do cyanogen come already OC like Miui?
CM comes with overclocking support, yes. By default it is overclocked to 1 GHz but you can change this.

I am running Cyanogen Rc-4 with Incredikernel on my Incredible.....
I have set the speeds to 1113 and 128 using smartass governor in Cyan mod settings...
If i check set on boot will it really do it?
Or should i use Setcpu in conjunction to make sure?
Chad's kernal has a smartass governor and does this already. No need for set cpu
If you want to overclock then yes if not then no..... by default Chad's kernals are set at stock speed so if you want to overclock you will need something to overclock with.... just don't bother the min setting or smartass wont work correctly....

Is an overclocking widget needed for SkyRaider 4.0?
feedback anyone?
Needed? No. You can use setCPU if you want. Make sure you're using an overclockable kernel, I'm not sure if skyraiders stock kernel is.

Skyraider doesn't use an overclocking kernel. Chad's sense kernel is what I typically use. You can overclock to 1.113 from .998. But I can't really tell a difference in speed, I just like his kernel.
I'm currently running the rooted 1.82 rom from here on the forum, just stock android with sense. Rooted and s-offed with AMT without a problem. Clockworkmod installed. Everything works great. And I know how to flash new roms and such.
I actually like this standard rom, but I'd like to give overclocking a try. Can anyone point me to some information, or any good place to start?
Do I have to install a new kernel, if so, any preferences?
Thanks

I'd start with setCPU. I was using it to overclock/underclock until I realized CM7 had overclock settings built in.
I'm overclocked to 1.1.
Underclocked to 386.
I was when I was using setCPU as well.
U can buy it in market or get it at blackdroid.

I tried it, but on the standard rom it only lets you change frequency between 245 and 800 MHz..
just installed Virtuous unity, it already has some oc profile built in.
don't know if I can change that or if I have to use setcpu to override the standard settigns...

Yes you could use setcpu with unity but i wouldnt, because the hole point is not to
use a java based app to oc with. here is the why and how to change unity freq

Yeah I already noticed that on the virtuous site. Can I somehow check which frequency the cpu is running on? what frequencies does the dz normally run on?
I know the max is 800, but I guess it does some downclocking?
So I have a rooted DInc2, and I am running the GB with sense 3.0 rom, but I hate how it lags sometimes when unlocking the device or after closing an app. Is there any way to overclock when using this rom, or do I need to wait for an OC kernal? I have tried various overclocking apps, but they give me a max of only 1GHz which makes no difference. Can anyone help me?
You need an OC kernel - no way to do it in the rom

I guess I will be using CM7 for a while then.
Hello guys,
I've just flashed Cool BravoS v6 ROM. It has the Andrev_oc Daemon, which overclocks my Desire to 1.152 GHz by default.
Do you guys know what the default desire clockspeed is? Because I don't want to shorten my phone's lifetime
Thanks in advance
