[Q] Flashed CWM5, got errors, can't fix, need help - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed CWM5 through CWM3 purple. It rebooted into CWM5 and I got a ton of errors in red text, only the up and down buttons work and I can't select any options on the menu.
I then flashed it again using ODIN , put it in the PDA slot ect ect, and the same thing happened. Tried to ODIN back to CWM3, same thing. Tried to ODIN ACS recovery version 1, same thing. Completely stuck. Need help please.

I've never heard of that happening but you may need to revert back to stock ec05 and try again. This time just odin in cwm5 on ec05 and tell me how it goes.

Yea it was really weird, everytime I rebooted into recovery, or after ODIN, it did it for me, it booted into CWM5 and gave me errors...I did the 3 finger recovery thing, and ACS recovery loaded up normally, no freakin idea what happened, but it is worked out, I think.

help please

I have a major issue. I flashed a new rom but my phone got stuck in bootloop. I went into recovery and tried to flash my backup. When I went into recovery my usb storage was unmounted. So I figured I'd go into oden and flash a new kernal. When I did this I placed the file in the phone section not the pda section of oden. I realized this mistake after I started to flash and paniced and unplugged the usb. Now when I turn my phone on its stuck at a screen that says hook the phone up to kies and go into kies recovery. It will still let me get into download mode. Anyone know how to fix and what is all needed to fix, kernal, drivers etc....... Thanks
Have you tried this thread?

[Q] accidentally flashed a rom in the phone part in odin....

i accidentally flashed a rom in the phone part in odin and now im stuck in a bootloop..... hooray i tried just flashing the eg30 modem to see if that would fix it and nothing.... i also tried flashing the stock rom again in the correct pda section.. still nothing any ideas?
Usually flashing just the modem in ODIN gets you back up and running.
yeah i know ive done this before but its not taking this time..
Take out the battery and SD card if you have one and let it sit for a little bit. Try going into download mode after that and flashing it correctly.
so i fixed it by forcing it to flash cm7 it didnt get past the splash screen so i odined the stock rom again and presto it worked. why did that work?

[Q] Possibly Bricked

So, I dun messed up.
I was on stock rooted lk8, and tried to go directly to MA7, even though I knew better. My own fault.
Anywho, once I flashed to MA7 the phone lost root, lost custom recovery, and would not activate.
I flashed CWM to it, and CWM would show up, but not allow me to do anything (wipe phone, restore nandroid).
So I tried flashing the stock image (lj1) via ODIN, and now it fails whenever it gets to sboot.img.
I can not get to recovery, stock or otherwise, it tells me to do an emergency restore from Keis (which does not work).
I can still get into download mode but the odin flash fails every time. I've tried flashing the PIT along with the stock Image but still no luck.
Anyone have any ideas before I head out to get it replaced?
UPDATE: Tried flashing back to MA7 using the oneclick and it worked, but phone is still not activated. I can get to stock recovery now as will. Will keep working on it.

Have you tried the chameleon fix? It is here if you search for it. That might make the phone activate. If not, do what I did and flash LJC and then move up to MA7

TWRP Recovery not working

TWRP Recovery not working. Each time I reboot into recovery the Teamwin logo just stays there, screen would flicker every 5-6 seconds. I can not access anything, e.g. flashing, wiping, backups, restore....nothing. Everything else works fine, Odin mode good, Phone good. Just having that recovery problem. any help would be greatly appreciated .
sounds like your recovery is corrupted, find an odinable recovery or Odin back to complete stock and start over with the rooting process
SPRINT GS3 FAQ
That's odd if its corrupted, I haven't flashed a bad rom, files, etc. Ill try the odinable recovery, if that doesn't work, then its stock for me ):
Yea it happened to me...I used odin and got cwm...then I used odin again got twrp....now everything is.fine.except that I cant access certain folders...it reads their files as 12...dont knoe why

Have you tried to flash a custom recovery using Odin for PC? If you can then you should try to install Billards back to stock counter reset mc2 ROM. You may have to reroot and I recommend CF Auto Root. Heres zip file for Odin. A flashable tar file to use in Odin
When running Odin make sure ONLY thing checked is Auto reboot. You are in download mode on phone...(vol down-home-then power..holding all three till it boots into download mode). Make sure com port is lit on Odin.Click on PDA and locate the cwm file and click on it. Should put it into the PDA slot, hit start. If it fails change usb input slots with cable, hit reset and try again. Make sure you have the Billard 412 Rom on external/internal before doing tthis. Once the recovery is flashed try to install the Rom.
Let me know how it goes and by the way is been awhile since Ive seen you from the OG EVO days!
