[Q] Samsung Smart View apk - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

My SGS2 died today so I thought it might be a good idea to get a Nexus, but yes the Smart View App I have surely wasnt updated to 2.4.2 which should support ICS and as Samsung doesnt support the Galaxy Nexus with their apps yet could someone supply me with the latest version please until I get my SGS2 back?
cheers

The thing is, I think the app is only compatible with the SGSII, so we have to wait until somebody ports it over.

the 2.4.0 does work but due to ICS there are issues thats why I wanted the 2.4.2 release which has been updated on DEC 27th to support ICS ... but as the market is limited to SGS2, Tab and Note I cant fetch it on the Nexus ...

*bump* c'mon guys dont let me down on this one ... really need it ...

really? no one able to quickly fetch, backup and upload it? tried almost everything possible, editing build.prop to get recognized as a SGS2 on the market, android emulator patching and stuff ... unfortunately all attempts did fail ...
so if anyone would be so kind it would be highly appreciated

Brazilian Galaxy S with Digital TV Root and Mod

Hello everyone!
I'm from brazil and our Galaxy S comes with built in 1seg digital TV (it even has an antenna), and I got mine today. Seems a root isn't available yet, so if anyone need me to dump anything or anything else so we can make this work, fire away!
Thanks!
Carlos
Have you tried any of the available methods of root? But first make sure your phone can go into download mode in case anything goes wrong. I'd like to see a picture of this Galaxy S with a TV antenna. Sounds pretty cool
It's been rooted, check the forum.
Did it today using the forum's tutorial.
Has anyone installed ROM's on the i9000B?!
Cheers
Not yet, still trying to figure out how to install all the gapps I want. Gtalk workd fine, but no gmail yet.
Ok, phone sucessfully rooted! now, anyone done any of the most popular hacks? Like the lagfix one? Seems mine doesnt have enough space on /system/ for ryanza's one
froyo 2.2 ?
The big question is : Will be Brazilian GS upgraded to Froyo ? Its the only Galaxy with tv ...
Does it suffer the lag issue ? The gps is good ?
Thanks

I have applied Ryanza's Lag Fix and Market Access, but I'm still an Android novice. No problems whatsoever with Ryanza's, my Galaxy S is the Brazilian model, unlocked and unbranded.

Mine already came with Gmail and Google Talk (haven't tried it yet), or are we talking about different applications? By the way, mine is unbranded.

How do I know if my phone suffers from the lag issue? I applied Ryanza's fix but to be honest I didn't notice much difference.
I think my GPS reception is poor. But I had previous phone models which didn't have good GPS reception themselves (Nokia N97 and Sony Ericsson Vivaz) so I don't really know.
I'd love if someone can dump this firmware.
I'm looking at swype and the modem.

Tell me what to do (or point to the appropriate topics) and I'll do it. Any risks involved?
i don´t know what the problem with brazilian SGS, works perfect to me with root, lagfix, we don´t have roms just it, you can use froyo beta but you need a way to extract apk of digital tv and swype language module (pt-br) just it, and we will have a galaxy like any other
Well I had to xchange my galaxy s for another because I semi bricked it LOL so before I did, I tested the froyo beta firmwares and on all of them the touchscreen didn't work. maybe our kernel is different somehow?
Seems we will have to wait for an official I9000B firmware?
Also, my galaxy didn't come with google apps, I got samsung email and some customized gmail application and some claro ****. Where can I get the regular gmail or another as good email client? Or even better how can I completely unbrand the phone and leave it like the one bought outside carriers?
Did anyone here rooted the Brazilian Galaxy S ? Anyone using Claro ? Thanks.

a lot of peoples use rooted SGS of claro in the orkut community of SGS, try this update.zip man
Now that we have paid apps in Market I cant see why to root . Anyway, I was not accepted in the orkut community . I am working on it right now to figure out what happened .
My big concern is : will be there Froyo for us ?
hi
Maybe this is a stupid question, but would it be possible to use the digital TV app on our "non" brazillian phones?
-TB-
Digital TV it´s hardware thing...
Our cell phones have a TV antenna and a digital receptor.
I´ve instaled clockwork and backuped my phone.
These files will help someone in xtracting swype language and TV app?
Samsung released an oficial Froyo update today.
Let's see how long it will take for us to get it here in Brazil.

(Found- Close Thead ) Can someone provide a Mobile buzz.apk ?

If the new version says its not compatible then there's a reason. Don't think it'd flag as incompatibile if the dev knew it worked on ICS.

[Q] Maps Latitude doesn't work within Jelly Bean

Hi!
I'm having the problem that in Jelly Bean now maps doesn't show any Latitude-friends. It says there were no friends.
I first thought this was because now I've changed my GMail domain (in Germany it first was googlemail.com and now you could switch to gmail.com), but on my Xoom running ICS and the latest maps it works all right. It's just on my GN, where it doesn't work.
Does anyone else have this problem? Or does s.o. have an idea how to fix it?
Regards
McDV
Fix for Latitude
Delete the APK /System/App/maps.apk and redownload from the market. I can now see all my latitude friends.
Just wait for the official release of JB, this version is not the last build of JB and will be very "unstable".... Why dont you guys doenst just wait ????

Why should we?
1) I generally use CM9-nightlies, so why not this?
2) It surely is not very unstable, instead, it's pretty stable. Think about it: They want to release the official version in mid july! What do you think how much they can fix until then? There might be single small bugs left, but if the system could still be considered "unstable", they wouldn't release it before fall! And they wouldn't hand out a firmware to the press, if it wasn't - over all - finish. Just imagine what the Apple-community would write in their blogs...

No one complains, we just ask for solutions that - obviously - exist. There's nothing wrong about it.
I really hate those guys with their "just wait for the official release" stuff. No one prevents you guys from waiting, but please let us enthusiasts test it and let us discuss ways to solve existing bugs on our own. If this annoys you, just don't read it! Thanks!
Glad I searched XDA for this problem - the fix worked for me too. I'm impressed with how stable the leak is already. This has been my only problem so far with native Google apps, or the ROM itself.

How in Tarnations did you manage to install Jelly Bean, if you can't figure out that you need to be rooted to do that?
Protip: I would save/backup the apk somewhere else instead of deleting it so that I can replace it when the final JB update rolls out. This way, nothing gets borked.

Just to respond to the CM9, 4.1 releasing in two-ish weeks so how could many updates occur and the Apple bit:
You say you use CM9 nightlies? Have you noticed just how many bug fixes the CM team can apply in one night? I've seen dozens, and occasionally around 100 bug fixes in a single evening. The CM team is a group (an admittedly large group for independent developers) of people who code for CM on their spare time and are not paid for their work. Imagine what a legion of official Android developers paid by Google for their work on Android could accomplish with bug fixes in a matter of a fortnight! Also, Apple releases developer previews of iOS every single year that are ALSO filled with huge bugs, broken and/or missing features, all the way up to a week or two prior to official release (and sometimes those bugs make it into multiple official releases). The reason you don't hear about the iOS bugs so much is that you have to pay for a developer's license for iOS in order to install most iOS developer previews (unless there is a workaround). In this case, 6,000 Galaxy Nexus and 6,000 Nexus 7's were given to 6,000 developers to preview the software so that they could start getting their applications ready for release. This 'release' was never intended for the end user and was probably already out of date compared to Google's internal builds by the time it came out to those 6,000 folks.
If you want to test it out too, that's awesome! However, it is completely pointless to complain about problems with software that hasn't even been officially released yet and you were never intended to be running to begin with. Also, all non-GSM Galaxy Nexus ROMs are ports and have added bugs as well. The Jelly Bean preview is largely stable and already an excellent update. I just wish Google had held onto it for the full release as users are using the preview's bugs (Google has already stated they are working on bugs they know are in the preview, and some have already been fixed) as an example of exactly what the official release will be like already.

I ask you once again: Who complained about a bug??? Please tell me! No one did! There is just a question of how to cope with an existing bug or how to fix it on our own, but not even one person in this thread complained about the release not being bugless! The only one complaining about things is you, but your complains are totally off-topic. I hope you got it now!
could anyone upload the apk?
Thanks.

Fantastic, worked for me as well. Much appreciated!

Sky Sports TV - bit of a joke really.

Check list:
Galaxy nexus phone to stay the most up to date in the market - Check
Jelly bean 4.1 to have the best stock experience - Check
Brand new Sky Sports TV app to catch the rugby whilst at work or out and about - Che.... oh no, wait a minute, sky have released a brand new app in the last 24 hours that doesn't work with Jelly bean 4.1.
Who releases a brand new app that doesn't work with the newest OS? Is it not normally the other way around? Make sure it works on the most up to date and if it's backwards compatible then great....
I'm gonna have a look and see if it'll go with blue stacks later but I doubt it. Can anyone pull the apk off the market to test please?
May thanks
I'm pretty sure it isn't even compatible with the S3. I would un-root any day to get this app!
Tried to get it working on Bluestacks... But no avail.
remember the sky go app coming to galaxy nexus in the coming weeks, months ago?
lol wait till thats released for nexus (4.0.x only)
so long to make that a new OS was out before it.
and i thought their customer service was bad.
Please someone post the apk

Any roms / kernels with Bluetooth 4.0?

Do any of the custom roms or kernels have bluetooth 4.0 support? The T989 uses a Broadcom 4330 chipset which has Bluethooth 4.0+HS. From what I understand the stock rom does not have the updated 4.0 drivers. This makes many of the new devices using Bluetooth Low Energy not compatible (many of the fitbit type devices).
Any ideas?
Thanks!
From what I know it has v3.0 with A2DP, HS and that's it. Remember this phone is from 2011. But the GS3 has 4.0

Hmm... Even with the Broadcom 4330?
https://www.broadcom.com/products/Wireless-LAN/802.11-Wireless-LAN-Solutions/BCM4330
I've done some digging around and it appears that the 4330 can be made to enable BTLE. It requires updated Broadcom drivers and android 4.3+. There are a number of phones using this same chipset that have gotten BTLE to work (and pair with Fitbit like devices). Looks like the drivers need to be enabled in the kernel compile.
I've got a Samsung Galaxy Nexus running CM11 and it has the 4330 chipset as well. I used this .apk to check for BTLE support and it reports that it is enabled. Unfortunately I don't have any BTLE devices to test with it.
