OK guys..
Need some tips for selecting which case I should get for my GN. I want my phone to be as sleek as possible with the case on. Using stock battery.
Now, not many shops are stocking accessories yet for the GN. So I have to give eBay a go this time around.
I have shortlisted these two cases:
BLACK GEL S Line TPU Hybrid Cover Case Skin for SAMSUNG GALAXY NEXUS I9250
Black Soft S TPU Silicone Case Cover Skin for Samsung i9250 Galaxy Nexus
Is there any difference between the above two cases ? They have the same pictures and description. Just the title is different. :/
How are the above cases different from the Diztronic mentioned below ?
Diztronic Samsung Galaxy Nexus Matte Back TPU Case Gel Cover & Screen Protector
Thanks
Im rocking the black and clear Andy from site listed below. Do understand any case will add some bulk but this one is very little. Also adds nice protection to the front in case you drop it to protect the screen from cracking.....it doesnt have the volume keys cut out but it doesnt bother me....plus its not rubber so no lint being stuck
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=me=A1OK9R8S7S5URY&field-keywords=galaxy+nexus&x=0&y=0
Also, he said he has a new case coming out that I will def be checking out once it comes out. You can see a preview here

I have one of those first one, the S TPU case and I think it is a perfect case. The added grip at the sides make it very comfortable to hold without fear of dropping it. Go for it

Hello all,
As i'm sure some of you have been trying to find a case that fits the 2000mah kit from Samsung and having a lot of trouble? well being a case whore i'm building a collective list of cases which do or do not fit, if you have any info please PM me and i'll add your results to the list, please PM fitting and non fitting cases, but please CTRL+F and search for the case your going to PM me incase it's already on the list. without further ado;

[EEB-U20BBUG] Samsung S2 Power Pack (Cannot align usb connector without damage)
[EF-GS2L] Samsung Moulded Leather Flip Case (clips cannot stretch to phone body due to moulded back)
Some pics would be realy realy nice, so everybody could see how it fits and if they could get used to it.
EDIT: Also you can add the SGP Neo Hybrid and SGP Neo Hybrid EX to the list. First one has a loose are around the camera (as seen in another thread) and the other one fits nicely.
I would put some pictures up but I don't own all of them, and a few I've checked out in Retail stores, however If I buy any that fit, i'll make sure I post up photos of the fit.
Then just put the pictures in you own. Some others who have the extended battery and a case could send you their pictures and you could implement them into your post.
When I get my S2, 2000 mAh battery and decided for a case i will do some pictures for you, too.
PS: You could link every name of the cases to their official pages, too.
Here are some:
SGP Neo Hybrid EX: sgpstore.com/cell-phone/samsung/galaxy-s2/sgp-samsung-galaxy-s2-case-neo-hybrid-ex-series.html
SGP Neo Hybrid: sgpstore.com/cell-phone/samsung/galaxy-s2/sgp-samsung-galaxy-s2-case-neo-hybrid-series.html

Case-Mate Barely There: case-mate.com/Samsung-Galaxy-S-II-Cases/Case-Mate-Samsung-Galaxy-S-II-Barely-There-Cases.asp
Hope I can help improving your thread I think your thread can help very many people.
Would love to know about the Otterbox Commuter compatibility.

Hi all!
Yes, as most soft cases the Graphix fits, but you'll see some looseness in the camera section. Also, I did not like the grip of this case at all, it felt slippery imo.
I went for the Neon hybrid instead, very satisfied.
How tight is the fit on the Case Mate Tough case with the 2000mah battery? I like the look of it and just placed an order for it. Is it so tight that there's a risk of damaging the phone?
Zenus Skin Air Jacket
Just got the new battery and put it in my Zenus Skin Air Jacket... dont know what to say... sadly it doesnt fit... but its useable.
The edge of the phone comes out a bit and therefore the access to the volume and powerbutton is limited.
I made some photos but cant post the links due lack of postcount
The Walnutt bumper fits for sure, but hell, it it even fits my Momax 2700mah Expower batts, so that's a moot point.
I am within the M25 and have an otterbox for my S2 if you need to try it then pm me.
what is the sense of using a bumper of a sgp neo hybrid ?
i mean, isnt the purpose of a case to cover the whole phone? both the examples above mentioned appear to just cover the borders of the phone, leaving uncovered the whole back of it.
actually sgp neo hybrid series sounds just like a overpriced bumper.
anyone, can prove the opposite?
actually i am very interested in this because it looks like there is no real hard non/bumper case fitting with the new battery: and the only (crappy) solutions appear to be either bumpers or gum/rubber cases ...

IT fits but the rubber part is under a small amount of pressure, pushing the phone out of the hard plastic casing. it is MINIMAL, if your like me and fiddle with your phone all the time, it is just a case of pushing it with the lightest touch back in.
It won't damage the phone unless your trying the impossible (pushing the phone into the bottom cutout.) and pushing so hard you crack the hard plastic shell in otherwords impossible. the ideal would be to cut the rubber out in the shape of the battery lid compartment. on the rubber part, then assembling with the hard casing. so you remove the tension off the added thickness.
if I have a hybrid neo spg .... and put the battery without the back cover ... only with the case spg ... looks good? or can cause problems? (Sorry for my English)

Cool. Thanks for the detailed description. I hate to mangle new case, but I may have to do that. Wonder if cutting out the battery compartment rubber part may reduce shock resistance of the case.
Can anyone tell me if it will fit in the Samsung Leather Pouch?
If not are there any other 'pouch' style cases that will?
thanks
Hi, i'm searching for a SLIM case, but unlike the Barely There from Case-mate i want it to fully cover the phone.
Is there any around them? my research got no results
i have a ringke slim case on mine right now. fits the oem extended battery, its a pretty nice case and very slim

It does not cover the phone
try the sgp neo hybrid, its the thinnest dual layer case ive seen. i cut out the backing now so i use it as a bumber case.
hey im like you. i love the barely there case but i also had a problem with it offering just partial protection.
i ended up with the sgp ultra hybrid case. and i couldnt be happier. very slim. very well built. the only thing it doesnt cover is the screen. doesnt add much bulk.
i also have the sgp ultra capsule.. its just too shiny looking for me.
Diztronic Matte
I like the Diztronic Matte Back Black Flexible *Revision 3* TPU Case.
$9.89 on Amazon, thin and covers phone

Just got the alpine white ringke slim case. Best case I have come across. Looks amazing!

I recommend either one of these. The Ultra Hybrid may look thick, but it's actually thinner than the Cruzer Lite one as much to my surprise.
Ultry Hybrid:

Cruzer Lite:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH8TPxSFt6w&list=UUbfFMjyhflN4xFOFEmPj-wg&index=6&feature=plcp
I like the cruzer lite, it adds a thick enough "lip" over the face of the phone that setting it down doesn't allow your screen to contact the surface you set it on. Plus it's only $9.

I also have this case and I really like it. It's matte, though, so it's not exactly grippy, if you're looking for that.
thinnest and uber cheap case
Hi there,
I'm not quite sure how thin you would like your case to be, but I recently discovered a couple of cases on ebay that may fit your description.
LINK: I'm sorry, I am a relatively new user on XDA and I can't post link just yet. However, you can ebay a seller called "smokydiscount" and keywords: 0.2mm Ultra thin case for galaxy nexus prime. Otherwise, just PM me.
MY OPINION: I really like these cases and they're great for scratch protection. As for drops and bumps, these cases are negligible; your phone will probably be just as damaged as compared to without a case.
PROS:
- Incredibly thin. It's as if your phone doesn't have a case on it
- WILL protect the back from any scratches. You can leave your phone on a rough surface without any concerns
- Very cheap
CONS:
- There is no front lip, meaning if you put your phone face down on a rough surface, beware. However, the case does come with a screen protector which is fairly decent (ALMOST to the same standard as Brando screen protectors)
- For some reason it does make the phone more slippery. The plastic doesn't provide any grip
- The case is very fragile when it is not applied on your phone. I had to get a replacement sent out because the case came to my house cracked, most probably due to the postage and handling.
Despite the cons, this is definitely one of my favourite cases. Check them out.
TPU rubber case with stand on amazon only 3 bucks and it covers everything , just need a screen protector

Correct. The RingKe Slim is the best thin white case you will find for the Galaxy Nexus. Also, it fits the extended battery.

I would strongly advise you against rearthe. I used it on mine, I got the metallic 1, the paint started coming out in 3-4 months, it developed cracks in 7-8 months, n the best thing of all, because its such a tight fitting case, it scratched up all the sides of my phone housing. Get a tpu. Best white 1 that I use is mercury tpu. Or get a cheap white hard case from ebay. Also, search in aliexpress for white hard cases, lot of really good ones, I dont like hard cases anymore, hard to take off.

I'd have to agree on this one. I too had the Ringke Rearth, same problems as above (minus the paint chipping off - mine was glossy white). A white TPU case is your best best - cheap, flexible, and easy to take on/off.
hey all
does anybody know about ultra thin cases besides of Spingen?
Thanks!
There's also the Ringke Slim case, aside from that though, no idea.
Ive got a Ringke slim on the way
Ordered the diztronic. It was my favorite on n4. We will see how it is on the nexus 5. I like that it surrounds the edges all around compared to some other brands.

I'll give that a try.
What I don't like about Spigen and Ringke is that both does not completely cover the top and bottom of the phone.

Just received my Ringke Slim case. Thinnest case I have seen yet. I always bought Diztronic TPU cases in the past but want something that did not add any bulk and kept the look of the device but still offered some protection.
I took some pictures of the case next to my Nexus 4 Diztronic case. My phone is being delivered today so I will add some pics later with the phone it it. This case is thin! I will have to see what I think about it not covering the top and bottom but sonce the corners will be ptotected it should be just fine.

I got ringke too looks great long wait to uk though.
I just went ultra-cheap ass way with thin case.
QuickSand Matte Hard Skin Cover Case
Then again, last 5 of my phone cases have been "sand" cases, for better grip.
Are there any ultra-thin cases that protects the top and bottom (I mostly just want a all around color case instead of missing top and bottom)? I don't need drop protection but only a shell so as thin as possible would be awesome.
Got it along w/ 2 other Spigen cases and like this one the most, slimply because it allows me to plug in a headphone plug and the top and bottom does not have a lip that will trap pocket lint.
Only downside(s) is that it's smooth surface doesn't give you that confident feeling you would have like you would w/ the rubberized surface. It's a tight fit and I worry if I take it off and on that it could damage the volume and power button.
Anybody have an idea of one like this but is rubberized? I don't want anything with funky graphics or designs, just simple plain
I'm also looking for something with a rubberized texture. I got the Ringke Slim case and it has such a feathery smooth finish that I'm constantly worrying about the phone slipping out of my pocket. It's even difficult to get a decent grip if my hands are the least bit dry (which is all the time in the winter). I'd love to find a nice soft TPU case that is slim and slightly rubbery. The SGP Ultra Capsule on my old GS2 was perfect! Anything like that for the N5?

Hey.
I'm going skiing in a few weeks and I want a case that is going to protect my phone really well, especially the screen. Spigen have the Slim Armour View (http://www.spigen.com/galaxy-s4-case-slim-armor-view.html) for the Galaxy S4 which is exactly what I'm looking for. Unfortunately, the Slim Armour for the Nexus 5 doesn't have the part that flips over to protect the screen. Does any one know of anything similar for the Nexus 5?

I did the rugged case search for the Nexus 5 as well and ended up with the Ballistic SG Maxx. It has good protection, comes with a rigid screen protector that you can put on or off, and has the holster that I don't use to clip to my belt, but to act as a complete face shield for the phone. It isn't my favorite case in the world, but it protects the hell out of the phone and it is only $25 on amazon now. I would love it if the N5 had a case like the one you linked to above, that is really nice.
