I've upgraded my Wave through Kies and I can tell you that's not a LITE. I changed from Bada 1.2 to Bada 2.0 with backup and all the other things. So: that's FULL.
Some at 'Bada Forums' says these updates are still laggy and still a beta....is it true?

Laggy... mmmh maybe not. But there is still some problem. In my case WiFi isn't working as well as before. Now sometime my connection stop working and I've to disconnect/reconnect or restart the Wave.
Ok, I understand....this is a ""GASS"" releaser update....hehehe....crazy Samsung....

Thanks for the answer , so they changed their policy of 'all kies update will be lite'...
but the new backup function (the one that worked only on bada 2.0 and that performs a full backup, including the apps installed) does work now also on bada 1.2 during the firmware upgrade?
But the Firmware is not final at all. Many things are quiet unsmooth and Samsungapps is still laggy as hell.

Yes, of course! During the process Kies ask me if I wanted to perform a complet backup. At the end of the process Kies said to me that a "Backup" was available to restore. So I restored it and ALL my data returned as before.
Not to consider as Spam: you can find a complet log here (Italian users)
@guari the firmware is either a partial firmware or a full firmware. So when u talking of upgrading from bada 1.2 to 2.0 the 2.0 Firmware never can be a partial firmware even it is a kies update. So its a full firmware
do you advise upgrading my wave 2 from bada 1.2 to 2.0?
Very interesting at all...
XEO for S8500...
First official last year...
Now FIRST update with ShpHD and PFS...
FIRST where FOTA seems official/public...
And strange...
If I connect to Kies. It tell me that LA1 is available...
And if I have flashed XXLA1, then it told me it is the latest...
But I thought it is only for Testmode LA1... and also via FUS not easy, only on advanced tab available...
Maybe I have pressed Testmode... in FUS Tool...

I just clicked on software update/check for update in the 'About Phone' section of my settings. I've never clicked it before. It said new firmware required. So I let it download the new software. Then it said charge battery before updating, and then it let me choose when to resume the update. I chose 3 hours. So I'm on stock Android 2.3.3. Gingerbread XWKE7 . What will it update to? I'm a bit worried now, is it going to wipe stuff? Everything's working good so I don't 'need' to update, but it would be nice to. Can I cancel the update? Only thing I can see is 'resume update'.
If you are from london uk. I think the OTA(over the air) version is gingerbread 2.3.4. I do not think it is a wipe device firmware but just to be safe, back it up via kies if your phone is not rooted otherwise use titanium backup if your phone is rooted.
Trust me I would go with the update. Some improvements. I wish we could update
For sure it is NO WIPE version.
Thanks guys, it's a relief it didn't wipe anything.
This is what I got. I thought it might also update Android but it hasn't. What benefits can I expect from the updated Gingerbread XWKF3?

Oh look, it's the voluntary forum policeman.
I made a duplicate thread because I wasn't sure which forum to post it in and I panicked a bit last night so needed a fast answer. OK?

Hi all,
After flashing my GWA2 (SM-R830) following this guide to change my CSC, there's now Green Writing on my Watch whenever I boot the watch. In addition to that, OTA Updates are now failing.
A person in that post has the same issue as I had and fixed it by flashing stock firmware but that doesn't seem to fix it. I'm back to BTA1 and the green writing still persists as well as OTA still failing. The watch is fully working, except for OTA and said writing.
Anyone got a lead on why that is and possibly how to resolve it?
Edit: Solved it by reflashing it and leaving "Auto Reboot" ticked.

Is that reversible? or am I just stuck with non-working OTA?

Yes it's reversible. Flash this firmware using NetOdin https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ZaoBm2hFXT2QTeZxrS8j4sqqgVyp6Iqo . After that, use Galaxy Wearable to update Tizen to the latest version.
I have exactly the same problem with an Active 2. Can someone point me in a direction toward Firmware to re-flash an 820 too please? (is this just leftover from the combination firmware I used during a region change?)

I simply reflashed the 3-multi files and kept the "Auto Reboot" in netodin ticked.
Hi there!
It's been a few years since my I flashed Firmwares on my S6 with Odin so please forgive me if I'm not quite up to date on that topic.
Background: For installing custom emojis on my S9 I wanted to use Zfont, however, this doesn't work. I did some research and it is said that zfont won't work on debloated Samsung firmwares. Next step would be temporarily re-bloating my debloated device. I tried, however, I couldn't manage to reinstall all the Samsung apps since I don't rebember all of the packages that I removed and the few that have been recovered were not enough to make Zfont work.
In the old days you just could flash the stock rom on a working device to get all the uninstalled factory apps back. Is this possible with Android 10 and OneUI 2.5? Will my data be wiped if I flash it with the current firmware? Do I need OEM unlock?

Download latest firmware. Unzip it, there will be 5 files to flash with Odin.
Home_csc - will keep your data
csc - will wipe your data
Thank you for the info.

Yes
When looking for firmware use your baseband version number in about phone-software info as a base to look for firmware on the net. Just bare in mind you can't downgrade (bootloader/binary) firmware ( 5th number/letter from right of firmware name).
You can also use frija pc tool to download lastest firmware. It will be quicker than sammobil. Your have to search here on xda as i can't post links at the moment.
The flashing process went fine. Unfortunately, it didn't bring back the disabled apps. Probably because they have been disabled via adb for user 0, which means that they're still on that device but inactive for the current user.
At this point, I just don't want to spend any more investigating which missing apps causes zfont not to work.

Hi, all!
So i got me a used Note 10+ that worked as it should. But when it came to modding, it refused to cooperate so i couldn't find the way to flash in anything non-custom, and even that barely. But i wrote more in detail about that in another thread, and that's not the issue for this post.
So, i believe i identified the problem, that the phone refuses to give the controll over the USB port to the 'other device', which basically makes any flashing impossible. In trying to solve that problem i managed to flash a couple of versions old, but not too old, stock A12. Through Odin. From the samfw.com. In first attempt I flashed the HOME-CSC as it said on the Sammobile's page that one should do, but I ran into complications and soft bricked the phone. So in second attempt I managed to flash in (again through Odin) the same couple of versions old stock A12 but this time I chose the CSC instead of the HOME-CSC, so that i would get the whole of the version i was trying to flash. This time the installation went well without glitches. But when i rebooted the phone, it turns out it has the Star wars theme as default and it cannot be deleted or uninstalled no matter what i do. I can install the 'ordinary' theme from the themes store, but after any resetting, it goes back to star wars as default.
So my question now is how do i get rid of the damn thing, and make the ordinary theme as default. I find no such alternatives in the menus of the themes.
As i said, flashing anything non-stock didn't work, not even TWRP (and i have flashed many devices before). Now it won't even accept the flash of any new version of the stock rom through Odin, which i tried to do in order to get a non-star wars theme as default.
The only way i can come up with is adb, if that would even work. How do i do it with adb then? And do you have any other ideas?

Thank you, for some reason it went well. The phone wouldn't otherwise accept any flashing when I tried it before. But I think I noticed a tendency that if I leave it alone for a while, it is more cooperative next time I try something...
