I have rooted Arc and I'll change bootlogo on my phone. How to? I didn't find logo.png/.bin on system. Could you help me?

If what you want is to change the boot animation, you just need to change the bootanimation.zip file in the "/system/media/" folder for the one you want and change its permissions for the same permissions as the original, you can use root explorer to do all that, you can find many boot animations here in XDA and there are Threads were they explain how to make your own boot animation.
Hope I was of help.
About bootanimation I know, I use RedHelix, but I need change bootlogo text "SonyEricsson" too, when phone starting.
That's kernel related, you'll have to decompile the kernel for that I believe. If you flash a different kernel, you will notice that it has a different logo.

Hi everyone, I changed my boot animation using the app Boot Animation Changer. However now I need to return my phone to the store so I kind of need to get it back to the original boot animation. With the app I did "Stock animation" however it's not the right animation lol.
Is there anywhere I can get the stock boot animation to put on my phone, and how to do so with/without the app?
Thanks everyone

<ps, search first>
Great topic, but it doesn't provide the stock boot animation like I'm looking for, only the means to change the boot animation. I tried to search for it actually, but couldn't find anything in regards to finding the original EVO boot animation.
Anyone? Can't seem to find the stock animation.
^^; Doesn't anyone have a backup they could provide?
here is the stock bootanimation: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VMX4Z1ZG
you could also find it on any rom that uses stock bootanimation like DC (extract the zip file, go to resources>customize> and the bootanimation.zip should be there)

Oh I had no idea about it being on the ROMs, that would've been a lot easier. Thanks.
Though now with the new OTA I'm somewhat afraid to replace my phone, might just stick with my phone and the light leak as long as it doesn't get any worse.
Hi
Im looking for the original startup animation.
I dont have it on my phone becouse i use an custom firmware. So im asking if its someone that could share it to me?
It should be in system/media/video/startup
something like that
Use the search button -->"bootsamsung.qmg"
for me, my bootsamsung files are in the system/media folder but it doesn't actually do the boot animation just the normal galaxy S splash screen. No idea, might be the samset kernal or the lag fix but i find it odd that the file is there but it doesn't play it..
I used oclf 2.0 from the market.
There is a option called restore boot animation, It worked for me after i used a lagfix.
Hello all,
Well I am currently using CM7 [build 12, downloading 13 as I type] but my question is I want to change from the Cyanogenmod animation, not that its bad, but I like my own. I have previously changed animations before and also changed my splash screen, so I know how to change them, though I am using CW3, I have tried some that were edify compatible, and clockwork says it flashed, but once re-booted, it is still Cyanogen. I have tried manually flashing, adb, and the "pushboot" method. I also changed the animation zip file in the rom, to the animation of the Android scribble and then re-flashed it. The image changed from Cyanogen, but it was just a Android in metalics that flashed, not the above image. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance.
Hmm.. I have no issues changing my boot animations on cm7..
So not sure why its not working for you but make sure your file is named bootanimation.zip and that your installing it to.. system/media/

You didn't have to root to change the lockscreen. You can fully customize it with Widgetlocker. It's a few bucks, but more than worth it. Look it up & check out the WL themes thread as well, there's some great stuff there.
I wouldn't base my rom on the bootanimation & lockscreen, as both can easily be changed. To change the bootanimation, you either need a flashable zip specific for your rom, knowledge of adb, or Root Explorer or another root-level file explorer. Find the boot animation you want to use and download it. If it isn't a flashable zip, you'll need to know where your rom stores the boot animation. On Sense based roms, the boot animation is stored in system/customize/resource. With Root Explorer (or an alternative) change the name of the original boot animation, and move the one you want to that folder, ensuring it's named bootanimation.zip then set permissions.
There are threads with lists of boot animations available to download, or apps that allow you to browse/install from their list.
If you're having trouble flashing through recovery, I suggest switching to Amon Ra. Whatever you tried to flash was probably amend scripted. Once you've switched recoveries, remember to do a backup!
I also suggest learning more about being rooted before making any significant changes. Know what & why you're doing something before you do it. Good luck & have fun
I have decided to change bootanimation and downanimation on my HOX after rooting and flashing with ARHD 5.1.0. I have found black version of stock animation and by using root explorer replaced both zips. Very simple. Bootanimation worked fine but downanimation did not work at all... blank screen. tried replace the file again but did not help. I have opened the zip and renamed all files so it looked just as in original animation, but still nothing. I gave up and copied original file back and WTH ?? screen still blank on shutting down no animation or whatsoever.
I was forced to flash whole ROM again which helped thankfully.
After a while I thought to myself that there must be a reason or a way to do it properly.... Maybe there was a bug or something and if Ill try again on fresh ROM it will work. But NO!! it did not, bootanimation changed ok but downanimation after replacing the file was disappearing and I could not reverse it.
Then I came up with an idea that maybe I could replace the files in a flashable zip file of a ROM... I am not a developer and I have not been sure it that will destroy the integrity of a file and could lead to a brick. But I decided to give it a go, replaced the files in the ROM file and flashed it again.
After rebooting bootanimation was as I wanted it and downanimation worked as well... whoop whoop... but when I wanted to install some MODs I fallen into bootloop... thankfully I get out of it and now its all working as I wanted.
So summarizing:
If somehow you find impossible to change downanimation try to replace it in the ROM's zip and flash it.
But do it at your own risk .... :]

Did you try Checking the Default.xml file to see if it points to your Downanimation?
I did not but animation worked before replacing the file, then it stopped working after replacing and it did not work after copying back original file ... so it would not be that ....

The trick I use to do is to put the boot animation or down animation in the ROM before flashing it to the device. Worked like a treat.
