Hi folks,
I play music in my car via an aux cable. The sound is great. However, if I run my sat. nav. app. (copilot 8) at the same time, the directions from the app. seem to be coming from the phone's speaker rather than from the radio speaker. It is almost impossible to hear the instructions.
Most people here are smarter than me. Do any of you know why the sound won't come from my radio? I have turned the sound on copilot up full, btw.
thanks a lot.
Bump? Anybody?

The stereo deck in my car has a USB port that I use with my 8 gig microdrive to store music on. My question is, why not be able to plug the 8525 into it and run audio and video through the car stereo?
Does anyone know of any software that would allow that?
Wouldn't WM5torage work for that?
I use it in the car, but I get terrible noise interference when the phone is transmitting internet stuff. It's almost unusable.
I'm using an FM transmitter though. Any ideas.... sorry if I'm hijacking your post.
Chris
why not just buy one of these and one of these?
That's my method of car audio
i hacked my OEM wired headset to have a 1/8" male miniplug, and a pair of RCA connectors.. plugs right into my aftermarket headunit.
wm5storage is what you need. Makes your phone look like a flash drive. You will have to disable advanced network functionality for it to work: Settings\Connections\Usb to PC

I don't have a USB or tape deck in my car. With the FM transmitter and the tape adapter in my other car, I still get noise when playing streaming music from SelectRadio (XM,Sirius streams) & incoming calls. The noise is like when I put my phone near unshielded speakers. I had the same problem w/my wizard. Any ideas?

I remember using FM transmitters before they started becoming popular- used it for about a month and just got fed up with all the interference. Best way to go is a hard wired solutions as other posters suggested.
Most modern stereos come with an 'AUX IN'. A2DP is also becoming a feature on higher end stereos- not sure how well it streams the music though.

I use a JVC KD-BT1 headunit in my car which supports bluetooth audio. With the JVC I can sync my phone and make phone calls through the stereo and I can also play all the audio from the phone over the bluetooth as well as control Windows Media Player. It makes for a VERY convienient and easy setup to use once configured. Also the sound quality is amazing. I was surprised that I was listening to music from my phone as it sounded like I was listening to it right off of a CD.
Now that I've moved on to the AT&T Tilt/8925/Kaiser everything still works exactly the same. The headunit even pulls up my phonebook and can make calls via voice dialing or voice command built into the phone.
Sorry to sound like an ad but I really love my setup. If you have any questions I'd be glad to answer them... or even snap a pic of the install I did in my car if you'd like to see that. Now... of course this whole post won't mean much to you if you don't want to change out your factory headunit...
Im looking at getting one of these
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/16478.htm
But only if it supports FM transmission of audio from BT stereo.
Does anyone know if it does?
it works with my touch elfin perfectly just make sure you press and hold the button till it flash up with the pair sign or it will just do phone calls

is it possible to use this just to stream music and not as a handsfree?
i.e.
pda -> stereo music via bluetooth -> airtune -> fm to car stereo?
can i also still have my pda paired to my parrot car kit for calls and gps, whilst playing music to car stereo?

not a bad idea, i absolutely hate my parrot kit! but i use it for gps, shame this isnt avaliable with gps other wise i would all over it.
it is a shame about the gps for that i have a holox 54 got off ebay lives in the glove box and i use tomom 6
Bought this last night and it is totally excellent and exactly what I wanted.
It works great with voice command, audio sounds good, voice calls are clear.
All in all a great bit of kit.

What do you mean you use it with GPS? Im confused...
Im guessing you could just pair for stereo audio and not hands free to achieve just music streaming?
Hi,
I live in a major city, Los Angeles, and usually these FM transmitters do not work in major city due to interference.
anyone have any experience with this one? Maybe in NYC, london, or paris?
Works fine for me in West London.
The force is strong in this one...
Can I pair it with more than one phone ?
Hi,
Guess I'm asking a lot for a relatively (very?) cheap peice of kit but can I pair my wife and my phone with it at the same time, we swap cars alot and it would make life much easier.
Thanks, W
Hi Guys,
I'm hoping this hasn't been discussed - I've searched and didn't find anything for Desire... (I've even googled it and still not found anything understandable)...
I'm using Co Pilot on my Desire, loving it, but I'm trying to get the audio instructions from the sat nav to be routed to the bluetooth kit in the car - it's the standard bluetooth handsfree that comes with Nissan cars... (not sure if that helps?)
I found something about an app called BlueAnt, but I can't find this on the Android Market
Is there any way of doing this?
Thanks in advance!!
I don't have an answer on how but I did watch a video of someone showing the desire working with audio in his car and that certainly played through his stereo. I think he had a golf. I'm almost 100% sure he took a call too and showed some sort of sat nav....
I'll look for it....
This might be software specific. Google navigation plays through Bluetooth but when I tried navigon it came from the phone. is there something in the settings?

Copilot8 works with bluetooth audio but not very well.
On my bluetooth radio I miss 1-2 seconds of audio from the beginning of each driving instruction.
Bluetooth media audio needs to be connected before starting Copilot for this to work.
Just wondering whether anyone else has connected their phone (I have a HD7) to a car kit or similar?
Here's my experience with Parrot Mki9100.
Using the parrot controls:
Most things work. Play and pause work, voice control works either by syncing your contacts to the parrot or by not syncing and then using the phones voice control.
For some reason if you pause the music you cant press play on the parrot kit again, you have to go back into the phone to press play.
Forward and back for tracks works, the skip forward and back doesnt.
Of course you can control from the phone however you want. I'm sad that the promised voice control of the zune interface didnt come through.
But the biggest problem is a slight crackle with the music. It's not a massive problem and I've not used any other devices so it might be that I'm expecting too much of bluetooth a2dp and i'm happy using it like this. But at certain types during songs which have lots of guitar going on you get a crackle.
I was trying to work out if it was the phone or parrot, so i've connected my phone to my laptop, playing music now and the same lovely crackle. Anyone else experienced the same?
Thanks and hope this was helpful to someone
I just connected mine to my car for A2DP as well (Samsung Focus). It streams music fine but my play/pause/skip controls don't work (they did on my WM 6.1 device). I also have the same issue of having to use the phone to resume after a call.
I get the slight distortion as well at HF (just from tweeters). I believe this is b/c A2DP includes compression in the protocol (its not full 20-20k bandwidth). Its only on a few songs for me and something I can live with.
I am experiencing the same thing. However, the bluetooth stack on wp7 is way...way better and works with parrot better than any of the previous wm versions.
I am synced to a Plantronics stereo bluetooth headset, get into my car and plug my aux cable into my phone to swap my audio over to my car. My old Atrix would automagically swap over the headphone audio out, yet leave my voice synched for taking calls. So far I have not found a way to do that on the xperia play, so I am hoping you guys might have some pointers. The audio continues to play through the headset, and not aux cable. I know I can go into settings and kill the media pairing, but honestly, that is a pain due to synching issues.
I looked at Tasker, and there is a way to kill voice, but not the media portion of bluetooth. Has anyone ran into this issue, or know if an app/workaround?
Thanks!

hmm have you tried Google it? I bet that there is a mod, setting or app for it somewhere.

Yeah, I google'd, forum searched, and just generally looked. No go. I was hoping someone on here might have run across this before. I guess I can just hope that Tasker adds a bluetooth media profile sometime soon.

Not going to be closed minded about that suggestion, and give a chance, but using Facebook Authentication? Really? I despise Facebook but I'll suck it up and give this a try. Thanks.
