[Q] Cm7 gtalk video chat - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anyway to get gtalk with video chat working with cm7? I thought there was an apk somewhere in the development thread but I cannot find it via the search function and after perusing through 35 pages I give up.....

Disregard.... of course I found it 2 min after posting this.

Can u post it for those of us who can't seem to find it ? Thanks

I would also like to know which one you are using
I have tried a few and they weren't that good. I was thinking that G+ was suppose to have a feature on mobile to be able to do voice chatting. But I have yet to find that option.

Are you developing wireless tether? Or just asking a question in the development section rather than in General or the Q&A section?

[Q] g-talk video chat?

So someone helped me to get the 2.3.4 gapps for my cm7 setup and told me to install "talk 1.3 installer" to get the latest google talk app with video chat. After I did that the app looked exactly the same and I have no idea how to start a video chat with someone. How do you do it?

Obi Wan, your my only hope!
If you're 'up to date' you get the 'video / camera' icon next to the name (provided they're sitting the same as you or on a computer with appropriate setup.) You initiate and its that easy. If no one is setup for video than you see no icon. Couldnt be any easier.

[Q] Email search in ROM?

1st post - please be gentle. I have tried pretty much all of the roms for the Defy, but despite exhaustive searching cannot find find an answer: do any of the roms have an email app that you can search? I dont want to/can't use K9 or other market apps, but happy to install other email APK (is that right?). Currently on MokeeOS (and loving it) but not being able to search emails (exchange) is hurting.
Thanks in advance
PS, i tried searching both XDA and Google, and the lack of request for this functionalty surprised me - is it just me?
Guess its just me then

Thanks for reply 3. Nope, same on cm7 which I'm now running. Interestingly I tried cm9 and it has searchable email, but no camera support for my defy. So no win?

An article I read a couple days ago said that Now requires you to adb push a couple files over. After that it was supposedly mostly functional.

Post Google Voice?
I know it runs on ICS, I been running it on mine for the last couple of weeks now, installed it via the marketplace, didn't have to do anything besides install it.
It works pretty seamlessly too, text messages/voicemail-transcripts go right to my messaging app, and the voicemail configuration works too (missed calls going to google voice instead of the carriers). And can send/receive text messages thru it as well, and did try calling out of google voice twice.
The OP probably means the new Google voice search that's part of Now, I'm assuming. There's an apk on the SGSII thread that's somewhat functional but I got a parse error trying to install on my G2. Also the voice search doesn't work.

It is a bit buggy but everything works for the most part except voice. The development is moving fast though so hopefully we will have something fully functional soon.
here you can find it.

[Q] Gmail Issue. SOLVED.

I originally posted this on the "bugs and fixes" thread but didn't get a reply. I'm going to return the phone today if I'm the only one with this issue. Can someone please let me know if they are or aren't having the issue below. Thanks.
When I open an email in Gmail to read I then swipe that email right and left to view newer and older emails.
My issue is that some emails are already loaded and ready for viewing (as they should be) BUT some won't load at all no matter how long I wait. The "loading pop up" just hangs there with the spinning wheel but never loads.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?.. I'm stock, not rooted and haven't done any MODS.
Just left tmoblie store and was told that the issue I described above is a known software issue so I guess we all have it.
Thanks for all the replies I mean views.
Yes, everyone has this.
