This ROM is completely stock with exception of root/busybox added and it uses the repacked EL26 that Chris41G posted so that you keep CWM.
All must be flashed through CWM
Stock Rooted EL26 ROM (v1.0)
Stock Rooted De-odex'd EL26 ROM (v1.0)
EL26 Modem
EL26 Stock Kernel - No CWM
On top of it as always. Thanks Calkulin!
Good looks the ROM has the kernel and modem included when flashed through cwm right? And no need to wipe data?

Actually, I'd like to know if it automatically wipes data.
I prefer that ROM's leave the data wipes up to the user!

EL26 is very smooth for me the animations couldn't be smoother , have the modem kernel and calks stock ROM, everything is great can't wait to see how much better it gets

Nandroid just in case as you should anyways. Load up TB just in case as you should anyways and flash. I thought I heard it does not wipe data but these precautions should be taken anyways.
If you wipe all and do it right the first time then it can save later problems if any..
IMHO
Beat me to it, nice.
If anyone has a chance, please notate changes you notice from EL13.

So far the Phone Icon is different. You now have infinite scrolling on the launcher windows like in app section (doesn't stop at the edges just keeps scrolling windows). Modem and all are EL26. Maybe imagining things but feels snappier than EL13. IMO the wakeup and unlock is more fluid now. It doesn't wipe your data. Receiving phone call window is new but looks "unfinished" to me.
I think...

oooo so that horrible wake lag(supposedly from how the phone handles the sd slot) is gone or alot less?
Just did some speed and signal test. No difference as far as i could tell my signal for both was -76 and 3g was 980 kbs for both ran 3 test on each.

In my experience yes. Mine wasn't horrible on EL13 but it went from between 1 to 2 seconds to between instant and 1 second. So for me it is cut in half.

Every non-Aosp rom I've ever flashed (Acs, bonsai, midnight, simply aosp, viper, et..) have always ended up freezing and forcing me to remove the battery to re-boot, I've followed instructions, re-downloaded the roms etc. CM7 and MIUI, both Aosp, have never had that problem, always flashed right the first time, never had to flash twice. I guess I'm just curious if anyone can explain why aosp roms work fine (minus mms, 4g, and the other aosp bugs) and every rom based off of official releases always seem to end up failing?

wrong section man, this is not development (it will be moved soon).
If you are following instructions to the point in ROM guides, I have no idea. Sorry. But more specifics on your problems would help us help you
Its because most of the non aosp roms are backing up and restoring your data. If your coming from a clean flash you have to flash the rom twice before it will boot up properly.
And yes this belongs in the q&a forum

Haha you're not the only one! On DK28 I had to flash twice everytime! And then for a little while on EB13. I don't know what changed though. But I havent had to do it for a longtime. Maybe it's because I never boot into stock before flashing?
It mainly jas to do with us having a crappy recovery.

I experience this to an extent as well.. w/ SRF 1.0.2 it flashes first time and works flawlessly..
What I've found is that all devices aren't created equal. Some work really well others are finicky.
What I've found that works for me is immediately after a flash, I can tell if it's gonna be wonky or work. After the flash, if it 'delays' before popping back up to the recovery menu, it's gonna fail. If the recovery menu pops up right away I'm good.
When it 'fails'.. I'll reboot system.. on the white samsung screen, pull the battery. boot back into recovery, then re-flash. boot system if it doesn't auto boot and you're good.
Not sure why it's like this, but it works for me. MY device doesn't always play nice w/ every version of every ROM and rather than whining in all of the ROM threads about why the rom sucks and I can't use it.. I've figured out a way to use them through troubleshooting and process of elimination using some of the 'fixes' that are posted in the different threads.
all Epics are not created equal. Just gotta figure out what works for yours.
EDIT: now that I think about it, (not that it's a big deal) I'm gonna go find noobnl's thread about checking for bad blocks on the ONEnand... just curious if journaling is trashing my NAND (I don't think it is, but ya never know)
EDIT: Still only 3 bad blocks. Nothing to worry about for me

That's not true. He mentioned Simply which I know for a fact doesn't backup/restore data.
1.) Odin back to EC05
2.) Re-root and Install CWM3
3.) Let it convert you to EXT4
4.) Upgrade to CWM 3.0.2.5
5.) Wipe data.
6.) Go to Advanced/Mounts and hit Format /system
7.) Flash the rom of your choice
8.) If it fails again wipe data x3 and then system x3 for good measure, try try again.
Hope that helps.

Sounds like you are running with journaling off. If you have an improper shutdowns on a ROM without journaling you will get corrupt data resulting in FCs. Get good data on your phone, pick a ROM and enable journaling and flash.

Assuming he's on the Eg22 random rom, he probably doesn't have journaling off since the ROM comes w/ Journaling on.
To the OP, I'd try reflashing the ROM one last time, or if all else fails, Odin back to stock EG22, and then flash a rom. Sometimes a clean start fixes everything.
Hope everything works out.

I agree with T980; SRF 1.2 is probably the most stable ROM with the best battery life. If you don't want EC05 and insist upon EG22, I would first Odin using Chris41g's kernel/root, or flash the stock EG22 update by Decad3nce. After that loads, then flash your EG22 ROM. Personally, I had the best experience with SuperHijacked ROM after the Decad3nce flash.
Hey guys, I seem to be having a problem on my phone recently.. Every time I start it up, or try to load an app or something, I get a message saying the process ends. This happens with Google Apps, Gingerbread Keyboard, Etc. I've tried wipe x3 then reflash, but it doesn't do anything.
I'm running
Genocide Kernel, Firmware 2.2.1, And Simply AOSP v3.1.2
I believe it's still on SFR 1.2 , but it's not saying that in the build number so I'm not sure..
someone please help.
If you have a good nand backup you can do a factory data reset and then restore advanced data. That will clear up any of the FCs. Or clear data in each of the apps giving you problems in settings>applications>manage applications>all and scroll to google services framework and click it and clear data. Do the same for the Gingerbread keyboard and any other app FCing.

When you install a new ROM like AOSP all of that is gone. If you want to do SFR and Genocide instead of AOSP then go ahead. We should get you up and running first though and then you know the steps to take when it screws up again.

I would suggest either pming or posting on the AOSP thread what setup you're on and how best to convert to their Rom. Sometimes they've heard of conflicts or tricks that they can walk you through. I love SRF, but if you want to explore, you should know what works best to transition. You'll get it going, just keep toying. Worst you have to do is Odin and that's not terrible for the phone now and again.

I would go with Blazer. Phantom is CONSTANTLY updating his so that it improves in battery and performance. There's no undervolting script included, but you can adjust that anyways with SetCPU and you probably don't need it because Blazer battery life is amazing.
I'm a Blazer fan myself, so naturally I would recommend trying it out. What you could do is nandroid backup your Calkulin set up, and try Blazer. If you don't like it you can always restore your Calkulin set up.

Follow the OP instructions exactly and you should be good to go. Most people who where stuck at the boot logo didn't wipe fully. You can just flash calks format all to make things simpler, then flash the rom right after.
after you flash blazer 4.0 and can boot, you can restore your data using cwm if you want. Just go to back up and restore in cwm, then advance restore-> data of your latest nandroid backup.

If you do restore-data, does it put all the settings and programs back on the phone like it was with the other rom? One reason i'm hesitant to install another rom is all the work it takes to get it back to the way this one was.
The first rom I flashed was blazer and I loved it! but it seemed like after each update I disliked it more and more, although I'm sure his new one is awesome. My personal preference is Calk's because it was completely stable for me and gave me the best battery life, even overclocked.

Though Calkulin post all leaks and new builds very quickly and is getting the dev opertunities where they are now i believe blazer is far perfecting them.

Did you do an MD5 check to make sure you got a good clean download? I had the same problems before and I found it was due to a bad download (it happens, not the dev's fault).
I've been away from the ROM scene for a while now.
I'm still running Skynote 8.3 and the Perseus a36 kernel. I'm OC'd to 1.7ghz.
Lately, my phone just locks up, gets slow and choppy, and generally doesn't feel comfortable to use anymore.
I have Lagfix running (fstrim) nightly at 5am. I also use Clean Master to clean out my caches often.
I've tried repairing permissions, wiping cache and dalvik, nothing really helps.
Is there anything I can try to bring my phone back to life? I'm no stranger to flashing things or making tweaks.
Any ideas? I realize that development here has slowed down but I'm not in a position to upgrade to a gn3 until maybe the summer.
Thanks guys.

Development hasn't slowed down at all. It is actually increasing. For starters, you could do a full wipe because it doesn't hurt to do one of those every now and then. You could also flash the newest version of Skynote, because what you have there is several versions behind. You could also try Mean Bean, Zen's stock or steele's rom (when it is released) if you like TW based roms.
There are lots of other options as well.

If you want a more STOCK Rom stick with the vanilla version... just follow the OP's instructions..
To get Wi-Fi working you'll need a different kernel, thread found here>>
http://goo.gl/3VvMzl
Kennel HERE>>>>>>

And here's a fully stock 4.3 build...
Go here>>> http://goo.gl/waq1wP
If you don't want to flash another kernel then you'll have to go here>>
http://goo.gl/WZ8Gy3
Step#2 is what you need!
Then you'll be up to date with a new Rom running your new 4.3[emoji106][emoji41]

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.
Honestly the only reason I haven't upgraded is because I really would like to retain tuning abilities for the Wolfson chip. I wouldn't mind flashing a new kernel if I can still tune the DAC. I'm a bit of an audiophile lol.
I haven't found a current kernel with those abilities. Is there a way to enable tuning if I did flash a new kernel along with Skynote Air?

Oh cool, I didn't notice that the AGNi kernel had tuning enabled...thanks! lol
As for Viper, I've been a little interested in it. However, I tend to stray away from software based audio corrections. I tend to like a direct, unmodified stream coming out of the DAC. It does look like something I could make use of though!
So basically I can flash Skynote Air and the AGNi kernel and be done with it all with working wifi? Do I still need to do the one-click procedure through ODIN for 4.3?

Yes on your first QUESTION, to the Rom & kernel...
No to the one click for 4.3. That'll just give you the 4.3 bootloader and Knox crap...
If you just follow step#2 from the above post then you won't need a different kernel. But I like all the extra setting that comes with the AGNi control app included in the KERNEL flash.

Cool, thanks.
So basically I'm doing this then:
-TiBu backup
-Nandroid backup
-Factory Reset
-flash Skynote Air
-Boot
-Flash any updates to the ROM (there is one I believe)
-Boot
-Flash AGNi
-Profit
Of course I'll wipe cache and dalvik along the way and repair permissions before final use.

Hah I forgot!
I usually just factory reset then wipe system. Wiping internal storage will wipe away all my media though, correct?
Geez, it's been way too long...

Alright. Just updated and used the agni kernel.
So far it's a little better. It's still kind of choppy and I get some lockups once in a while. I also notice that my ram usage is quite high. It's pretty much always at 1.6gb used.
I'm not quite sure what else I can do at this point. There's gotta be something in my system slowing everything down...

Hopefully you did a clean install when you updated your system...
As far as the AGNi kernel goes. You'll have to adjust the setting to your liking. If you just flashed it and using it stock no problem. [emoji106][emoji41]
But you could change some of the setting to see if it boost anything for you...
I personally tried a few different governors until I find the one I liked!!
