I just wrote an SMS (2 pages), sent it, but it didn't appear in the SMS list (even though it confirmed delivery). I have the automatic delete SMS setting after 500 messages, so that's not the problem. Does anybody have this problem ?

Anyone know if there is a registry entry to get back the SMS notification in the today tab? It is just a number for how many unread sms messages there were.
email works fine, but the sms isn't.
I lost it somehow and I'm trying to save myself a hard-reset. (yes, I have soft reset)
thanks,
Paul
I've installed SMS Popup so that I get notifications when I receive text messages.
Now the issue is that I've intalled ChompSMS alongside the standard messaging app, which means that when a text message arrives, I actually get two pop up boxes: one from ChompSMS and one from the default app.
Is there any way to stop this? Can I 'assign' SMS Popup just to work for one of the messaging systems?
Cheers,
SMS Popup, like ChompSMS and the default Messaging client will only intercept incoming SMS messages once.
You need to make sure you have notifications disabled in ChompSMS AND the Default messaging client if you are using SMS Popup.
i installed handcent and i like it but i have 1 problem with it when i try and text my wife it will not send but i can send texts to her on stock sms. I can send texts to anyone one else in handcent any ideas?
thanks
p.s how do you delete a app?
I haven't run into that problem with handcent. Here is how you delete the app:
-menu
-settings
-applications
-manage applications
-scroll down and select handcent sms
-select uninstall
iam still havin this problem i deleted her contact info then put it back and it worked for 5 texts and stoped but i did notice something but dont know how to fix.
When i look at list of texts everyone else i send just show there name on hers is name then phone number like this sue <1-123-123-1234> when it comes up that way i cant text her anymore how do i stop this
check all your contacts, you may have her number attached to another contact. if you sync your contacts to google, use google contacts on your browser to check this (it'll be easier)
i did check that but i will look again the funny thing is after i redid her contact info it worked for 5 texts then stoped
Hi xda-developers,
I've got a strange problem. As of last night I have had two problems.
First, it seems that my outgoing SMS messages are no longer saved. Well at least they aren't visible in the threaded SMS conversations and I can't find them anywhere. They do go through to the recipients, I can confirm. Also, I do get incoming SMS in the conversations just fine.
Second, it seems that Gmail is no longer syncing anything. If I go into Gmail and hit sync manually, the sync icon appears for just a couple seconds, then goes away having failed to download any new messages.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Cheers,
Paul Thompson
I can forward the incoming calls to other phone. How can I forward incoming SMS to other phone?
Both voice and SMS forwarding are network functions. And very few networks implement SMS forwarding. You might try contacting your provider and ask if they do, but chances are slim.
As an alternative, you may install a SMS app with SMS forwarding capability - something like "Auto SMS (Autoresponder)" or similar. You'll be paying for each message that gets resent, unless you're on a plan with free SMS.
If you're connected to an Exchange email server you can also sync SMS with email.
You can find these kinds of apps on the market. As the last poster mentioned, you need an sms forwarder. I use sms backup which after 1 minute of receiving a message it backs up the message onto my gmail account under a label of my choosing. You mark them as read or unread. You have a lot of possibilities when it comes to just saving or forwarding your messages. But if you want to be able to respond, then that's more difficult. You can forward the sms to another phone, but responding with the same number is a trickier subject!

Hmmm, I've been carrying two phones until I port my number from T-Mobile to O2.... might have to look into these SMS forwarding apps
