hey guys just downloaded this rom and its totally amazing i have to say, my battery drains at -100MA, dont know why so was wondering, memonic has mentioned to flash a certain radio but i have
baseband version 12.28B.60.140EU_26.03.02.26_M
i seem to have a good o2 signal here in the uk, all seems to be working well, should i still flash the radio, could battery drain be because of the radio, ill follow his 100% battery life guide after i get a reply from here, just to know whether the radio could be a culprit....oh i have the t version of the rom, just transfered from android revolution HD and battery life was amazing with that one....oh and guys was trying to find it in one of the search forums, im sure i read it somewhere on how to update the market in the t version if u want to since this ones a little old and i kinda like the new one...is there a way to do this...
By the way, thankyou develepor for the ROM, its brilliant
I got latest radio and I'm on o2 uk. Battery life and signal are pretty good but check what is draining your battery first

thing is since its a fresh rom install, i havent restored any of my apps as yet but the battery drain goes up to 263 MA when im using the rom, and i lose 1 prcent every 10 minutes or so, is this normal while using a phone, just going through some apps, but while sleeping its down to 2 MA....just wanted to know whether it was normal, or could the high usage whilst using be because of not flashing the radio memnoc has mentioned....ive just erased the battery stats, going to let the battery drain and charge it till 0ma just to see what its like after, did follow the
How to fix battery drain in any ROM post that memnoc had...
if i still cant fix it, any ideas, since i have no apps restored and its just the tweaked version of smart droid how could one tell where the problem lies...by the way whats your battery usage whilst using the phone
by the way kjb, when ya mention latest radio, what u mean by that, uve got the recommended radio for the rom u have...new to this radio flashing thing

just to give u an idea, downloaded wheres my water free and played that game, lost 10 percent of battery life in 2 minutes....battery drain was at 330 MA...thanku for the link, ill try flashing the latest radio, just trying to figure out what it could possibly be, can a bad radio do this, i guess ill know after i flash it....
im sure it cant be i flashed the rom bad, used the same method many times when i flash a new rom, make sure i wipe and format everything, android revolution hd battery was just utter amazing so radio was fine for that, but this rom dont know whats went wrong, im guessing it couldnt be this bad since others have it too and there happy with it, hardly anyone complaining of bad battery life
I have the same issue and followed all the instructions including the battery drain threads.
I also get random crashes where the phone goes to the black HTC quietly brilliant boot screen and then just loops. Need to do a battery pull to recover.
Any ideas why it does this.
I really like the ROM and Sense 3.5 but the crashes and massive battery use when doing things are an issue. Don't want to go back to Revolution HD ROM as its on Sense 3.0.
Any help / advice most welcome.

Not possible that you followed all the steps provided in battery guides and you still get battery drains. It is possible that there can be your radio which is draining the battery (draining doesn't mean battery going down by 10% every hour or so).
I would say that you look at the apps running, if you're getting constant crashes then that means you didn't do full wipe and wiped dalvic cache/cache when changing roms...
here is another guide to check whether you're getting battery drains and some tops on how to increase battery life. There's another thread similar to this one which is good as well. Tell you what, do what i told you about doing full wipe, erase dalvic cache + cache and then try to do a fresh install of whatever rom you're using. Also search for how to flash radio and get the latest radio. That SHOULD sold your issues. If it still doesn't then you'll have to get a bigger battery

I had try the metod of pluging in and off the charger and cleaning the battery data but i didnt work. I deactivate widgets and everythig but battery still draining iys another metod that i can use to recalibrate my battery? Thanks, i already read all prior post
Have you checked to see if anything is constantly syncing? Checked your partial wake usage? What about monitoring in System Panel?
Are you from Glenview, Illinois? I grew up there, live in Northbrook now.
Well i guess is not another way to solve this
Oh cool man and yeah all the sync its off and all the other stuff i just start having this issue after install the new king kernel ( bad idea ).

way to give up buddy.
a billion people have an htc evo who at one time had battery issues and fixed them, but there is absolutely NO way to solve YOUR battery problem.
There are a ton of variables as to why your battery drains. What rom are you running, if any custom rom at all? Kernel? Theme? Whats your screen brightness setting, or your screen off time? Do you watch a lot of movies? Are you on the internet all day? Is your GPS on or off? Is your blue-tooth on or off? How much time do you spend on facebook? how much time on Twitter? How far are you away from a tower? How strong of a signal do you have? etc etc ETC
Edit: Ok cool, well can you flash back to your previous kernel and see if things get better again?
hmm... have you tried flashing back to your last known good config? Did you do a nandroid before flashing the kernel? What kernel were you using before that was working? Have you tried flashing that one?
Yes i did all my reading before posting im using the stock rom, with the stock kernel now. I did not jave this issue before my battery was perfect until i flash the king kernel and yes i use a back up and flash it but i did not work
I just wanna know if its another metod to recalibrate the battery besides just pluging in and pluging off the cellphone
I just wanna know if its another metod of recalibrate the battery besides pluging in and pluging off the cellphone
You can wipe your battery stats in recovery, but I don't think that will help TBQH.
If something is draining your battery you need to do some detective work to figure out what is doing it. My first post in this thread suggests a couple things to start with.
Yes friend i did that already mmm i guess im gonna try with another battery to see what happened
Your problem is in kings kernel, i know he was working on it not sure if he has solved it, try the cfs 10 one.

That was his new release isnt? Thats the one i used and screw everythig :-(
Try reflashing it, maybe it will work then? How long ago did you flash to this new kernel?
Maybe you could give it a couple charging cycles just to be sure. Work with it for a week or so, letting the battery charge down, and then charging it back up again a couple times.
thanks for the tip im gonna do this but with the stock kernel i seems today it last a lil longer i was sufing, texting, even playing and making calls and it last me 7 hrs with out charging. i uninstall sport tap though i read something about that app that use to much conection
try this

i am pretty sure is problem is flashing a custom kernel with a stock rom, other way round (stock kernel with custom rom) probably fine, but i am getting off point, i have never been able to get my battery to reset properly, but on my phone its just a minor annoyance. the only way i have found that comes close
first of all i would really suggest you switch to amon ra if your not already useing it
(also you must do all this in one recovery booting so make sure you have good battery/ phone plugged in)
1. wipe battery data (again the same way you did)
2. factory reset phone wipe data davilik all that then do the battery again
3. flash http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo.../font></div>&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13176886532531
this will wipe your phone
4. flash http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...en_Lightning&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13176887115882
this is your new rom, and kernel, its all in one. it should fix any battery problems because superwipe will destroy extremely completely anything on your phone,
PS. if you want to keep your contacts and applications, before you do anything above, go to the market and download my backup root and make backups of your contacts and applications, then when you do it all download it again from the market and bam you got all ur stuff

After I installed MIUI-au 0.12.111 R2(first time installing it) I Got really bad Battery life. With the stock rom on my HTC Desire I would go 3 days before charging it(light use), now i can only get 1 day, I have looked around and did everything I could find, I reset the battery stats. made sure I let it die and charged it up fully a few times. I have tried the new version of the Radio and RIL. I have tried setcpu and I can only get 1 day with it. I love miui but I can not keep it with such bad battery life. am I expecting too much from it? or is there something i am missing/ can try?
Thanks
Anyone else have this problem? IT seems to be wasting. Battery while idle

What version of the Radio and RIL are you using?
Not flashed RIL as the matching RIL for the recommended Radio (5.09.05.30) is already in the MIUI ROM, stock out of the box.So yes, I am currently using radio 5.09.05.30 (MIUI recommended) which has given me excellent battery life, even with FroYo roms. I have not experienced any Wi-Fi issues either.
EDIT: The information in this link may also interest you as it talks about different radio versions and associated RIL, and the effect they can have on battery life especially: http://www.miui-au.com/faq/radios-radios-radios/
Hope this helps you out.
Thanks I will try downgrading my radio and see what happens.
To further save battery life, i.e. when idle at night, you can also try enabling Airplane mode at night and disable in the morning. There are apps in the marketplace that can do this for you automatically between set periods so you don't have to bother doing it manually.

Thanks for the help, but it still had very poor life about 6% per hr idle so I went back to the stock rom. Is it possible to install app2sd+ on the stock Rom or can you recommend a close to stock Rom with that and maybe a few other small changes?

hi guys
i have tried various methods and i am using a new battery on rcmix3d on leedroid's kernel.
BT,WIFI is off. Data is on 3g 24 hours.
My battery drains 1% every minute when data is on even though its not polling for any syncing or data.
my sync is set to once a day for emails and manual for the rest.
i have also done a battery calibration and still no joy.
any tips?
Download current widget, and set it to log your current drain while idling. Sense rom should be around 1ma-3ma idle.
thanks..
actually my its ard 1ma to 4ma idle.
this is when juicedefender disables the data.
but the moment data kicks in, its spikes to a max of 280ma and the battery starts draining. i can actually see it dropping per minute. the moment data is off. everything is as per normal.
does 3g really consume that much of batt?
No it doesn't use that much at all. Did u do a full wipe with install of rcmix?
Do you have any apps installed that may drain battery. Try using a task killer to close all apps and see how it goes.
Just to be sure have u tried turning off mobile data and checking battery with it off. The maybe new radio may help

other than 2 camera apps, ebay, paypal, foursquare and facebook, i have nothing else.
and notifications has been turned off for all the above.
i tried task killers and they really didnt help much.
i did do a full wipe and battery does last way much longer with data off.
i'm also using the latest m2 radio and underclocked the cpu via setcpu
an advise on which radio would be better?
Go with the radio suggested in the thread for your rom. If none suggested just grab something different to what your using and try it out.
You shouldn't need to UV the CPU. Mine runs at 1.4 no problem. Let me know how I get on.

Just realised your using a new battery too. The have u tried your old one just incase its a battery problem.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
yeah..the old battery was replaced with a new one by HTC service centres.
i was just reading the radio thread and decided to flash the corresponding RIL for my radio.
i'll try that for a day and see how that works out.
thank you so much for your help and i'll keep you posted
you problem is radio related.
flash the suggested radio of your rom.
had the same problem a few days back. 150-250mA idle, when i deactivated my data connection, it went down zo 1-4mA again.

I had the same problem, 4 hours of sleep would sometimes see 20% disappear. New radio and kernel did the trick.

Keep in mind, cell reception is also a varible factors in regards to battery life, but with the situation as precribed it is more than likely to be radio/RIL selection. Also remember that the newest versions of radio and RIL may not always offer the best reception and/or battery efficiency, ideally use the one as recommended by the ROM/Kernel. You may also consider searching the forum for see the recommended versions of radio and RIL to match.
During new flashes of the ROM, under CWM, you can also delete battery stats which should allow a more accurate report of the battery.
Hope it helps.
thanks for all the info guys
i guess its probably a radio/ril issue.
i'm testing out various ones right now.
anyone using rcmix3d 2.0 got a recommendation for radio/ril combo?

Download Android System Info from the Market. Look out for anything that is using an excessive amount of processing power.
After that, you can see if it is the radio.

hi there
i will try the telus radio soon after trying out the one recommended by the rom dev.
what am i supposed to be looking for in android system info?
batt stats bring me to the default batt stats that is in the android system
Hello all. I just upgraded my HTC Merge from froyo 2.2 to gingerbread 2.3.4. I like how the new rom works, and feels and its features. But on froyo I would unplug before bed, with data off, wifi off, gps off, bluetooth off, and wake up with 99% battery life. I did a titanium backup before gingerbread. Updated with HTC Sync and used titanium backup to restore all my settings. Now when I wake up I have 37% battery!!!!
Going from 1% battery loss in 7 hours, to 70% battery loss in 7 hours is completely ridiculous. I have one a partition cache wipe, battery stat wipe and the like. I have not changed any settings. The phone is not in use over night. The stats show that android OS and system idle are both using 40% of my batter a piece. Any ideas? Could it be a bad install? Some say their battery life is better, how can mine be so much worse? I've tried most of what I've read from the thousands of other users with the same problem. I am rooted, but don't know of any custom roms or kernels for the Merge. I have a few more things to try, but just wanted to see what you guys all thought.
Thanks for the responses guys, I appreciate it.
Yea I had a similar issue that was fixed, for the most part, by changing the kernel. I guess you should try to find one custom for the Merge? Never heard of that model..
Hey guys,
my Endeavoru PVT (Tegra3 International) is now about one and a half year old, I can't remember how it was in the beginning, but now my battery drain is too heavy in my opinion.
At first I had AHRD, then I switched between some ROMs but now I am stuck at CyanogenMod 10.1.3 because as time went by, I started to hate Sense and I love the standard Android look. The thing is, since I switched from OrDroid to CM 10.2 or better said from Android 4.1 to 4.2+, the drain got heavy.
I removed all wakelocks, I use XM-Kernel with Smartmax+Row and limited the CPU freq, I turned off sync, gps and I only use 3G if I need the speed.
I mostly use whatsapp and rarely browse the internet with my phone, when I wake up at 7:00 AM I disconnect it from the charging cable, then I go to work etc. and at about 9:00 PM the battery only has 20-30% left and the average screen on time is maximum 2 hours overall and that's clearly not ok...
As I already said, I removed all wakelocks, the only wakelocks come from the kernel when the screen is active. So please do not link the ultimate battery life thread or something like that... I have no wakelocks and my settings are ok.
And when I start gaming, the battery drains 1% per minute which is insane! So I can't play any games at all.
With OrDroid and XM-Kernel I had the best battery life and almost no bugs.
Today I wanted to install Skydragon 2.0, but it was pretty buggy. So I switched to AHRD but with the XM-Kernel (17 beta for Sense5) my computer didn't detect the One X, I switched back to Stock Kernel, then it got recognized but the files were all displayed like a mess and I couln't copy any files onto the One X. Then I was pissed and restored my CM 10.1.3 backup... Is there any way to fix this??? Please no mass storage mods, these are not stable and don't work sometimes..
A few days ago I bought a One X+ battery, it should arrive next week. Maybe the battery is broken, but that doesn't explain why it drains so fkng much battery when I start to play games! And it doesn't fix my problems with Skydragon or AHRD. I would love to stay at CM, but there are the common issues which force me to switch to a sense rom.
I will probably switch back to OrDroid with XM-Kernel when the new battery arrives, hopefully it will fix the heavy drain. Can someone explain what could cause this massive drain? I mean, a phone should last at least 24 hours not 14...
Or is there any fully working AOSP rom with Android 4.1 for the One X? So I could benefit from the battery life and the look of Android 4.1.
Did you try erasing your sd card? Corrupt files might cause heavy media drain on aosp without showing wakelocks. I would recommend trying a sense 5 Rom, get a custom kernel and set it to smartmax and row like you are used to. If that doesn't work, replacing the battery is your last call. Good luck!
Go for a full wipe of your device & SD card first than try installing anew sense 5 rom and see whether the issue still persists?

Stop being rude to someone trying to help you. Yes I did read your post obviously. You didn't state if you wiped your sd card. So what do you expect from the community if you figured it out all by yourself? If it's not the software it's the hardware, replace the battery.

I didn't meant the part with the sd card, I meant the sentence were you said I should try a sense rom, which I already tried as I stated.
I'm sorry if you interpreted my post as an insult.
Edit: Ok I fixed the USB problem, I installed the newest HBoot and used lyapotas Kernel, now it works without problems. Now I'm going to fix all wakelocks and wait for my new battery.
I removed all wakelocks now and I got about one hour more since then, but at some times the drain is heavyer, I tried to backtrace the drain with GSAM and BBS (root) but there are no Problems with wakelocks. The battery drained from one minute to the other from 72 to 78, I don't know if the stats didn't refresh correctly, but I am now pretty sure it's the battery.
Okay, my battery arrived. I replaced it and besides I fixed my Wi-Fi with a piece of aluminium foil. The drain on the first start was heavy, but I think it has to undergo some full charges to calibrate.
But I have one more problem.. I'm on ARHD 33.1 with lyapotas LM kernel (XM beta didn't work very well), but I can't undervolt with SetCPU (paid for root version). Every time I want to save the undervolt settings SetCPU itself crashes and I don't really want to use TricksterMod for undervolting.
Is it because of lyapotas kernel?
I already reinstalled SetCPU two times..
Update: Wow, I never had 78% battery left after work! I guess it was my battery that was broken, so the thread can be closed.
