One of my friends bought a new HD7 with SPL 5
This method didn't work with him
I don't know does this method need Official Chevron before applying it?

I installed WPE, run it and did all follow the instruction, but nothing happened...

what happened to him? bricked? or UpdateWP refuses to update? i think it should work, because we're only targeting 4.5 cab when downgrading to nodo & re-upgrading to mango, so, if we can have the cab, why should we revert to nodo? just waste of time
no, this method doesn't need chevron unlock, because, it's all official cab

ok, there you go, you can use new wpe special attached on first post, that should fix your problem, or, you can apply it manually if you got sick & tired with this kind of error

Hi imablackhat,
i don't know but i just see the pic like this http://wiki.xda-developers.com/images/htc-blueangel.png , may be "CAN"

It should be possible, but very dangerous to try and debug 8) I did not hear anything about JTAG
interface on Blueangel, that can/will recover the trashed
bootloader.

No need to flash your BA.
Linux does currently run from SD card, and you can boot it via haret.
So the only thing you have to do is make a backup of your windows data, since it will be lost after you booted linux.

Mango Update. Files please ????

User hd2leo_fusion post in another thread...
This download contains four files that you will need to update your retail Windows Phone device to the 'Mango' Beta 2 pre-release build.
MangoB2-ZuneClient.zip - ZIP file that contains the install for the pre-release Zune Client 4.8, required to update your Windows Phone retail device and to connect to your device from the Windows Phone SDK tools.
MangoB2-UpdateWP.zip - ZIP that contains the install program(s) that will install updatewp.exe into your Zune client, allowing you to update your Windows Phone to point to the test servers
MangoB2-DevRetailUpdate.zip - Tool that automates the backup and update process so that your retail phone can receive ‘Mango'
Update Instructions - Mango Beta 2 for WPDevs.pdf - Instructions to walk you through the update process. 15 minutes here can save you 4 weeks without a phone.
Finally, one last reminder about reading the instrctions:
Please read the instructions document fully and carefully before you update your retail device. Not properly following these instructions can place your personal phone in an unusable state. Microsoft is unable to assist developers who ‘bricked’ their phone because an instruction step was skimmed or skipped.

Hi all
It looks like those 4 files are the files you need to perform the update !!!!!!
MangoB2-ZuneClient.zip
MangoB2-UpdateWP.zip
MangoB2-DevRetailUpdate.zip
Mango Beta 2 for WPDevs.pdf
And from what i read are device indepented ...so guys ...
Can any one with dev account post those files here please???
Good luck with this. Considering [registered] developers are only allowed to install Mango on a single device I somehow doubt you'll be able to install it as a non-dev just by patching your Zune install.
It's easy like that?
I'm giving it a shot. I have the files, going to see if it works.
I sure hope it does.
P.S. I was sworn to not share the files though. Gotta find ur own
I'll try to search them, too. But if I found them I'll post them here.
Edit: Google doesn't help =/ Seems like nobody has uploaded them, yet.
At least, can you tell us if it worked for you?

I did not say that it will work 100% ...The files are just to patch the zune and send it to find the update in the MS servers ...
Dont forget that register devs are limited to unlock only 1 device ...and all of them have more than one unlocked...
Maybe this will work, for everyone ... maybe ...else why are those files hiden to general public ???

Read a few posts up. They aren't my files to share, I'm sure they'll be leaked out eventually, but I'm not going to screw a friend over who gave me them if there is some sort of hidden tracking.
I'll report the progress, but no files.
P.S. seems this update is going to take at least an hour. I'll post back when it finishes. Also, from start to where I am now, it's been pretty painless. And NO i don't have the Beta 2 tools installed, so it apparently works without them, despite what the document says.
Ah, ops, sorry. Okay then.
At least we will know if this will work to everyone when leaked.
Is it official and confirmed that each developer can only update one out of his three devices?

I planned on having them installed eitherway, just that the excitement overcame my ability to remember longer than 20 seconds to install them before kicking off the update lol.

So I had a rooted dev version htc one m9. I relocked the bootloader and was trying to run RUU for nougat. Augh - I ran into this problem myself. It has something to do with Microsoft Visual C++. I ended up installing every version of the redistributable packages between 2005 and 2015. Once all of them were installed, the RUU executable worked perfectly.
Alternatively, I think there is a zip file you can use to apply the RUU via the sd card method. I'm sorry I can't point you in the right direction for that, but searching around the M9 forums might be helpful.

Unfortunately, that was the method I used: install all of the requisite Microsoft Visual C++ packages boot my phone into download mode, and install the RUU executable. I used the Marshmallow RUU and then downloaded the OTA and installed that.
The sd card method is outlined in Flippy498's spreadsheet. However, I don't know where there is a zip RUU for the developer edition - that'll require some searching around on the forums or another XDA member's direction.

So before installing C++ packages, you were not able to boot your phone into download mode? Or did you have the same problem of RUU stuck at the terms and conditions part!? Okay, so theoretically you've got enough functionality to apply an RUU via the sd card method or via your computer.
The most reliable way is via your sd card, as outlined in Flippy498's spreadsheet.
Searching around, I've found the RUU zip files for the developer edition of the M9. - turns out that reading the sticky posts in the forums pays off!

I don't have any ideas there I think at this point I would apply the Nougat RUU directly via the SD card method or the executable. Either of those will be less messy than trying to figure out why the over-the-air update won't install.

I hope you're wrong on that. I haven't tried it yet. Are you using a laptop? How much RAM do you have? It is very slow to run without 8 GB or more. Takes a long time, but it shouldn't crash.

It doesn't crash exactly. RUU use 2008 C++ package which Windows 10 doesn't have. Once you have that installed the RUU will run properly.

You'll be on the latest build yes. RUU are not step-by-step upgrades like OTAs. They wipe everything on the device (except external sdcard) and install the build they were made for.
