swagged out stock swagger =on or just stock rom it depends on what kind of sense you really want sense 1.0 is meant for our evos whether we like it or not it will be the best preforming sense and best battery friendly sense 2.0 and 3.0 and 3.5 are alll battery hogs for our evos hardware also GB is not very battery friendly like froyo so ever sense omjs 2.2 froyo based roms stopped being developed the best gb rom would be swaggedoutstock for your battery ive tested it for a month and found the best battery with it but still not nearly as good as the Old stock sense 1.0 froyo roms
Battery life is more dependent on the kernel you are using than the Rom. However, going strictly on the stock kernel the best battery I got was on tommytomatoes classic rom.

What's the best kernel for r3charged from as far as battery life goes?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
That depends on your phone, the kernels act different on different phones. The only way to know for sure is to flash each one and see for yourself, it's a pain I know but that's all we got. Poonsense gives me the best battery but most people here seem to like lithids freedom kernel the most.

neophytes rom compared to what ?, its definitely better than the default rom. I found that neophytes rom gave me excellent battery life =D
compared to NexTSense? i think NexTSense have good battery life. Never tried the Neophyte's Neophyte yet.
Oh sorry heh heh. I was in a rush a wasn't very specific. I meant between his two rom's. Anyone feel any difference between his stock based one and his sense based one?

I switched from the normal one to the battery save, and noticed a distinct improvement in battery life.
That said, there are so many contradictory comments on threads about overall performance of different ROMs, the only way to find out is to give it a go on your phone.
I guess it is fair to say that the battery save version should be better, but you may not need it....
Battery save Roms only run up to 800mhz though
Having tried both I feel that Neophyte 1.6 is the best Rom for battery.
Alright thanks everyone. I'll give then both a try.

i run my NexTSense on 806mHz only..
As the post states I'm coming from a rooted dx. I had pretty sick battery life and I know I'm going to take a hit on the dinc.
I've tried a few roms and haven't done much with kernels. Any suggestions or tips so I can make it through the day.

Aosp roms are supposed to get better battery life and I like the invisiblek kernels I'm sure I typed that name wrong but I'm on my phone.

I've tried just about every Rom out there for the incredible and I've found that the Super-Z Rom with the included Ziggy kernel is hands down the best Rom. The battery life/battery charge rate is absolutely outstanding. Additionally, the Rom itself is the fastest I've tested. With it slightly overclocked you can hit mid 1800 benchmark scores. Needless to say, this is my every day Rom and I don't see myself changing for a while. Probably not until I get a new phone actually.

I Just lou's senseless rom with this #4 kernel. a whole day with heavy use, and 2 with medium use
Warm TwoPointTwo RLS5 with the ziggy kernel that comes with it. Heavy use on the stock battery from 8:30 am until 6:30 pm and I'm at 66%
Thanks for the suggeations. Are you guys using the stock battery. I was using a few today and the battery went from 90 to 45 in just a few hours of playing around. Are there any special settings that i should stop. Ive also read about underclocking?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I'm on the stock battery. It's a stock flash of Warm RLS5, except for the transparent titlebar mod and the Warm3 boot animation. It's truly excellent.
No lie, OMGB 6 and invisiblek 28 are awesome on battery life. Only problem is some apps aren't compatible with Gingerbread yet, so if you use a lot of emulators, then you might want to go with MIUI (better than most imho).

Not to threadjack or anything, but is there a way to get MIUI an apps drawer?
I also enjoy MIUI. It's rather good for battery life.

Heh i figured it is, but I like drawers MIUI does get good battery though, even on stock kernel for me
So ive been bouncing around from rom to rom and I'm wondering wat rom is everyone using as a daily???? .. I'm a prime XL Guy and love tha rom as my daily but the battery life is way better on cm7 with tiamat or savaged ... trying to find the best rom/kernel combo for battery life... I love sense for the bells and whistles but love asop because of the battery life.... hmmmmm.. decisions decisions....

MIUI. It's pretty, has nice built in apps including an awesome theme manager (no social networking though, if you're into that), and you still get great battery life. It's not bloated, but I find it to be the intermediate between Sense and your typical AOSP roms. I've been running one version or another of it for almost a year.
Supersonic Evo 4G | MIUI | Tapatalk
My custom made cm7.2 kanged and compiled from source is my daily now, prior to that was my own modded version of decks 1.3 for sense mikg 3.0 or the classic and ics my compiled and frankensteined cm9 I have it on my evo and my kindle fire
We are legion, for we are many
I've been running the express beta for about a month now. Fast, relatively bug free, and I can get 2 full days out of my extended battery.
Edit: and it has 4G, wouldn't run a ROM without that...
Thanks for the replies.... I've tried the classic v005 and like it a lot... even tho its sense 1.0 it works.... was going to try the final RC mix rom from Jan 24th with the anthrax kernel v4 and see how it goes .. hopefully I get great performance as well as battery life.... since I'm a heavy user lol

Unfortunately, MIUI roms does not have Sense.
Sebs runnymede aio v6.1 with droidzone #18 kernel, very fast and I am currently 26 hours with 30% battery left, moderate use, all simple battery saving tips used.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
If I had to choose one that has the better chance of having a
better battery life, it would be the IncROM.What do you think??
Not the rom depends on battery life, it's nearly everything about the kernel (although I think Sense is also a battery drainer).
So if uses a good kernel (cannot recomend one because I do not like Sense) and one will have very good battery life.

ive recently tried using runny 5.1 (yes... purely for the swipe notification removal) and it trounces any of the other sense roms ive used, though tbh i work at a desk all day and i walk home and im not too far from a socket so power hasnt really been much of an issue.
NICE

Yeah, and how about to ask these questions
I experienced the best batery live with runnyrom but The Aio rom is with #18 kernel is also not bad
Other than kernel I believe that choose app also quite important. For me currently using runnymade ROM and the batteries is stay quite longer and it become drain fast after I install "LED me know" app.

I would recommend RSK v7.1.... The fastest nd most smooth sense 3.5 Rom I vet used... Good battery life.... No lag whatsoever....
Tried sebs AIO nd RunnyRom.... But RSK is the best....
There have been some new Sense roms released in last 10 months, including some Sense 4.1 roms.
What is the answer to the question form the original post today?
I changed from An - droid after a year with it to Alex-V, which is a hybrid rom. Same number of apps, same number of services, at this point the rom is still fresh, but is much faster than previous which was made for Desire. I can't make judgment before a month or so using it, but I was surprised with this revelation. Battery life is _much_ worse tho so I'd say general rule of the thumb is that Sense version and battery life are reverse proportionate.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk 2
What is that hybrid? What I'm really after is this Sense lockscreen which displays unread messages, calls, and agenda events from calendar. I tried Runnymede 3.5 and RSK 4.1 but none of them had it. I only saw it on ICS Sense 4.1 ViperS for Desire S.
Hybrid = sense 2.1+3.0.
Sense 4.1 is much closer to being an unusable pile of binary data than being a rom.

I also think that the kernel does greatly for the life of the battery, the frequency (minimum and maximum)... i use isl-r4mod-kernel-bravo. This kernel use in many roms.
A rom with sense him does not last very much the battery I advise to use the roms of mildwild ... normally I use Mildwild mw-6 based of Redux. With this rom the life of battery is approximately 2 days. : Good:
Is there a current ROM that is rock stable and offers good battery life? I don't mind if its JB or ICS but battery life is really important
Actually roms do not affect battery life, the responsable of battery dains is the kernel, in my experience I have tried only stock ics (rom and kernel) and battery life was decent, then I switched to miui with air kernel and with this kernel I have the best battery life for my use. You have to try different kernes and its setup because every user has different tasks to do with the phone.

Kernel is probably the cause of the battery drain, not ROM

try whichever you want:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
as mentioned above
im very happy with franco's kernel ...you should try it...its stable and gives a great battery life
plus the all the cool options
IMO the best ROM isn't listed on this website. It is CodeNameAndroid. I know it is a ROM full of controversy and I don't care. It is by far the best one I have tried (I have tried almost every ROM), no others even come close. I am running it with the Trinity Kernel v35.
AOKP for ICS or ParanoidAndroid/CM10 for JB
