what is this option doing? i found it under input settings?
does it have a trackpad?
ICS has built in support for mice and trackpads.
the trackpad is for devices such as the Asus Transformer. The mouse support is because you can use an adapter to plug in a mouse to this phone, or plug in a mouse to a tablet such as the transformer.
because this is a stock ICS device, the settings are there even though you may never use them. i've tested a mouse with the GNex though and it works great.

Bluetooth keyboard and mouse input works fine with a Logitech DiNovo Mini on all versions of ICS that my GSM Nexus has had.
not all bluetooth or USB mice/keyboards will work.
On my Asus Transformer, i've tried 4 USB mice, none worked.
On the galaxy nexus, I've tried all 4 and 3/4 worked. but on one the scroll wheel did not work properly, making only 2/4 actually useable.

My Microsoft Bluetooth mouse works just fine with it.
I'm sure that my apple bluetooth keyboard and mice would work then. FYI if you peeps do connect the apple keyboard, don't forget to hit function f6 twice..otherwise your keyboard won't work properly
I have a bluetooth keyboard from logitech, and it makes the tablet much easier to use, more of a laptop experience. Now I wanted to use the tablet connected to my TV, but find it a hassle to have to use the screen to select things. ect.
My question is, will any bluetooth mouse work? Logitech has a special android mouse, but its $50! I see other bluetooth mice out there for about $10-20.
Will any bluetooth mouse work? Or do I need a "special" android tablet mouse?
Thanks!
No. You need to be sure that the mouse pairs with the tablet via a 4 digit code (usually 1234 or 0000). The Targus bluetooth laser mouse (AMB03US) supposedly doesn't need a code, but I couldn't get the tablet to pair without it. I switched to a different mouse (Targus Bluetooth Comfort Mouse #BH3874)which used a code and it worked flawlessly.
yes ı use atech bt630 is work
YEAP!!
Yes!! With current Technology, many Bluetooth Mouse are possible to be paired with tablets. Some of them is specially built for pairing purposes too You may ask Acer/Tablet Specialists near your area, for ensuring your Tablet A1000 is confirmed compatible to your plan-to-buy Bluetooth mouse
If this helps and convinces you, pls kindly hit ''thanks'' button

I took the risk and bought a cheap "slim black bluetooth mouse" from ebay ($10) and it works! Im currently using the logitech android keyboard. I know any bluetooth keyboard will work, but the Android specific funtions really make things easier.
Hello. I have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse that pairs and connects succesfully but after entering in idle state for a few seconds they both stop working until i press on the keyboard or mouse. Is that normal? Is there a way to avoid this idle state and loss of connection?

Anyone having this issue too?

Bluetooth working mouse with Android devices
Hi
Last month I bought Modecom BT keyboard with case and mouse (set) for Sony Xperia Z2 tablet.
Keyboard - model Modecom MC-TKC10BT and mouse model - Modecom MC-BM6
Keybaord has worked well since beginig, but I have had problems with mouse - flickering, many stops,
completely unusefull.
I have paired both devices with Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 (rooted - X-Note ROM version - 16.0 by Soloilmeglio - Xentrix
Android based 4.4.2) and there was the same problem (only with mouse).
I have thought there is Android problem, but I have bought new - cheap mouse Esperanza Model EM123K and it works well and smoothly.
There is not any stops and disruptions.
It seems that is not an Android problem (As I wrote on some internet sites and forums), but hardware problem with some bluetooth devices.
Best regards
Marek
Hi there!
As it is written in the subject, the problem is related to the OTG feature of the Galaxy S2.
I've bought a $2 USB adapter for my phone and I have been able to mount a pendrive or a HD (when it is plugged to an external power source).
But when I try to connect a Mouse, Keyboard, Gamepad, etc., nothing happens. Not even an error message.
I'm using an official Android 4.03 rooted ROM (Claro Argentina).
Does anyone know what could be happening? The problem is my ROM (and it's drivers)? Is my USB otg adapter that is not compatible with mouse and keyboard?
I attach a screenshot of my system

Thanks!

Same here with official ICS 4.0.3
I have the same issue with official ICS and CM9. I've seen youtube videos where they show mouse and keyboard just working on a GS2 just running official ICS.
As soon I see this, I tested it on my own SGS2 and it's works!
I'm using stock firmware LPW (open europe) with CF-Root.
I have had this problem too and I figured that this is problem with missing drivers in kernel (in my case) - it was firmware issue. Some firmwares (official) don't have all drivers necessary to work with all mouses and kayboards (some work some not). That's depends on how the kernel was compiled for firmware.
Try to install other firmware (official) or other kernel if you don't care about being 'stock' - maybe this will help.
Works using Siyah kernel.

A standard USB-HID keyboard works fine if it doesn't consume to much current.
Blue tooth mouse and keyboard works to you know.. Just sayin'
Actually its all depends on your USB otg cable. I have two but one doesn't work for mouse/keyboard but works only for pendrives. Another just work perfectly for pen drives and even mouse/keyboard. I am using stock 4.0.3 non rooted ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32244758&postcount=4
Your keyboard probably does work, but needs more ampere than the phone can deliver.
I just tested my Note 2 with a USB keyboard connected directly and it didn't work,
but when I connected a USB hub with external power, the keyboard worked fine.
What should I buy?a usb OTG cable or a MHL cable? What's the difference between the two?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
OTG cable is for connecting USB devices like mice or USB flash drives to your phone.
A MHL cable is for connecting your phone to a display with HDMI input like a TV or monitor.
So what you should buy really depends on what you want to use your cable for.
Can I use a mouse without rooting my device?
Yes, buy an OTG adapter and plug it in. Also, I believe you can get a bluetooth mouse and use that.
Yes, Bluetooth mouse and keyboard work without issues. I have a Logitech mouse and an Apple keyboard that never gave me problems.

That,s great, I have an HP model that doesn't require a transmitter. On my first few attempts I it wouldn't recognize it. Got it now.
Next question, Is there any software to control settings for the mouse? Everything on the play store seems to turn your android INTO a mouse. What do you use? Thanks.
using my powered otg host usb adapter, my nexus 7 2013 flo does not recognize the device, not even a notification. The same keyboard and otg works on my note 2, and my research showed that it also works on the n7 2012. Anybody else?

Mine works fine.
I had not tested it with a wireless keyboard, until I saw your post. I have the Logi K400 and this: http://www.amazon.com/aLLreli®-Adap...=UTF8&qid=1411599097&sr=8-11&keywords=allreli (aLLreli® 7-in-1 OTG Adapter Cable ) and it works perfectly.
I had the same problem but then I downloaded and flashed this kernel and the keyboard worked for me.
