Nandroid Files? - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I was wondering if there was a way to get Nandroid files for a restore. My stupid phone decided to s-off while installing Runnymede and now it's stuck in recovery. I've tried the sticky and it just sucks. I have to create a goldcard and then there's this other thing I need to do...ugh!
Can anyone give me a Nandroid restore file? It's for a UK Bravo, (Desire), HG3 phone. It doesn't need to be HG3 since it's unbranded and it was just the ROM which shipped with the phone when Three Network gave it to me as a "yay! You chose us over T-Mobile, what phone do you want?" present.
Thanks.

Didn't you make a nandroid back up before flashing another rom?

Every phone is different. So I am pretty sure our backups won't work for you.

Have you tried and tested it before? I would love to know if someone has got it to work.

Nandroid and radio

If I do a nandroid restore will that restore my radio as well?
I want to say yes. Because I think a nandroid is basically a complete copy of the current state of your phone at the time of backup. But you should probably wait for confirmation on that
Nope, sorry.
Thanks for the replies guys

Dude there just messin with you. It will restore your phone back to EXACTLY the way you had it. All though, I'm pretty sure once you upgrade your radio, it's a real pain in the rear to go backwards.
Edit: Or is that software version?
Infact I just did one, and mine is still 2.05xxxxx

my pleasure I found it yesterday as well
Beside good job
Thank you
Guys,
Hope I'm not hijacking this, seems the original OP query has been answered. I'm in the same boat, DHD speaker has died for no apparent reason. I've flashed various ROMs in the hope sound starts working again (and it did, for about 5 minutes, then disappeared again)...
So, I'm going to have to send it back to 3 for repair. Based on my initial experience with 3 CS, I don't want to give them ANY excuse to not repair the phone. So, I've flashed various versions of "Stock roms", latest being the one you mentioned in this threed.
They all work, but the radio version seems to not get downgraded, I still have 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.15_M3, I *THINK* this is a much more recent radio (reccommneded for CoreDroid 3.0 I think), and also, the kernel, doesn't seem to be the stock version.
Can anyone poiny me to the stock versions of the radio and the kernel, and where I could download them, please?.
Thanks.

[Q] Warranty question

Hi
I have a question before sending my HTC back for the wifi repair to HTC.
If I make a nandroid backup of my existing custom rom, then unroot the phone, when I reroot the phone once i get it back, can I simply use the nandroid backup I had made to restore everything once I have re-rooted?
Thanks
Manny

Yep, ofcourse you can.
To be honest you need to re-lock your bootloader also.
And hopefully your lucky enough to be one of the people that gets a warranty fix even though your unlocked and rooted.
As many people get turned away.

Ok, thanks, its worth a try
I made a nandroid backup of my stock rom and also have the boot.img for the stock rom. I assume that if I flash these 2 first and then lock the bootloader? Is that correct?
if it is correct - is it simple to lock the bootloader?

Hi, yeah thats correct mate.
Easiest way is to flash the correct RUU for you phone. Im sorry but I don't know how to get the correct RUU perhaps someone else could help.
What I do know is that you can never fully "lock" the bootloader again, it will say "Re-Locked" and not "Locked" all you can do is hope they do not check the bootloader.
Hope this helps

If they check it and see it says relocked and then refuse to repair it is the same as me leaving it unlocked?? So i may as well leave it as it is?
Thanks

TO be honest yeah, your right you may as well leave it as unlocked.
But definately return it to stock as much as poss, using the RUU or flashing the stock images etc.
Hope this helps

Definately, if they boot the phone and see CWM, TWRP, Titanium, SuperSU/SuperUSer they'll know straight away you are rooted.
Remove anything you possibly can that will identify a rooted unit.

Using their repair tracking page, the current status is "in repair" so it's looking good. The status just changed an hour ago though so there's still plenty of time for them to call with bad news.

Warranty VOID?
I needed to send my phone in, but I don't have the sticker on the back, or the box, and there's no way for me to get to the settings on the phone, because the screen stopped working.
Will HTC still be able to service my phone, or is the warranty considered void?

HTC repair is bull**** just for the record. I have 4G Slides on the rest of my lines, ALL of which had to be sent in.
2 of those phones took nearly 45 [FORTY FIVE] days to get back to me. Apparently there was a hold for parts coming in from Taiwan. They wouldn't tell me which parts. They wouldn't even give me an estimate time. HTC didn't apologize or update me on my repair. I found all this out after numerous calls day after day.
But if you thought that was bad service, you'll love this...
The third phone was sent out and came back fairly quickly. Within a week. I was so happy to get my phone back.
Opened the box and GUESS WHAT?
HTC SENT ME THE WRONG PHONE
They sent me a completely different phone for a different carrier (HTC Evo 4G for Sprint). It was very beat up as well.
I swear, if it wasn't for their designs (which I love dearly) I would've dropped the company by now...
Sorry for the rant/threadjack. Thought you guys would like to hear a horror story. I'm done
does anyone know how to remove the super su app and the clockwork recovery? everything else is now back to stock as i did a nandroid back up immediately after rooting initially
thanks

Since your s-off it dosent really matter. With s-off rooting is as easy as flashing cwm thru hboot, and then superuser thru recovery.

Well not even the latest ota is 100% stable, it even has the 2am bootloop issue. However in my opinion any stock or stock based rom is going to be the most stable. I feel stock 4.06.605.2 rooted with the ota notifications stopped is the stablest you can get. But I'm sure ten other people would have 10 different opinions.

[Q] I have a VANILLA Nexus 7. Does anyone need a system dump?

Hey guys. It just came in the mail. its completely stock and unrooted. Im going to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP.
I notice that ALL the stock dumps on the forums are PRE-ROOTED. I was thinking about making a dump, or would that not make a difference?
Please let me know if I should do it. Im a noob at this. how would I do it?
Is it needed?
---
I do know that the official images may or may not be released by google
I was thinking of making a Nanroid backup and posting it. I can install TWRP without rooting. I know how.

Is this before or after the update? to test some bugs to check if it is hardware or software issues people have been looking for the very original stock image. NOT JSS15J
So, I unlocked the bootloader, & I let it boot up. However, it didn't ever get past the logo. So I got stuck in a boot loop.
Now I have to restore via ATG method. And yess. This was before the Update.
Sorry guys. I tried..
