and its just going to overwrite it with all my app's no need for backups or titanium app backups or calkulins format all!?????
Yes it will keep apps intact and it will also wipe what's necessary on its own. Make sure you make a nandroid though incase there are some issues.

Ok man I've been helpful up until now but you seriously need to look at the wikis for our device and google what a nandroid backup is. I learned all of the terms and stuff by myself. We here at XDA are happy to help but not spoon feed information. However, a nandroid is a backup you make in cwm

Hey XDA! I need some help. I am trying to recover 3 Images that I really need. I backed up using clockworkmod backup, before I installed Darkside ICS. Is it possible to get those images from the nandroid backup?
just restore data from advance restore in CWM
Or just ask her to resend them

Question...im kinda new to flashing roms etc..im having a issue with backing up my roms...everytime i back one up and tey to go back to it it will not let me, i get a md5 error everytime..can some one please tell me what im doing wrong??
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Are you renaming the saved roms in a file manager? That can cause the md5 error. Second suggestion would be to do ur backups via recovery and skip doing it thru the app.
Sent from GalaxyS2 using xda premium
No, I have not renamed them at all. I save it and move on. I will try the other way and see. Its not a huge deal because i can re-flash it i just hate having to set it all back up..thanks ill try it.

check your storage memory
Backup in recovery skip the app it just causes more problems. I haven't used it in a couple years now.

For all my backups and restore, I'll reboot into recovery menu and complete it from there.

Is this normal?

Yes.
And when you restore a backup, go thru recovery just the same way as you did the backup.

This is probably a stupid question, but if I have a nandroid of CM10 and Blazer, can I switch between the two anytime by:
Wipe factory data reset
Wipe Cache/dalvik
Restore (CM10 or Blazer) nandroid
Or is there a better/safer way?
Thanks

Yep, good for updating PRL/Profile when going back to a TW rom.
So there will be no problems switching between AOSP and TW nandroIds?
I was reading elsewhere that the kernel can cause issues, is this true? (I was searching/reading through old topcís)
And I'm asking because I really would like to understand it, thanks!

Sorry for the noob question. I was wondering, if I rename my nandroid backups, will I still be able to restore them? When I had my Photon, I would get all the way to the end of restoring a Nandroid backup and it would fail. It did it for all my renamed backups. Just was wondering if it's the same for the GS3?

Should be AFAIK, linux just tends to stumble on spaces in file names if you don't escape them. I always follow the name scheme of ROMX.DATE so for cm10 I have CM10.8.31.2012, hope that helps.

Came across this app the other day named Online Nandroid Backup. It basically allows you to create a Nandroid backup without having to reboot into recovery. Tried it out and did everything as advertised. Anyone have any experience with this app?
I have not. Looks interesting though.

Thanks bro, thats why I posted it so other flashaholics could check it out too.
This is a nice program in theory, but last time I tried it I couldn't restore the backup, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of the program.
My question is what happens to the data once it enters the "cloud"? If there is data in the backup, it could be compromised methinks....

The back up is saved to your local storage, not a cloud. The "on-line" reference is to your phone being not in recovery...
