a common problem I a very serious bug as far as I'm concerned, definitely one that needs addressing.
hi all,
thought i would ask here as my questions in the rom specific forum are getting swamped by every asking for the dev to install specific programmes or people asking wht OJ death is..
im just trying to narrow down if my SD card is faulty, the rom is causing the issues or i have or am doing things wrong.
on random occasions i have lost apps, photos and other info from my SD card.
the first time it happed i did a nandriod backup prior to a rom update.
right after the nandriod back up my phone booted up and every photo i had taken in the last 2 days were gone.
thankfully using Recuva data recovery program in windoiws i was able to find and restore the photos.
i then updated my rom the Open desire rom, the one that enabled the OTA menu system. as far as i know there were no other things changed in the initial update.
after rebooting all my sd card data was wiped.
BUT.... some of the apps on the sd card were still there and some were gone, as well as apps on the phone, some were gone some was not.

You're not alone... I too have a similar issue, with an un-branded, un-rooted Desire. The first think I noticed was a duplicate "Backgrounds" folder appearing in the 3D Gallery - which in itself is odd, because the standard Gallery app only shows it once.
Weirdly in one version of the folder I have a few less images than the other, but they're otherwise all duplicates and can only be found in one visible "Backgrounds" directory on my SD card. It's not just the Gallery app aither - some others (like Wall Switch) also see two "Backgrounds" folders.
Then I noticed a number of images had mysteriously disappeared from another folder - in both Gallery apps. The only app that's crashed is Wall Switch - which is probably related, as it's looking for images in that "Backgrounds" folder. It works fine most of the time though.
If any images have gone missing, I should be able to get them back as I recently upgraded to a 32GB card and copied all my files across before doing so. However, I'm more concerned that there's a problem with the new card. (Which, for the record, was not a cheap one from eBay.)
As such, I'll be spending some time this weekend testing the new card to see if I can identify any issues... but I too have a couple of questions in that regard:
i) Is there any benefit in formatting the card in the phone before use? (It came pre-formatted so I first checked it for errors in Windows first, then just started using it.) I realise before Froyo the phone could not format such big cards, but I think that may have been resolved now.
ii) What's the best way to verify the integrity of the card? (e.g. Will error checking via Windows - XP in my case - suffice?)
EDIT: I took the card out and copied the files (minus my MP3 library) back to the 4GB card that came with the phone. When I ran with this card the duplicate directory disappeared. CHKDSK found no problems on the 32GB card, but I reformatted it in the phone anyway and then copied everything back to it and all is now fine. I'm assuming the phone did a "Quick Format" rather than a full one, as it only took a few seconds. I'm not too worried about the missing image files as these may have been inadvertently deleted anyway. Fingers crossed the problem is behind me now, but I'll keep an eye on it.
I am having similar issues, it's almost like the SD card is not fully loaded, and tried to load but can't. Things are missing, and then they are there. I am using a new 16GB over the original 8GB.
I am rooted though, am I able to do a format of the SD card?
Also when I choose to make it work as disc drive, nothing happens, does not show up on system.

i had the same issue when i first rooted my phone i was able to put the card in an old HTC and it showed up as a drive in USB mode and i was able to run a file recovery tool to extract the data
then re format and copy the data back to it..
but the current issue is just random and strange...
stuff just seems to disapear as far as the phone is concerned ...
as i have already mentioned i had stuff vanish after running nandroid back up..
So for me it seems it happens shortly after bootup. Yes I give it enough time.
But once I open the all programs area, I see it load all of the icons. Maybe some issue with it not loading untill I open that area up.
Also, most of issues seems to be coming from the App Organizer Application, it's updated often so hopefully my issues will go away.
*As I play around with things it seems almost all my issues are related to the program. Even the issue with it not showing up on my computer when connected through USB. It does show up, just takes awhile, and once it does my Apps Organizer icons flash. So related.

some cases seems related
A few days ago I asked how to get more memory on my desire, I was using the ICS beta rom, after trying out a few things that were suggested I now cannot use the phone at all without this message of "x" process has crashed normally contacts or calendar which is then followed by process.android.accore has crashed. This seems to be a system failure but I do not have a clue why. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks
mate all i can say is wipe and reinstall , this sometimes happens did u try Titanium backup to move contacts storage or phone storage to SD , Or something similar
