anyone have those to share impressions? they look decent, corners seems to be protected... but withpout hands-on-experience hard to say how well they fit, feel (bulky or not), how well top latch works, etc.
Thank you in advance

Thanks for spotting these. I ordered the Imak Count on 30 December and it arrived yesterday. Free shipping so only paid about £11 which is an absolute bargain. It's a nice simple design and feels really good to hold. No metal protrusions or crass branding, just a discrete Imak stamp on the rear. The fit is excellent and it's quite easy to insert and remove the GNote. The corners are reasonably well protected although the open sections may be slightly vulnerable. The latch works well, releases easily and keeps the inside face of the cover approx 1 - 2mm above the screen.
My Noreve case is going back as it has an adverse effect on the signal strength (actually quite a dramatic effect), whereas the Imak case seems to have minimal impact.

Thanks!
I am still waiting for mine but I guess it is already on my continent somewhere

I agree. If it cannot be fixed, it has to go back.

[Review] Seidio Innocase for Vibrant

So the first thing I noticed was that this is not a slider, but a front-and-back snap case. The product description says "Unique snap together design and opening slot makes putting on and removing your case easy" but for some reason thought it was a slider like the Surface II for the Captivate. So, it's not their fault I misunderstood.
Since the front bezel cover is so thin, my initial impression is that it seems a little flimsy. The back cover is also quite thin and has no lining like other Seidio cases. I think this was a conscious decision in order to keep the case as slim as possible. The fit is quite precise, so I don't think the lining would really make much difference as there is no movement within the case.
Although the front bezel piece seems flimsy at first, it feels quite sturdy once you snap it to the back cover. I do have some concerns the clips that snap together will wear down over time if you remove the cover frequently. Only time will tell on that point.
It has Seidio's "signature soft touch finish" which is like a somewhat rubberized matte texture. It's quite nice, but attracts prints if you have oily fingers.
Overall, the fit is pretty much perfect and the cutouts are precise. It's very thin and has a nice texture. Of the six cases I have, it's certainly the nicest. It does, however, cost about as much as the other five cases combined - $29.95.
At $19.95, I'd probably recommend it in a second. At $30 I have some reservations, namely the long term durability of the clasps that keep the two pieces together.
Vibrant case wont work
should be gettin mine tomorrow....
i think they have 6 month warranty which actually does work. thats another big plus with this company.

Good to know. Hopefully won't have to use it.
Thanks for the review.
I'm still sticking to my white mesh case. I like really light and almost-not-there type of cases.
Thanks for the review, mine should be here within a day or so.
I ordered using the coupon code XMAS15 that was posted here. Not certain it's still valid though as the poster said it may expire on the 19th.
To the OP, how does the phone feel in your hands compared to what you had previously?
Also, did your volume buttons ever rattle? This is my only hesitation as the silicone case from t-mobile prevents the rattles I have from the volume rocker (which is loose).

For reference, I've had TPU's, hybrid TPU/Plastic (the one with hard clear back), a generic version of the Barely-There, and a flexible plastic perforated case (XMatrix Cover from DayDeal).
The added size and weight is similar to the XMatrix perforated case. It's not as slim as the Barely-There style cases, but I think it's definitely lower profile than TPU or silicone.
The finish is nearly the same as the Barely-There knock off I have, but seems a little more durable (the coating on the old case started to come off within days). It's smooth, almost suede-like, but has a bit of tack when held in the hand. When put on a smooth surface, like a desk or on wood trim in a car, it does not stick at all. This is a bit of a negative for me. One thing I like about TPU cases is that they kind of stick when you lay them on a smoother surface (I usually put my phone on the wood trim next to the gear shift in my car) but are not tacky otherwise.
As for the volume buttons, mine are not loose so I can't really comment on that issue.
One other thing I've noticed in the last few days of using the case, is that bezel cover is attached to the bottom part in only a few spots so there is some give in the areas that aren't clipped together. I think they should have added a couple more contact points on each side. It's not terrible, but I'm a bit OCD so it probably bothers me more than it would most other people.
I'll report back, should be here anytime now.. thanks man.
Case is good, very slim and feels good in hand, not perfect like other Seidio products. Like the review states, the case is NOT slide-on which sucks. I dont know why they used clip-on design, with slide-on case could have been even slimmer and more durable. Fit is also nice, but also not perfect, phone is just a little loose in case, not noticeable right away until you play with it.

After waiting around for the SGP Slider, I was also hoping this would be a sliding case.
I did get to hold a Captivate with the Innocase II, which is a slider, and the fit was pretty awful. It moves around a ton compared to this front-back type. I guess I'll take this style and more precise fit over slider with a bad fit.
Is it the bump on the Vibrant that is the main issue with a slider?
I was a bit let down to find this was a snap on the front/back design.

it is nice and clean. my nexus one case fits better, but they probably had to make it clip-on design i guess for Vibrant bump
Nice review! I can't help but feel like Seidio threw this product together in a hurry, after they realized there are people with Vibrants. It just looks cheap compare to their other offerings.
Just got it. initial impressions:
1 feels great in the hand. Looks good too.
2 I absolutely hate how easy it un-snaps.
3 I want to know their return policy till they have a legit case like the ones I am accustomed too from seidio.
4 it's much more difficult to press power now.
EDIT: okay, found out how to do the return, just waiting to hear back from them.

[Q] Piel Frama iMagnum vs Noreve Tradition leather case for Galaxy Note

I'm looking for a premium leather case for my new Galaxy Note and so far the only two that I've found that meet the quality I'm looking for would be the Piel Frame iMagnum and the Noreve Tradition. Which do you think is the better of these two or is there another case you can recommend that's made of high quality leather?
http://www.noreve.com/langue/en/product/Samsung_Galaxy_Note_Tradition_leather_case.html
http://www.pielframa.com/samsung-galaxy-note-cases-imagnum.htm
It would be hard to take a picture using piel one as you need to hold top cover part
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
I also just purchased a Note and also looking for a case. I also am debating between the same two and am leaning towards the Noreve since it opens down. The cover opening from the top will get in the way more. Price is also better.
Piel frama has actually a problem with the magnetic closing mechanism. The s-pen is not working there. They are working on it, and will drop the magnetic thing.
Noreve delivers after 15-20 working days after purchase.
... tapat*lked
I'm waiting on the official brown leather flip case. It looks super.

That doesn't surprise me in retrospect. The wacom pen is magnetic.
I ordered the noreve. Another benefit is without the (maybe now gone) wraparound clip, it should be more pocketable.

I saw the brown leather one in a German Youtube video and thought it looked pretty nice but that is the only place I've seen it and I can't find it anywhere for pre-order. I only see the blue, white and black versions of the Samsung flip case.
TBH, I remember getting a Piel Frama leather case for a PDA once upon a time which looks just like the one they have for the Note. it was bulky, the belt clip was probably cool then but as the Note is so slim anyway I'd not see any reason to bulk it up even further with that design.
The official leather sleeve looks a better option to me. Currently using the flip cover and it's great, but if it turns out to be too bulky for a dock then a slim sleeve would be my next choice. A belt clip is so 2005 .
Yeah I'm not interested in using a belt clip regardless if the case I buy comes with one. I'm just wanting to find something that will protect the device but also is made from a high quality soft leather that feels like it somewhat coincides with the price of the Note.
It looks like Piel Frama has already updated the case to replace the magnetic closure with a snap judging by the new photos on their website.
I bought a pielframa magnum case in the past for my HTC HD and the quality was suburb and the protection also because its a hard case but very disapointing it made the HD twice as thick and I suspect that will be the case with the note as well .
So if you want good protection the pielframa case will do the job no doubt.
But for me I wait untill I can buy the original samsung pouch to keep the note pocketable

Alright, I finally got my case.
I plan on posting a video review shortly, but initial thoughts:
It's a very nice case. It just looks very classy.
It looks much more professional than the PDair case posted in the other thread.
You kind of push/snap the Note into the case. It is quite secure.
Changing batteries might be annoying.
It does not make the Note much bigger - it adds maybe 2mm to each side.
The clip is well done and I like that it doesn't add to the thickness.
It is thicker (as will all 'covered' cases be, since you need 'hooks' to hold the phone in, and the cover on top of that).
Thickness was never an issue with the Note in terms of pocketability though.
One annoyance is that the cover is about 1mm wider than the rest of the case.
It's not a lot, but you definitely notice it when it's folded back and you're holding it that way.
It kind of digs into your hand a little bit. Not a lot, but noticable.
There is a metal logo on the top right corner of the lid. Their logo has a metal 'ball'. I'm wondering what effect this has if you drop the phone face down, since that's the initial point of impact. I might be overthinking this.
Some things probably generic to all cases:
If you use the belt clip (which I won't), you have a metal 'rachet' which does on the back. If you have that on the phone is a bit awkard to hold in your hand. It's poking into you, or if you have the back flap folded back, makes the phone quite thick.
One very noticable thing - on the 'naked' Note, the power button is higher than the rest of the Note (on that side), making it very easy to accidentally press. It's a common complaint. Now that the case is higher than the power button, it's quite difficult to accidentally hit the power button. That's a very good thing.
One subtle perk of a bottom flap is that you can hook your little/ring finger around the 'hinge' and you can get a little more reckless with how you use your thumb, without fearing dropping the phone.
It'd be nice to have the Piel Frama to compare. I suspect it's lusher, softer, and thicker, but it's also 45 euro more expensive. I'm pretty happy with my choice.
- Frank
I don't have any experience with a Norêve case (looks quite nice BTW), but I own 2 Piel Frama cases.
Soon it will be replaced with the Note, but now for almost 7 years I've been using my iPAQ hx4700 daily with a Piel Frama case.
It's really of exeptional quality (leather, stitching, fit) and still looks as if only used for a few weeks.
I also used a Piel Frama case with my former PDA for about 3 years, with the same experience.
It's true though, as written before, that the Piel Frama cases add some bulk.
But they certainly have a stylish professional appearance.

I do like the look of the Norêve case and agree that the flap opening to the bottom is practical, specifically for securing the Note with one hand (especially if you have smaller hands, as I do).
I'm curious which type and colour leather you've chosen for the Norêve case and if it looks in real life the same as on their website.

Hey,
to those who already have the case by norêve: what about the closing mechanism? This one produced some very ugly scratches on the plastic surface of my old mobile phone. So, I thought of never buying one with this closing mechanism again, but rather one with a magnetic one. But magnetic is bad for the Galaxy Note as the Pen won't work well.
So, what do you think about the norêve - will it be producing damage to the phone?

how does it feel when you flip the cover all the way (so it's in your palm) and hold it that way? I feel like the cover should be a mm or two less wide.

It's a curved piece of leather - I don't see it doing any damage.
It sort of bends 'over' the top of the phone and holds the cover there.
It works pretty well - no complaints there.
One last amusing thing - the case almost covers the top microphone hole. I kind of think they weren't aware it is there.
- Frank
I've had the Noreve for a couple of days now.
It is just perfect. Looks good. Functions good. Solid. And the leather smells like high quality leather, not some cheap crap.
I could not get a cheap case for a 600 euros phone. That's just not me.
The piel frama could be good also but I thought I could not take pictures with it so I went for the Noreve.
Cheers.

Anymode Bumper Case

So a quick synopsis as I have now used it for a day.
The fit is very good, it actually feels like its protected but still has a very light(even lighter than my Ringke Slim) feel to it. The silicone bumper goes on first and elevates the volume and power buttons, then the actually bumper slides over.
The bumper is NOT aluminum.
I was under the impression it was, and at first glance was disappointed. However the plastic maintains a nice rigid feel in my hand where you feel as if the grip is there. The front and back are also fully protected for placement on either side.
Experiment #1 was combining this with my 5000mah battery and backplate however it was extremely tight and did not have a good feel.
Overall it slides in and out of my pocket, not as slippery as the Ringke but it feels "safer" coming out of the pocket and even while in use. Heres a few pics for everyone to see.

Un-sold. Thanks for the clarification on the shady sellers mis-advertising their wares. Shame.
Just got my case as well. Even though it isn't aluminum it seems like it can absorb a shock quite well. The ad on ebay where I bought mine did state the materials are made of "PC and silicon". The bumper itself is polycarbonate the the inner part is silicon. I'm pretty satisfied I remember in the Galaxy S2 Forums people complained about GPS lock problems with an aluminum case, so that may be something to think about if looking at an aluminum bumper.
hmmm I panicked for a moment there, I've ordered this a few days ago, and I cant believe that I didn't notice its not aluminium...
But having read your posts and a few from the aluminium thread I'm thinking this one might be better.
Can we get more pictures of other colours and stuff?
I had an aluminum bumper on my iphone4. It definitely reduced the signal strength and was not as comfortable as this one is in the hands. I am still debating on which to use as daily driver this or my ringke slim. This one is again very comfortable and protects the nice gunmetal trim of the note. The ringke is slimmer and slicker so it pulls out of pocket easier but does not provide full protection.
Looks horrible sorry.

The aluminum bumper reduced the signal on the i4 because the band is the antenna ... it wont affect the note AT ALL... just fyi.

I like it hehe. It's nice. But I find it funny how 1/4 of a case (a bumper) can cost MORE than other cases! Bah.
Anyone with white Note bought this? If so, a photo shot would be appreciated.
I ordered one today, after seeing this thread. It's pretty much what I was looking for
I see that theres a cutout at the top corner. what's that cutout for? thanks
Don't know for sure, but a number of cases have that cut-out. Antenna placement, maybe?

That is the antenna for watching DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) in Korea.
That feature is only for domestic one.
This is my new cover. Aluminum, brushed and shiny.
Even better buttons now. Because buttons are a bit recessed, I don't accidentally push the buttons anymore, yet they are still easily accessible. Also no decrease in antenna performance.

well well... after two weeks, my order just got refunded, with a message that the case was discovered to be an improper fit for the Note. sounds like they're going back to the drawing board
Ya i Have that bumper case to, its ok but i dont like how the rubber covers so much of the front of the phone. I think i just dont like adding any width to an already large phone.

Galaxy Nexus I9250 Ballistic Shell Gel case (w India shipping) - Thumbs Up!

Here’s my take on the Ballistic Shell Gel case.
If you’re a klutz like me, this is the best yet minimalistic protection you can get for your Nexus. I have the I9250 International GSM version (stock 1750 mah battery).
It is one quality case. Fits snug (don’t know if it’ll fit the 2100 mah or after-market batteries. The corners offer the best protection there is. That’s what drews me to it in the first place. The corners along with an all-around lip of the case provide protection to the screen in case it falls face down. It feels like solid, strong quality. And isn’t over priced like the Otterbox Defender or the Trident Kraken. (the only case I think is better than this & is by a brand name.) The problem with Otter box is its overpriced for my taste & has those annoying flaps that you have to open to use the ports.
Rinke & Capdase Barely There, are slim yes but don’t offer protection from clumsy idiots like me. The rubber bumpers by a trust company did it for me.
The Ballistic wins for me with the combo factors of Price, protection & least bulk.
The only drawbacks I noticed in the Ballistic case were, it makes the phone run a bit hot, since the back (where the heat is generated) is closed by the Gel covering followed by the Hard Shell. But since, ALL such cases like these block them, that’s something I’ll will have to live with I guess. Maybe later I can manage to cut out the back of the case & shell to let heat escape. Keep in mind though, I’m using the phone at Room temperatures in New Delhi in the Middle of July. When the current average temperature ranges at about 42 C.
So. the case is not entirely at fault. I did once or twice have the battery cutoff auto charging due to overheating (Battery Indicator Pro shows, the battery cuts off at 45 C) & the CPU runs at 55C & above on constant usage, going up to 70C at times as well (Checked by TempMonitor). But this is if you site in a regular room with room temperature & little to no ventilation. Otherwise its ok.
Again. This is for information only. Please don’t attribute this to the case, it’s an environment thingy.
I’m running Stock JB repackage by Koushik of CWM with Franco r210, at stock settings.
The second issue I face is while slipping the phone in/out of my trouser /jeans pocket, the corner rubber bumpers provide some resistance. But again, can’t do away with that. That is what the case primarily provides as protection & as advantage over competition. Yes, your phone will get thicker & slightly bulkier over a naked GNex, but this is the best protection & least bulky alternative I could find for someone who wants an all-round solid protection for his phone. Spent weeks searching & going over every decent casing out there for the Nexus.
The third point is it doesn’t have a kickstand like the Trident. But tbh I’ve used the Motorola Photon for a while & I find that outside of you sitting at a desk & placing your phone on an even hard surface, a kickstand is practically useless. But that’s just me. Besides the rubberized sides & corner bumpers of the Ballistic make the case easily prop up against anything & not slide..
All buttons & holes work perfectly & are neatly & exactly cut out.
No screen protector included, but who cares? Besides I have GadgetShieldz installed. Might post that review later..
Additional In-action Youtube videos & reviews are easily available if you Google.
Additional Info: I had the case shipped from Amazon to New Delhi for a total of $24.22 (including shipping). No Security was charged. The cheapest Case listing was for $13.15. Rest was charged as shipping. I placed the order on 18th June. Order was shipped through USPS & tracking provided till it was shipped out of US. As usual India post didn’t provide any tracking (neither did the shipment show up on their site, and still doesn’t :/) But I received the package on the 28th of June.
Bottom line : Completely Satisfied
Hope this helps future buyers.
PS: Can't post any links cos of XDA 10 post regulations..
where do you get the 2100mah battery for how much??? who is the manufacturer
nice review, thanks
Great review. I've been contemplating between the Trident Kraken & the Ballistic for a while now too, so this review is very appreciated. I've been leaning towards the Ballistic, and pretty sure I'm going to order it now after reading your review.
Do the rubber corners on it attract a lot of dust or lint? That was one of the first things that made me decide not to get the Otterbox Defender... I don't want my phone to be wearing whatever is in my pockets lol.

Thanks. I'm glad
the rubber/rubber corners have a slight matte(rough) finish. Quality finish & standard, but just that type of rubber. So it gathers the standard amount of dust/lint as such type of rubber does. just wiping it against your shirt cleans it for me.
Now that you mention, a dust point is, it gathers near the lips if you get your phone dirty. But I suppose that'll be with all cases of this type (think how dust gathers on the edges of a TFT/LCD panel - where the screen & plastic surround casing meet) While its annoying to get rid of on a Display panel, for the case, just stretch the rubber (I don't do that though) or take it off & clean once in a while?
Oh and another thing I forgot.
Its very low bling (What I like). I.e., the only places of branding you'll notice is a small sober "Ballistic" etched near the bottom on the back hard shell, & two slight " B " 's imprinted on the top two bump corners.
Let me know if you you order the case & the review turns out as per expectation

I don't have 2100 mah, only the stock GSM 1750 mah one. If you're asking about India, then its not available (since the Gnex has been officially denied a launch in India by Samsung)
If you get the 2100mah, mke sure you only get the Samung sold original one or else it won't be worth it, and as for the other unmarked aftermarket batteries sold. Seido, 3800 mah one etc, I would suggest do some serious research online. cos although I haven't used one, the average of the online impression I got was they don't give you as much battery boost as they should, there are fakes & lower mah sold with a higher mah sticker slapped on etc. I could be wrong as well, Just FYI though.

leather case for HTC U11+ anyone?

Can somebody please manufacture a high quality leather case for the HTC U11+ ?
I can't find one online. Does it even exist yet?
Please let me know if you find a good leather case for it.
Thank you.
The case should offer enough protection while at the same time supporting the edge sense feature.
I used the included Clear plastic case, AND then purchased a high quality leather case from Piel Frama which has a pull tab.
The IPhone 7 plus case is a perfect fit for the U11+ with the included clear case.
I don't think that there will be many cases for this device as the U12 is 6 months away.

I don't think that there will be many cases for this device as the U12 is 6 months away.

Great how much does it cost ?
what screen protection do you use (link please)?
See link below.
Hands down, Piel Frama makes the best quality leather cases in the world.
https://www.pielframa.com/en/producto/iphone-7-plus-cases/pull-style
There are a lot of colours and a couple of textures available.
I haven't used screen protectors for years. Not necessary if you use a pouch/case for protection.

thanks
There are 4 small holes on the bottom right of the pouch. This allows for the speaker notification sounds to come through easily when the phone is in the pouch. Very clever. Perfect for this device.
This is one of the many problems with the leather cases on amazon. The product images are clearly fake.
I found this online,
https://www.casefanatic.com/htc/bus...r-cover-oneplus-5-oneplus-5t-htc-u11-htc-u11/
Have no idea about the quality but it looks good to my eyes :fingers-crossed:
Edit: The exact same case as above is available in aliexpress for half the price.
Edit: I found one more https://www.noreve.com/en/u11/3475-htc-u11-leather-cover.html
The above link is for U11 but they are currently in the process for making it for U11+ as well. Expensive but looks very high quality.

Looks good but where is that magnetic thing to close the case?
Also how does the phone sit inside the case? I don't see a silicone cover glued inside the leather case...
Please show more pics of it.
Does it provide sufficient protection for the edges of the phone?
Are all buttons easily accessible?

I received it today (1-9) . Cannot find a magnet. So it will not close by itself. Inside there is a glued cover (plastic) Fits, nice. All buttons are accessible and all the microphones are accessible too. Smells like real leather. Nicely wrapped in a box and bubble plastic.
Noreve has 3 models available now for pre-order, I ordered one (back cover only), should get it by the end of the month...

I also got the same a few days ago. https://goo.gl/9t2V3u
It is of a very good qualtity and smells like real leather. The top cover attatch to the bottom with a magnet. If it don't you have to bend the top cover to back and front a few times because the new leather is stiff. After that mine attach to the bottom without any problem.
But, the opening to the volume and power -button is too small for me. You need small fingertips or use your nail to reach them. Its also missing an opening for the led at the top so I can't see it when charging or messages has arrived. Also it is very hard to use the fingerprint scanner if you don't have small fingertips. I have inform the seller/company about this and they will probably fix i in the next batch, they say.
As I said the quality is very good, exept what I have mentioned but maybe a bit overdone. With this case the package feels very thick, with the plastic bed for the phone and quite thick leather on top of that again. Solid, looks very exclusive no doubt, but to mutch I think.

I got a new leather case today. https://goo.gl/ea8Jr4
It feels lighter and not so compact/heavy as the earlier mentioned case.
But this case as the earlier one is missing a hole/opening for the charger/message-LED. It seems that companies who make this leather cases is missing this. The LED is not visible on the phone until it lights up. On the first case I made a hole for it but on this one, if I make one, it will destroy one of the vertial seam.

You are right. After a few days of use I noticed there is a magnet. Sorry.
Received my noreve case, I got the synthetic leather one, back only ( there was a discount going on at the time, got it for 29€). Took about 20 days for delivery.
First impression is very positive, on first sight feels like really high quality, the synthetic leather seems to be of a high quality kind, fits perfectly... exept two things, one I knew about, the other one, I could live with.
First is the big cut outs for the squeeze feature, they look kinda ugly and we know that this feature works with most cases anyway... Thats why I got the black case to minimize this cutout...but still, not good.
Second thing is that the back mic cutout is not centered, mind you it doesn’t cover the mic, but just barely.
So in its current state, I wouldn’t buy it again, but having started a mail exchange with them, as it is a handmade on order brand, I think I will be able to place a special order without the cutout and with the mic hole centered correctly...
Will let you know how it goes...
Ok so my last update on the noreve case, I decided to return the one I got, didn't look good with the big cutouts for the squeeze feature...
Also they couldn't accomodate my idea for a case without these cutouts, as it would have been too expensive and too difficult for a one off case...
Back to square one, did not find a really nice case yet...
