Nokia Ace coming March 18th, all of these LTE phones are for AT&T, Nokia Lumia 710 coming to Verizon in April (WTF)

Yay! LTE at last. I'm glad I'm with AT&T, but WP7 needs to support all carriers if it's going to take off. I'm very happy with my Titan, but I'm anxious to see what the Radiant looks like. If Samsung has a 4.7 SAMOLED screen, it will give the Titan a run for its money.

Damn when is Sprint going to get new windows phone...

Some of the first images of the AT&T Nokia device posted over at pocketnow: http://pocketnow.com/windows-phone/nokia-ace-windows-phone-for-att-pictured-images

I see at&t is getting all the phones now, hopefully Tmobile will get some love.

I'm done with my DVP

I'm loaning my Dell Venue Pro to my GF, and looking to get another phone. Unfortunately there are three requirements i have to full fill.
1) physical qwerty keyboard.
2) windows 7 mobile (and preferably HTC)
3) has to be able to use t-mobile frequencies 1700 & 2100.
What is the best phone on the market in that range (not really worried about price) and are there any new ones I should be waiting for?
thx
There's only two I'm aware of that meet just part of your requirements: T-Mobile HTC HD7 and Dell Venue Pro. No other WP7 phones have the radio freqs you need.

Agreed, searched Google & can't find any other WP7 devices on any carriers that use the AWS frequencies that T-Mobile USA uses.
Maybe wait for Mango, or switch to Sprint where you would have a phone that meets all three of those requirements.
Thanks for the info guys, it's kind what i found while researching but i needed some confirmations.
I actually can't use either t-mobile or sprint because i'm in Canada and one of the new carriers is running the same frequencies as t-mobile. Which is why it's one of my requirements.
Thanks for the replies guys.
I'd just wait to loan it to her for a couple months and see what comes out.
I love my lg quantum, but you'll have To get the unlocked version LG C900 Optimus 7Q. It is the most solid of all of the wp7 and the only other wp7 device with a qwerty keyboard. The screen is a little small but it makes it look sharp. It is the most under rated wp7 phone out there. It is the only wp with a built in registry editor.

Is there a version of it that supports AWS 3G frequencies? This is what he's asking for as his service provider uses AWS (1700/2100MHz 3G), same as T-Mobile USA & a few other provider in the US & Canada do.
Only other hope is a Nokia WP7 device. Their recent devices have all been penta band so will work with AWS. Might not get a keyboard model in their first batch though.
Yes, 2100mhz.

It needs both 1700/2100. So it won't work. I agree about the other person with pentaband, but that won't be the case with WP7 Nokia devices. Qualcomm doesn't have pentaband. The Nokia pentaband is a Broadcomm chip. Don't know what is taking Qualcomm so long to do this...

Are you referencing the fact that both Dell (suposedly this month) is releasing their firmware update and Microsoft supposedly releasing Mango at the end of August?
If Canadian carriers didn't screw us over for data i'd be able to buy other phones, but i'm SoL right now to stick with mobilicity
why not just get another dvp?
the new firmware will be on it.. it is unlocked... mango is almost out (and you could also put beta 2 on it if you like...)
it is also hella cheap.. $299

Several reasons actually.
1) Dell refuses to ship to Canada or accept Canadian billing addresses. , the first time around i had to get a friend to buy it on his CC then ship it up to me. Because UPS has a brocrage fee it was another 100 bucks to cross the border.
2) Dell pissed me off. The first one I shattered on a plastic body kit for my car, and it took over a month to actually get one shipped up here. That was calling them every other day to keep the ball rolling. I'd still be waiting had I not done that.
3) I had to manually program all the Mobilicity settings into the DVP. I'm hoping the other carrier my gf is on won't require me to plug all the txt and mms settings into the phone, she's not the worlds most technical so i want something that just works for her.
Where do I get Beta 2?

No phones meet your criteria because "windows 7 mobile" is not a phone OS. If you want a mobile Windows 7 device, try an Acer Icona W500 or an Asus EEE pad.

Yes, it will but you might have to carrier unlock the phone. But your 3G won't work! If you don't mind using EDGE then you can go get it. Otherwise i would recommend you switch to att or buy the 710 from t-mo or wait for new phones to be released in T-mo//

I believe the AWS bands are for AT&T's LTE network so I don't think it would work. I wonder if there is any way you can flash a different radio so somehow it would work on T-Mobiles 3G/4G like the AT&T Galaxy Note.
mmmmann. i'd really pay for this if I could use it on T-mo
I could possibly get my hands on an AT&T Lumia 900 for free. But it seems I wouldn't even be able to use it here in Germany. Sucks balls. :/

Anyone know if it's going to be available at Costco for pre-order on March 30th or if it will be available on launch date there?
Hey guys. I just got the lumia yesterday so if anyone has any questions let me know!
This is my 1st windows phone so I'm pretty juiced.
I really don't know too much about other windows phones but this one has visual voicemail and Internet sharing. So like tethering but without having to use a USB connection. Also the phone uses a micro sim. Just like the iPhone 4/4s.
But yeah ask away ill be more than happy to answer all questions. Thanks
EDIT: tried posting some pics but I guess I'm too new to post links...
Can you send video in MMS yet? I thought this was a launch date feature of the 900 but I could be wrong.

One X coming to Tmo in may

I don't have any documents to post or sites to confirm, but I've called 3 different Tmo stores (chicago) and all 3 tmo peeps said the same thing: One S first and then very shortly after the One X will release. One guy said april but other 2 said May. I asked why u no put online? And they said tmo won't but tells them roughly but not specific date and def won't put online.
Thank god. I was pissed I had to settle for one s knowing the one x exsisted.

Me personally, I would be happy with any One X variant, quadcore Tegra 3 or dual core S4, even if I only got 16 Gigs vs 32, as long as I have that 4.7" 720p screen, I would be very pleased.

I don't think tmobile will have one x when they already announced one s is coming to them.
Salesman will say anything I bet they don't even know difference between one s and x.
only the One S will be coming to Tmo sorry whoever told you that is wrong.
One X is coming to T-Mobile in the UK, not sure if that makes any difference.
some salespeople will tell you anything no doubt, i used to work for att. some are honest. and some are in between like the rest of the world. but 3 different tmo workers from 3 different stores said the same thing and that seems like a good indication to me. and i did make sure they understood i was talking about the one x and not the one s. obviously we will all know for sure in 2 months whether yes or no. i figured if anyone else was searching as much as me to find a way to get a one x running 4g on tmo then this would be good to share with them

1. Definitely not a quad core
2. Probably a 4.3 touch screen
3. Only 16GB

As for me I'm getting the international version..
1. Definitely a work of fiction.
2. Probably fictitious.
3. Only fictional.
;-)
I've spoken to T Mobile twice over the phone and once at a physical site regarding the One X. My main question was regarding the 1900 MHz band. All 3 specialist I had spoken to (I had tech support on the phone twice) stated T Mobile was not operating 3g over 1900 MHz and had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned the refarming in a few cities on the West coast.
The sales rep at the T Mobile store pretty much had no idea if a refarming of the 1900 MHz would actually happen but did confirm it was out there as a 3g network in a very limited market, Boston, MA is not one
My point in all of this is, not one rep mentioned the One X coming to T Mobile USA.

Sprint and Verizon are cdma carriers who's contracted users cant use a GSM device, which is why they have their own versions.

Because this is better.
WHY would you ever want AT&T to offer this device???
$350 off contract is much better than paying $650 off contract or $199-$299 on contract at the carrier. It'd have carrier bloat, logos, locked down firmware (blocked tethering!) and slow updates.
If you seriously want an AT&T branded Nexus, you clearly don't get it...

they do sell other Android devices, but NOT the ones Apple is actively going after. And while Apple can't tell them what they can and cannot sell, I think it would be more of a conflict of interest. Yes...iphone has been released to other carriers but at one time att had exclusive rights to the device. Plus, like i said..Apple and att pretty much go hand in hand. while i have never liked Apple, it's good business sense for att. Kind of don't bite the hand that feeds/don't rock the boat?

They don't go hand in hand anymore... Apple sells the iPhone on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and another 5 regional / MVNO carriers in the USA now. Apple doesn't care anymore, they just wanna sell phones. It's a relationship of dependence between Apple and AT&T, simply out of necessity because Apple wants the access to the huge bucket of customers AT&T has, and AT&T just wants money.

You international guys are taking this question to a place it wasn't meant to go. The OP is just wondering why AT&T isn't offering it subsidized on contract..not asking for an AT&T branded and bloated GNex. Don't say this isn't possible, because both AT&T and T-mobile offered the Nexus S unbranded. Don't confuse Verizon's BS with the GSM carriers...

Bell S3 Discontinued?

I was checking out the S3 on different carriers, when I noticed that Bell has removed the S3 information page from their website, as well as making it not available for purchase. Any links pointing to the S3 on Bell are dead. I'm wondering if this could point towards an imminent launch of the Galaxy S3?
All phones are discontinued at some point during their blossom....
The Bell s3 is definitely discontinued according to two Bell stores I visited.
Isn't it kinda early for Bell to discontinue the S3? The S5 hasn't even been released, and Bell has sold older phones before. It doesn't seem like any other carriers are following suit.
The s3 has been around for a long time and Bell now has the 5" 1080p Alcatel quad-core Meaditek phone on voice-only for $49.95.
